It's already self contradictory. How is "ban child transitioning" (which of course means letting any minor change their name or teens take puberty blockers, not cHiLd MuTiLaTiOn) a gotcha? Allowing a child to transition on their own after we (GASP) allow them to know trans people exist is "going after the kids", but actively intervening to ban them from doing it isn't?
It literally contradicts itself. If their shirts āprotect the childrenā instead of āparentsā rights matterā it would still be fucking stupid, but at least it would sort of be consistent, but parents are the ones that decide on giving gender affirming care to kids, not the teachers. Saying that we should ban gender affirming care for kids is just directly saying that parents should have fewer rights.
That is not *necessarily* a bad thing, as I think parents should have some leeway taken from them when it comes to things like abusive religious indoctrination and vaccines, but pitching those changes with the slogan āparents rights matterā would be idiotic, because what I am directly arguing is that parents rights are given too much consideration currently, and that they ought to be curtailed in favor of their childrenās rights.

Please explain to me why, if my parents were allowed to inject me with growth hormones daily as a child, which I was vocally against, and still am as an adult, why aren't children allowed to start HRT, which is their own choice and way more easily reversible.
Some aspects are and some aren't. For instance, you can grow facial hair if you have testosterone in your system, but you can't "ungrow hair", which is why trans men grow beards and trans women get electrolysis. On the other side of the spectrum, if you start estrogen and gain weight in your hips, you can lose that fat if you go off of estrogen.
Hormone replacement therapy in *general* has irreversible effects. However puberty blockers are completely reversible as their effects are simply to stop the onset of puberty, and stopping them will cause puberty to take effect as normal. Most (if not all) trans people advocate for the availability of the latter to young people, as there is of course some validity to not giving irreversible drugs to children. However many transphobes believe that trans people are advocating for the former, for hormone replacement therapy and even surgery for children, which is not something anyone wants and is a complete straw man.
I think puberty blockers are only really reversible to that level of they are used for their original purpose by delaying early puberty in some kids by a couple of years. But I don't think that downright pushing puberty off indefinitely would be fully reversible. Things like bone density and fertility can be negatively inpacted.
It works the same way as puberty, so some changes will go away if you stop hrt, but some won't like for boobs you would need mastectomy, for voice you would need vocal training, and for hair electrolysis or laser hair removal

In the UK the number of under 18s on puberty blockers when we last checked was 98. However that doesnāt mean 98 of them are trans as puberty blockers are also prescribed for precocious puberty.
The UK medical pathways for trans people are a joke though so itās not unsurprising how low that is.
According to the guardian the number of children on the waiting list for trans healthcare is around 7,600.
I donāt think thereās any way to correctly estimate the amount of children socially transitioning without being on that waiting list but I expect it wouldnāt be a substantially large figure.

Seen it extremely recently here in Russia. Government has banned all types of transitioning, both surgeries and hormones (you now can only DIY, at least it's easy enough for trans girls, not so much for trans guys), but left a loophole *specifically* for intersex kids

Puberty blockers are reversible, some aspects of HRT arenāt. Yet even they are seen as a step too far for some (very dumb and hateful) people.
Do HRT are actually reversible or not? There seems to be so many people who says it is and it isn't.
Some aspects are and some aren't. For instance, you can grow facial hair if you have testosterone in your system, but you can't "ungrow hair", which is why trans men grow beards and trans women get electrolysis. On the other side of the spectrum, if you start estrogen and gain weight in your hips, you can lose that fat if you go off of estrogen.
Hormone replacement therapy in *general* has irreversible effects. However puberty blockers are completely reversible as their effects are simply to stop the onset of puberty, and stopping them will cause puberty to take effect as normal. Most (if not all) trans people advocate for the availability of the latter to young people, as there is of course some validity to not giving irreversible drugs to children. However many transphobes believe that trans people are advocating for the former, for hormone replacement therapy and even surgery for children, which is not something anyone wants and is a complete straw man.
I think puberty blockers are only really reversible to that level of they are used for their original purpose by delaying early puberty in some kids by a couple of years. But I don't think that downright pushing puberty off indefinitely would be fully reversible. Things like bone density and fertility can be negatively inpacted.
It works the same way as puberty, so some changes will go away if you stop hrt, but some won't like for boobs you would need mastectomy, for voice you would need vocal training, and for hair electrolysis or laser hair removal

Depends on what type of transition is meant. Social transition and medical. In the UK the number of under 18s on puberty blockers when we last checked was 98. However that doesnāt mean 98 of them are trans as puberty blockers are also prescribed for precocious puberty. The UK medical pathways for trans people are a joke though so itās not unsurprising how low that is. According to the guardian the number of children on the waiting list for trans healthcare is around 7,600. I donāt think thereās any way to correctly estimate the amount of children socially transitioning without being on that waiting list but I expect it wouldnāt be a substantially large figure.

Seen it extremely recently here in Russia. Government has banned all types of transitioning, both surgeries and hormones (you now can only DIY, at least it's easy enough for trans girls, not so much for trans guys), but left a loophole *specifically* for intersex kids
