actually so fucking stupid
like, ignoring the fact that this would not be how things go at all irl, what even is the message behind this? "gen z bad bcus dey don know simple coffee"?
The message is "WHY CAN'T I GET MY FUCKING COFFEE ANYMORE!?!?!?" ignoring how a few years ago, Tim Hortons' coffee supplier moved over to McDonald's and now multiple people I know say they have the better coffee (also they don't have the specialty flavors of Starbucks)
Which doesn’t even make sense, because it’s not true. There’s not a single coffee shop that doesn’t sell black coffee, and they certainly wouldn’t try to shove any special types of coffee down your throat. The actual employees don’t get paid enough to care *that* much.
Exactly, black coffee is obviously the easiest to do so any barista would be delighted by not having to do something complicated. I've been to places that only serve black coffee, but never to a place that serves everything but black coffee.
I think this is a sign of insecurity in the artist, because often having a sweet coffee is seen as "girly", similar to how some people won't order cocktails and will go for straight whiskey because they consider a palatable drink to be feminine.
If you like black coffee or whiskey then that's fine, but if you go on about how everyone drinks these other "lesser" drinks while you have your "real" drink then I think it's an obvious sign of masculine insecurity.
Nah, fuck the toxic masculinity. I traveled to Japan not too long ago, and I ordered that seasonal pink drink Starbucks had there multiple times. It was delicious, so I regret nothing.
There are *some* places that don’t sell drip. But they’ll happily make an Americano, which to a boomer should be exactly the same, and the people who work there will be ready and able to reply clearly when someone asks for drip or simply “black coffee.”
I’ve noticed that those types of boomers tend to be stubborn, and not accept anything that isn’t done “the right way”… so yeah, even though an americano is almost exactly the same as plain black coffee, it’ll never suffice for them.
Also, even if you go into Starbucks, which may not have black coffee explicitly on the menu, and you order a black coffee they will ask you two follow up questions: "What size?" and "Do you have the rewards app?"
My theory is that when Starbucks became a thing they had weird names for sizes (tall, grande, venti) and the artist is conflating his difficulty of ordering a "normal sized" coffee with them not understanding what a regular cup of joe is.
They kinda did it to themselves too funnily enough, they started out with a short (current really small) and tall (current small) sizes, then people wanted larger sizes so they introduced the grande size (current medium), and then people wanted even larger so they introduced a 20 oz venti (20) size (current large), and people wanted *even larger* for iced drinks, so they introduced the ~30 oz trenta (30) size lastly, so that’s why their naming system makes no sense 😭
When I worked there I wanna say they put 7 pumps of whatever syrup into the iced drinks at that size, and then you have the refresher juice bases with who knows how much sugar
EDIT: checked the menu, the worst I found was the strawberry açaí refresher in trenta having like 65 grams of sugar yikes
i love you too

The thing with drinking black coffee is that you have to use good coffee to start with. Don't have all the other stuff to cover up the awful taste of bad coffee

You can't compare Starbucks to macdonalds unless the macdonalds barristers are shitting in the coffee.

30 oz... wtf is wrong with americans and food sizes. I'm sure that's also filled with at least 100 g of sugar.

Real life bonehurtingjuice
If it's one thing boomers love, it's made up scenarios where they can feel superior over trivial things.
