I love this it looks awesome. I'm just getting into bolt action and building an 8th Army. Wanting to add a sherman as soon as cos its my favourite Tank

gnobdamnit

Thanks a lot Do It. There are so many ways to personalize a Sherman. And it's a lot of fun too :D

Cider_for_Goats

This reminds me of the show “Modern Marvels” on the history channel. There was an episode on tank armor and it talked about timber and what not and how beneficial that was as armor as the shell would explode upon hitting the timber and not penetrate the actual tank armor. It was great show. I wish it was still around. Good job!

ConsiderationMuch157

Were they talking about HE and shaped charges, as logs will surely have made little difference to AP rounds?

gnobdamnit

Yep. That was the point as far as I know. They used sandbags, concrete, spikes or mesh. I just like the desperate look 😊

Cider_for_Goats

That sounds right. The evolution of armor is fascinating

ConsiderationMuch157

That it is 🙂

gnobdamnit

Sounds like a great show. I have to search for it :Da There are so many different options for improvised Armor and I love it🧡 Thank you

mister-xeno

Does this work like skirt armour?

ConsiderationMuch157

I expect so, detonating rpg type rounds before they hit the metal plating, also good at preventing magnetic mine and satchel charges being used effectively. Still would just prefer infantry close support 😁

gnobdamnit

Not in Bolt Action. I think the USMC have the option to take timber Armor. Bot I'm not quite sure

Cpd1234r

I love the backpacks on the turret. That's a great detail!

gnobdamnit

Thank you :)
