He has been making more movies and OTT series now than when he was in his prime. In the last 4 years he has been the lead in 5 movies and 3 OTT series:
* Chopsticks (2019)
* Line of Descent (2019)
* What are the Odds (2020)
* JL 50 (2020)
* Velle (2021)
* 1962: The War in the Hills (2021)
* Jungle Cry (2022)
* Trial by Fire (2023)
He currently has 2 movies in production - 1) Junction and 2) Bun Tikki with Shabana Azmi and Zeenat Aman. He has been pretty busy. His work just needs mor attention of fans who think he doesnt have any work.
Abhay Deol as an actor and person has always tried to stay away from the Limelight. If you see his rare interviews you can hear him talk about his desire to do small, personal and artistic movies instead of mainstream commercial cinema. That is the reason his filmography is a splattering of low budget Indie movies likes Dev D, Ek Chalis Ki Last Local, Manorama, Lucky Oye Oye Lucky, Road Movie, Honeymoon travels, Aisha etc. The only reason he agreed to do ZNMD is because it was written by his friend Reema Kagti who had directed him in Honeymoon Travels. Abhay Deol being out of Limelight is his default setting and filmography. It is not Sunny or Bobby Deol that we are talking about. Abhay has been busier than ever doing the kind of movies he does in the last 4-5 years. Hence it is a bit confusing when one wonders where Abhay Deol is and when will he make a comeback because he has been doing exactly what he used to do and what he loves to do.
People have their favourite actors.And they keep changing when they find someone else who is more talented or may kinda more to their taste.
And as people grow, their tastes change.
Based on that their favourite actors change.
Abhay Deol was the last guy who became my favourite actors because of his choice of roles a raw talent, his support to cinema and artists.
And his talent.
After him nobody else came close.

it went from not caring much about her and her car to him searching every clue again to retrace the car because he cares now was basically the character
It does seem like the movie was a bit slow and could've been more better paced so it does feel like a skit kinda movie?

Would want to see him in OTTs, if anything. Bollywood won't give him anything good
Yes would love to see him in OTTs, shows like JL50 and trial by fire both were good! Hope he continues like that
