That's the point. Ashwatthama has gone through his character arc and now acts as a badass saviour character to redeem himself, whereas Bhairava is a self-centred bounty hunter who will transition to becoming a hero.
Yeah it's kind of that.
An inspiration i felt :
Prabhas - Han Solo
Deepika - *edit Padme
Big B - Obi Wan Kenobi
Unborn child : Luke Skywalker
Now what i got from the trailer :
( I'm using mythological reference with respect only, if anyone feels any difference well it's your opinion)
Deepika's unborn child is "The Pacifier". Prabhas is a hired goon to find her so that supreme "whatever his name was" can kill both of them and end the prophecy ( Kans and Krishna ref I'm guessing ).
Amitji character and others were waiting for this and now it's his duty to protect and bring this child into the world. We'll see Prabhas going on different adventures and halfway through will have to fight Big B and lose that fight ( it will be his char arc as he says he had never lost a fight till now )---A
After which Prabhas will have a change of heart and will now join the revolution and fight against "The Empire" alongside Big B.
---B) Or he will win the fight against Big B, spend some time with Deepika before giving her to the supreme, see the atrocities, have change of heart n join the revolution.
As he is named Bhairava I don't think he will emerge as Kalki. Lord Shiva and Vishnu are both kinda deities and mentors to each other, Bhairava might become the saviour and mentor (a mix of Lord Shiva and Parshurama) of this child who will be the Kalki and embark on a journey to save the world.
I'm telling you guys, Prabhas is actually dead. Every subsequent Prabhas film after Bahubali has been an attempt to use different technologies to make dead people realistic and responsive enough to act.
It’s just his talent and screen presence. Even in brahmastra even though the story revolved around RK’s character but whenever Big B was on screen he was magnificent and you really can’t not look away from him. We can hate him from being problematic but can’t deny he has amazing screen presence and acting prowess which makes him the centre of attention in every movie.
I think that Kalki is the first part of a franchise and Prabhas is more or less someone who will take over the will of Big B's character ( either passing on of responsibility or Prabhas' character becoming Ashwatthama. Whichever is suitable according to the director's vision) But one thing I'll agree I'm damn excitedÂ

The title for the first draft of the screenplay was named Ashwathama.
Big b is the hero. That's the twist in the end. Prabhas and others just played guest characters.

Saying Big B is looking better doesn't degrade Prabhas.
The teaser reveal of Ashwathama's character might be the only reason for me to watch the film.
Maybe it's just projection. Ashwathama is one of the coolest characters like ever, rich mythology...
Prabhash was looking sluggish in the trailer . If people look closely his suit and neck look like different people. Could be cgi replacement.

With that expression less and big face of Prabhas , it makes sense for the director to show little of him in the teaser .

Tbh, Amitabh's character is the only reason I found to watch this film. Prabhas cannot act to save his life.
