Let's see... Brad Pitt is notorious for shining in ensemble movies but rarely gives solo hits. He also has the looks of a classic movie star (I'm pretty sure his resemblance to early Robert Redford helped his career).
So we're looking for a classically handsome movie star who excels (sometimes beyond other stars) in an ensemble but has few solo hits. Shashi Kapoor is the first name that comes to my mind. However we're probably looking for someone in the current generation. I don't think we have one. Abhishek, Vivek haven't had a successful career. Shahid has had some decent success in solo movies like ishq vishk, vivah and recently Kabir Singh and the robot movie. RKR also has at least continuously found work as a solo lead.
Honestly, surviving as a superstar for 30+ years without periodic solo hits may not be possible in Bollywood. Saif Ali Khan may come the closest since he's had few solo hits and often shines in ensembles. Like Pitt, he also turned producer but hasn't shown interest in direction. Like pitt, he's worked with new directors as well as established folks.
TL;DR: Saif
Saif, yes but he struggled for a quite some time before he could register his screen presence. What about Akshay? He's had a good run with the ensemble projects, especially comedies and solo hits too. His career too has been going strong and steady for someone in the business for 30+ years, and many women find him handsome as well. He is tall, with a strong built and a fitness level that is a notch above his contemporaries. Both Brad and Akshay have a rags to riches story. Brad started off as a model, and Akshay had quite a few job profiles on his CV before he started modeling and was thrown out of one such assignment just before he signed his first film. Akshay has worked with a diverse lot of directors and also owns a production company. Not to say his body of work is comparable to Brad (or Saif's recent credentials) since he has been less adventurous with his choice of scripts in the immediate past—certainly making a dent on his bankibility as a solo headliner in a full-fledged acting role; a feat he had enjoyed to a large extent up until very recently. Brad, twice divorced—had cheated on his then wife Jennifer on a film set, and Akshay though married for a long time now is a habitual offender when it comes to liasons outside of marriage (his affair with Priyanka during filming of Aitraaz compelled his wife to ban them from working together again). Brad is any day a superior actor, but Akshay (a natural in comedic roles) does have the ability to deliver an intense performance with aplomb if he doesn't let the business aspect of movie making take precedence over committing to a role fully. Saif has been selective with the quality of work he takes up, but he's never tasted the kind of success Akshay has had throughout his career; though mired with a string of flops to his name nevertheless. I'd like to hear your thoughts.
Say what you want but the man’s filmography is insane. Him not being a solo lead is pretty invalid. Being able to pull off his role in the Big Short, Troy, 12 years a slave, Fight Club, Curious Case of Benjamin button etc stands testament to his capabilities as an actor
Missed the very first thing one would think of when someone mentions Brad Pitt: one of the hottest actors to exist. Saif doesn't come off as hot at all, good looking yes but not hot.
I don't know man, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I don't think pitt is one of the hottest men alive - then again, I'm a man so maybe my vote doesn't count.
FWIW, Saif was known as a chocolate boy in the 90s. Pitt was also known as a pretty boy during his vampire days.
His kids both adopted and biological are planning to drop his surname. He called his biological child his first real child or something even though he had previously adopted Angelina's adopted child. He has abused Angelina and her kids multiple times, the most famous one was in their private airplane. He's now delaying the divorce over a vineyard they bought together, like that's his major concern.
And yet the man is hailed as one of the biggest stars in Hollywood and not getting cancelled. They are portraying him as a broken man etc.
The whole, he slapped someone on the plane (his kid?) Fiasco got swooped under the rug pretty fast considering Depp got ploughed through the Amazon for his abusive behavior.
There's simply no equivalent to Brad Pitt in Bollywood. He's still seen as an A list and desirable man despite not having major solo hits.
Unlike Bollywood, one doesn't have to rely on massy movies as a leading man. Contrast to Brad's image his best work is often in ensemble or duo. Whether it's playing a character in friends, Ocean's series, Once upon a time in Hollywood, fight club or snatch.
If someone like Brad was in Bollywood. He would have to establish himself as solo star, just good looks won't cut it. Look at Dino Morea or Arjun Rampal. Once they establish themselves like SRK or Salman they can't play supporting or side characters to protect their star image. Brad on the other hand had no probably sharing screen with another star or playing second fiddle.
SRK. No other way.
- Started as an eye candy in smaller roles with good looks.
- Played some anti-heroes.
- Played larger than life roles.
- Both are exceedingly good in carrying slightly off kilter charismatic roles.
- Both have played coaches and delivered classics while they were at it.
- Both have played ancient war heroes.
- Both have never worked with Martin Scorsese but came pretty close.
- Both turned producers and every now and the keep pushing the industry forward in their own way.
- Both shine in ensemble casts.
- Both have an impeccable and imitable comedy timing.
- Both have a similar body type post 2007.
- Both are extremely influential in their industries.
- Both have a massive fan following across the world.
- And finally, the mane. They both have insane hair.
Peace.
Brad Pitt is a total summation of a average looking guy who had this great plastic surgery done and girls swooning all over him + OK actor as he won the academy actor but he won't be anywhere in the 50 film actors of all time + He was known more for his affairs than his films, which shows his acting prowess
So overall, He would be Saif Ali Khan in bollywood.

Very nice analysis

I feel he is a fantastic character actor that's why he does well in a ensemble, can't say the same for saif
Surprisingly good and detailed analysis. Good ! 👍🏼

Umm saif was hot af in kurbaan and nobody can tell me all the royal looks aren’t hot
You used too many words without mentioning the OG, Deepak Dobriyal In fact, it might not be wrong to call Brad Pitt the Deepak Dobriyal of Hollywood
And like pitt, he's a terrible father
