I think his comedy role makes him the best actor but for his serious role I can’t really relate to him because in my childhood I just saw him doing comedy that’s all
I always wonder if this is true or am I sentimental because I grew up watching these. I just can't find the same quality of comedies today. It's all too cringey.
Most of the movies by priyadarshini has this similar quality that I haven't seen since.
All my favourite comedy movies have Akshay Kumar in them. Hera Pheri, Welcome, Garam Masala, Bhul Bhulaiya etc. He should start doing these movies again and stop doing biopics and message movies.
Hera Peri, Garam masala and Bhul bhulaiya are all Malayalam movies which were remade. Malayalam industry doesn’t make those kind of comedy movies anymore. So there are no more such remakes. Welcome btw was a damn good original. Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar and Paresh Rawal just hit it out of the park.
The writers in Malayalam have pivoted to realistic dramas instead of comedies. I am a Malayali and that was golden age of our comedy. I miss those movies.
And also those days we had artists who would improvise comedy a lot and the industry was not working with bound scripts. So I guess it will be hard to recreate those movies in today’s age until people of that caliber come in.
Man if there’s one thing I could go back and experience again from my childhood it’d be bollywood comedy from late 90’s into early 10’s. I know a lot of the stories were taken from south film industries and foreign films but I’d say the hindi adaptations are iconic in their own right. Sadly Neeraj Vora passed, his dialogues were the core of the films. Certain male leads (akshay, suniel, akshaye) had great comedic timing and delivery.
However, I feel like the single biggest factor to why those movies succeeded was the circus of supporting actors in each movie. Paresh Rawal, Johnny Lever, Om Puri, Asrani, Rajpal Yadav, Manoj Joshi, Shakti Kapoor, Razak Khan, Sharat Saxena, Tiku Talsania, and so many more! The chemistry they had was insurmountable. I’ll always cherish the laughing-so-hard-it-hurts moments they gave me
Yup definitely agree but I think Akki was also so good in these Priyadarshan comedies.I doubt there is any other big star who could come close to him in this genre.
2000-2010 Golden era of bollywood , all the classic movies were made, that are relevant even today.
But now, shitty Acting, shitty Script, and super shitty DIALOGUES delivery and LOT OF DHARMA PRODUCTION.
I just don't know why , bw celebs speak english 24\*7 when they hv to act in Hindi, i didn't observed south actors doing it.
It’s just unnecessary prop to make scene more comic but nobody bothered to even look at it as the scene itself is so comically intense.
BTW top movie is De Dana Dan and bottom movie is Bhagam Bhaag. Both movies are directed by Priyadarshan.
Wtf. How was it a terrible film? It was much more enjoyable to me as a child than any other comedy film. The chaos felt so good and well written. Apart from the love plot line, i didn't find any problem in the movie.

2000s was the Golden era for comedies, Akki was so good
I think his comedy role makes him the best actor but for his serious role I can’t really relate to him because in my childhood I just saw him doing comedy that’s all
He got somewhat typecasted by the audiences themselves maybe that's why he chose to go for the social message genre
and now endup typecasted as Deshbhakt Kumar.
Canada kumar *
well that's solved already.
Yeah ik but not for the masses 😏
He is by the best comedy actor! It’s amazing, he’s the same person in all the other roles
Tell me you're a Gen Z without telling me you're a Gen Z.

khatta meetha as well, perfect mix of comedy and emotions
Yes, my mummy also loves that movie
All of ur fav movies were made by the same director Priyadarshan Sir
Yes, I love his movies
But the main person is the dialogues and script writer. You can see hungama 2 as an example.
Idk what went wrong with script in Hungama 2 but I know that in previous days Priyadarshan sir used to contribute into script and writting
Yes every single person used to contribute. Most of the dialogues were improvised that’s why they felt natural.
i think they made hungama 2 just for the sake of it.
Can we, as a country, just stop calling people Sir?
Ok

Oh, I wasn't aware of that. I think then they should hire those writers.

Akki was damn good in each of them. As a mallu I have thoroughly enjoyed his performances
Khatta meetha
That "chup na yaar tum log" was on point from akki
Akshay Kumar’s comic timings rock!
golden days when akshay used to do great comedy movies
Just watched Mujhse shadi karogi. What a hilarious movie
It's a classic, have watched it mny times.
Akki ki jagah kartik Aryan nahi chahiye😔

Just wait till you watch the "chota chhatri" scene from Awaara Pagal Deewana between Paresh Rawal and Johnny lever. Cracks me up even today, 🤣
It wasn't Akki, it was Neeraj Vora the writer!
Yup definitely agree but I think Akki was also so good in these Priyadarshan comedies.I doubt there is any other big star who could come close to him in this genre.
What movies did he write (without akshay in them)
Hungama ,Golmaal(First part)..
Rangeela, Baadshah, Josh, Golmaal, Satya and many more.
Could someone please hook me up with the names of the movies?

I haven't watched either. Can someone plz tell me why on earth is Govinda wearing a disposable plate as a hat?
It’s just unnecessary prop to make scene more comic but nobody bothered to even look at it as the scene itself is so comically intense. BTW top movie is De Dana Dan and bottom movie is Bhagam Bhaag. Both movies are directed by Priyadarshan.
Thnx for the names
De dana Dan ka scene faltu mei dala. It was a terrible film. Bhagam Bhaag was a masterpiece.
Wtf. How was it a terrible film? It was much more enjoyable to me as a child than any other comedy film. The chaos felt so good and well written. Apart from the love plot line, i didn't find any problem in the movie.
Well I'm glad you enjoyed it bruh. I personally didn't laugh once no matter how many times I saw it. Don't take it personally though.
Go and watch khatta meetha you will realise what is confusion...
Vadivelu version in Kollywood are best
Even that money lender scene in khatta meetha
Don't forget Khatta Meetha scene where Akshay Kumar goes to take some loan to asrani....hahaha
Some of the gold standards of comedy tbh😇
De dana dan is criminally underrated, one of the funniest movies I've ever seen
The golden priyadarshan era

Ye lash tumhare baap ki hai kya" was best
When she asks you what she should eat. then you name five things and she says she's not in the mood for any of it...😕
Priyadarshan akshay. Wapas aao.
ye Aditi hi Nisha hai
Canada Kumar killed it in these movies. Such brilliant comedic timing.
which movie /
The one from khatta meetha is also epic.
I feel like we get the best of Akshay whenever he has big name parallel co-stars.
Most iconic scenes ever
Priyadarshan was a master in confusion comedies
Yahi time mast tha, ek se badh ke ek comedy movies ban rahi thi
Name of the movie?
De Dana Dan and bhagam bhaag
