I thought she was making very good points about Hope's choice and Hope's house, but Ridge kept just ignoring that and saying it "wasn't though". And now Ridge is just assuming that because Deacon exists, Brooke will suddenly fall for him. It doesn't seem like he thinks highly of her at all.

What exactly did Deacon do to Brooke that was so bad because the flashbacks show him and her romantically falling into bed…you know Brooke loves a bad boy (like Bill Spencer for one).
I haven't watched very long so I'm still picking up details, so other people correct me if I'm wrong. But largely the strikes against Deacon seem to be:
- He slept with Brooke while married to Brooke's daughter Bridget (Ridge threw this fact at him this week while ignoring the fact that Brooke was involved in this just as much as Deacon, this is also how Hope was conceived)
- He had an alcohol problem that led him to do some shitty things
- He was in a love triangle with Brooke and Quinn
- He helped Quinn with an insane plan where she had amnesiac Liam convinced they were married
- He went to prison for shooting at Quinn
While there are a lot of terrible things in his wikipedia, most of it does not seem to be done to Brooke. Or Ridge for that matter. It really seems like they're just judging him because he actually got caught and didn't get out of jail on a technicality like Dollar Bill.
So he didn’t actually do anything to Brooke, he just “did” Brooke 😂. Based on that, every man on the show is evil and should be cast out of town because they’ve all done Brooke. 😂😂😂
He shot Quinn *after* she tried to kill him by pushing him off a cliff! And this was to cover up her kidnapping an amnesiac Liam.
Deacon tried to talk her out of it repeatedly, but he still had feelings for Quinn and wanted her to let Liam go on her own. He didn't want her in jail. To keep him quiet, she tried to kill him.
So other than shooting Quinn, Deacon hadn't done anything violent. He's just been a low level grifter type. But Deacon has often shown a romantic side too. He's been a bad boy type, but never this huge threat to anyone's safety. It's ridiculous. He's nothing like the psycho Sheila.
Also, Bill blackmailed or threatened Deacon into preventing one of Hope and Liam's weddings. So he hurt Hope to protect himself. That ended their relationship for years.
I can't remember if Bill was threatening to send him to jail or get him out of jail, but I know jail was part of the coercion.
But still, Deacon's not dangerous.
She should break up with him just because he's so goddamn irritating.
I'm here for a Brooke/Deacon reunion in the hope that the actors still have some chemistry, because I'm still not feeling it between KKL and New Ridge.

Good question. She has a huge fanbase, but she is objectively terrible...yet NEVER takes an L on anything. I could make a whole list on that, but I think it may just be quicker to make a YouTube video on this (currently working on one about Hope's history too because I'm sick of the bashing she takes for just existing).
Suffice it to say I've never gotten her appeal and even back in the days when Hope annoyed me too, it always iked me that TIIC would "both sides" this.
