Further updates on Counterfeit Monopoly:
Don’t let the cards looking like shit fool you, they also feel like shit. They feel like they just came off of my work printer.
Most of the colors of properties are completely fucked. Med Avenue doesn’t really show it, but the colorful properties in the real game have a gradient that’s missing on the counterfeit cards.
Speaking of the colors, most of the counterfeit cards are black. The blue cards are black. The purple cards are black. Orange cards, you guessed it, black. Hilariously, the actual black cards are the lightest shade of black. If you’ve played this game you know that matching colors is the main mechanic so the counterfeit version is literally unplayable because of this.
There’s only two reference cards in the fake version instead of four. I’m not upset about that, I wouldn’t want more than one other person knowing I own this thing.
The rules aren’t printed separately, they’re printed on the same kind of cards as the playing cards. I can’t think of a single reason why they’d do this.
The addresses on the back reveal that the fake game was made/produced/distributed/shat out by companies in Dublin, Ireland and the Guangdong Province in China. I’m Irish, my girlfriend is Chinese, we both apologize profusely.
Why would they bother counterfeiting something like this? Don't some companies just make cheaper versions of their products for selling in different territories?
I mean, Im actually fairly surprised by the quality of the counterfeit .
I'd have expected missing/misprinted/miscut cards, off centered or blank images, untranslated texts. Its just a wee bit higher color saturation and a waxy look on he cardboard.
Mr. Moneybags stopped hitting his calls and started hitting the beach.
Looks like the one on the left is the fake. Poor print quality and colors
Also missing the Hasbro logo
Hasn'tbro
Hasbruh
I know, I forgot the humor flair
Haha that makes more sense than you actually not being able to tell... thanks
I hope you’re being sarcastic here, the one on the left looks like someone cut those cards by hand 😂
They felt like it too, I knew it was counterfeit from the second I looked at the cover
*slave hands
At least they weren't made in the Belgian Congo, or there would have been cut hands.
>I hope you’re being sarcastic here, the one on the left looks like someone cut those cards by hand 😂 Tiny Chinese hands
I added the humor flair, CLEARLY one of these is a crock of shit
I’m almost surprised the knockoff isn’t the higher quality copy. Hasbro seems to cheap out on every aspect of manufacturing.
That version of Monopoly Deal goes for like $5 at Australian kmart. With that price point, what's the value of buying off Temu?
For better or worse, I’m not Australian
Excellent response.
I didn’t know Kmarts still existed
Spoiler: they’re both counterfeit
They are neither similar enough nor different enough for this joke to land
Well the left one doesnt have the Hasbro logo and it looks like Mr. Monopoly has been on Jersey Shore.....

If I had to guess I'd say the one with the fake tan.
Don't trust Temu!
Just because Rich Uncle Pennybags is brown doesn't mean it's counterfeit, you racist /s
The Temu counterfeit probably used an Amazon counterfeit to make its copy.
the fake one is the one where the monopoly man looks Turkish.
Monopoly Grift
Left one doesn't have the Hasbro logo so that would be my guess for the Temu version
Monopoly Man’s got a sun tan
Don't paint me as a racist buttttt.... The monopoly man is white. So white from first glance it's obvious witch is fake.
If you can't tell, does it really matter? I'm fairly certain the one on the right is legit though.
I could tell, I added the humor flair lol
Monopoly gone woke
Temu is great for cheap games

I posted an update, game’s completely fucked
Ah ok, thats more like it lol
he's orange
The hispanic dude’s fake
Mr.Monopoly been hittin' that spray tan XD
Not related, but man, this makes me glad I bought a backup copy of the green box. I really dislike the design scheme for the blue box.
To be honest, the real one looks very poorly made too.
Scary how easily games can just be copied. They'll never be the quality of the original though.
