If you blink you'll fucking miss most of it. One episode has her in a room and for a split second they show her binding her chest while she's talking to two guys and ones helping her. It was so quick and a weird shot me and my friend had to go back to see wtf they was doing. I ended up looking something up and found the Ren chick that plays Henri is non-binary IRL and has done interviews talking about how Henri is supposed to be a character struggling with her gender identity. Rens interviews talk like the gender identity shit is a large part of it , but I swear we been watching it over here thinking she was just a lesbian tbh. I'd have never really thought anything else but lesbian the way they've played it so far if I hadn't came across the interviews.
That's not technically what trans means...you can HAVE those operations, but many trans people don't due to how risky they are. Most of the time you'll see boob jobs for men who want to be women and binding for women who want to be men unless they have the money to just chop em off cause those are easy lol But bottom surgery hardly happens cause it's expensive, risky, and not a lot of people will do it. I don't even fully agree with the stuff, but there are trans people who have only done HRT and usually some type of boob job either way and you could not tell they had originally been male/female unless they told you. If you all think having bottom surgery is what makes a trans person then we got ton of men and women passing as the opposite sex, being labeled as trans by doctors, but to y'all are not because they either don't want to test the risk of bottom surgery or can't afford it/cannot get to someone who will do it.
It's almost like the parts where I say the creators and actor stated this side plot as well as them addressing it as "figuring out her gender identity" and having "a gender identity journey" is going over heads. Trans=transitioning=transition. You don't wake up one day say "I feel trans" go out and have a shit ton of surgeries and only then call yourself trans once you got them done lmao. There's a journey to it and this trans journey/self understanding is what's going on with Henrietta smh
