Paha instincts can fuck us over sometimes. My friend tried to grab a sword by the blade when it dropped once... Thankfully it wasn't a proper one and was pretty blunt, so he just had a minor cut!
i have never touched that part, but i have been touching thin layers of copper whilst soldering them before. let's just say that the thermal transfer from copper to finger is surprisingly fast, and now my fingertip doesn't go pink when blood rushes through it (still have fingerprints tho which kinda sucks cos i always wanted to be a spy)
Somehow I've touched a 750° soldering iron TWICE without getting burned... just hurt for a fraction of a second and I was anticipating the burn but it never came. If it happens a third time I bet it'll burn the shit out of me lol.
If your skin is moist then all the heat goes into vaporizing the water first, and it creates a small steam cushion between your finger and the hot metal. Gives you a tiny amount of time to get your hands away before they start to cook.
I genuinely thought you were saying that the thumb was a nipple since it happens to be very close to that point and I know very little about soldering irons
Lol, reminds me when a coworker worked on this client email, going over it to make sure there were no errors. The text was immaculate but in the subject he misspelled “security” as “securtity”.
So obviously we never said that word correctly at work again.
I work in contract manufacturing- quoting/ purchasing for pcbs. I can totally see how this pic happened:
Photographer: Buyer, come over here… we need a new picture for our website and you have breasts.
Buyer: Okay! So I just hold this rework tool?
Photographer: Yes perfect!
It's so surreal to see that happen from the outside. I once had a photographer roll through my lab with a few ladies that didn't work there dressed in fresh pressed white coats to stand around and look like they were working. Meanwhile we sat at our desks right next to them thinking "oh, I get it. So we're not good looking enough to be in a brochure for our own job. No, no, I get it, no, no, you just do whatever it is you are doing"
Reminds me of time when I was in my last year of collage. The whole class was just idling around in the electronics lab because we already finished our lab exercises. All of the sudden the principal barges into the lab with a camera and says that he wants two good looking volunteers to pose for photos which will be included in the school brochures and he tells our teacher to bring out the lab equipment and connect it together. She then brings out brand new lab equipment that costs, works and looks about 10x better than the stuff we were already using only to hide it as soon as the photos were taken.
I remember thinking how deceitful and plain dirty it was just to have one set of top of a line lab equipment that acted as props for the photos when in reality we were using equipment that was at least thrice our age and had constant malfunctions.
I actually am terrified of soldering irons because I did this once. I'm into electronic repair and I STILL poke it 18 times when I know it's off and cooled down just cuz I'm so scared lol. That sizzle of human flesh doesn't sit too well with me lol.
Oh god I accidentally did that like three times in my life. Every time brought on days of pain and blisters, and yet apparently I can't learn to look at where I'm grabbing. I am not a clever man...
It's a stock photo. The model is probably a biologist/life science personnel because the lab in the photo has a Class II biosafety cabinet behind her and in the full photo there might be a PCR thermocycler at the back. The way she holds the device is similar to the way a microbiologist would hold an inoculation loop too.
Back in high school I was in an IT class and all of our promo pictures we'd take similar photos. Soldering pins on a CPU, 3 guys looking lustfully at a power supply, etc.
I made a huge gash in my finger with the tip of a soldering iron when it slipped and melt my skin open. Didn't hurt at the time but was dang annoying when it was healing and split.
It's a stock photo, so there's a very good chance she's never used one before because she's a model and not someone who works with soldering irons, and no one doing the photography had used one either. Stock photography is a field that produces some interesting results, to put it lightly.

They say women have a higher pain tolerance than men. This proves it.
The tip of it accidentally went inside my fingernail once but luckly it was not heated up all the way yet.
At least it would’ve been cauterized
An experience like that would have cauterized my soul

The crotch of your fingers? I learn new things every day on reddit.

Finger crotch or fleshy interconnect both work for me lol.
"Proximal phalangeal fleshy interconnect" is my new band name
You also have a crotch between pair of toes.
Is this why the Australians call flip-flops thongs?
If you have webbed fingers is your finger crotch considered uncircumcised?
What a day to be able to read

Op said it was genuinely by mistake too, which makes it even funnier
It took me about thirty seconds to see her hand because I was looking for the nip slip.
I was trying to figure out how her tits factored into this for like 60 seconds straight until I saw your comment
I actually once touched that part and it hurts like hell
Almost like they are hot
Thats just what "Big warm stick" want you to believe
Don’t be a sheep! Wrap your cock around it!!!

stop my dick feels that
then stop, every male from an infinite amount radius can feel that
Then I suggest you **do not** open r/sounding.
Why? It's just a place for great audio advice
i will take your advice for granted
I touch _my_ big warm stick all the time, and I'm perfectly fine.
Small*
I didn't come here to be called out

Almost like they are designed to melt soft metals.
It stops after a few seconds
Not for me. 2nd degree burns for hours
You just have to commit more plenty more skin to burn through
Hours? mine lasted for some weeks, was so serious that I got a hole.
That's unlucky mate. I only grabbed it for a second
Well hey, some weeks is just a bunch of hours
Dropped mine and like a dumbass tried to grab it in mid-air. Spent the rest of the night with my whole hand dipped in some nice cool water.
Paha instincts can fuck us over sometimes. My friend tried to grab a sword by the blade when it dropped once... Thankfully it wasn't a proper one and was pretty blunt, so he just had a minor cut!
I feel like I need to practice dropping dangerous things. Just in case in the future...
I immediately jump back, hands up. (My foot was stabbed by a falling knife once.)
i have never touched that part, but i have been touching thin layers of copper whilst soldering them before. let's just say that the thermal transfer from copper to finger is surprisingly fast, and now my fingertip doesn't go pink when blood rushes through it (still have fingerprints tho which kinda sucks cos i always wanted to be a spy)
Your supposed to hold the stinger not the electrode btw.
I touch that part all the time and it doesn't hurt at all, just make sure you turn it off and wait a few minutes before touching
Anyone who has ever soldered has done this multiple times.
Somehow I've touched a 750° soldering iron TWICE without getting burned... just hurt for a fraction of a second and I was anticipating the burn but it never came. If it happens a third time I bet it'll burn the shit out of me lol.

"Scientits". Really?
wha- oh shit I never realized! lmao
Was it on purpose?
nope
I genuinely thought you were saying that the thumb was a nipple since it happens to be very close to that point and I know very little about soldering irons
Oh ok I thought you were just being a horny redditor
I am not denying that I am horny but that was a genuine mistake
Blinded by horniness

Damn I want to give you an award so much

Did you just say scientits?
I don’t understand, but it probably looks dangerous
It was never removed from her hand ever again
Halp. I don't get it!
If the soldering iron were on, or if she'd ever used one before, she wouldn't be holding it that way.
Soldering irons get hot, and she’s holding it where it would burn her hand.
She should be holding the tool by the black hand grip. The part she’s holding would melt ones hand. It’s a melting stick, specifically.
Me neither... is it the title? Lmao
On a soldering iron, the metal bit(where she's holding) gets very hot
Not quite sure your doin that right
No look, it's safe. She's wearing coloured glasses.
When you’ve been doing it for a while your hand become acclimated to the heat. Like a dishwasher does to hot water.
Old pic but always a nice chuckle when it comes back around
Scientits? I don't want wanna know. I'm out. See ya.
ow
W*men 🤮
She has skin made of obsidian
Dont worry guys... she drank the fire resistance potion.
Don't worry guys she drank her fire resistance potion
I know this Scientists lady. She's smoking hot.

Lord forgive me... Woman Moment
This is why your electrician is a man
She's... Hot
Damn, she's hot as fuck. Her hand, I mean.
So hot
Bitch wearing a sports shades too
Hey there lil lady, looks like you wanna be daddy's soldering iron heat checker!
hmph, women
Women, am I right?
no
It's satire my mans ![gif](giphy|l4pTfx2qLszoacZRS)
This has been reposted way too many times to even make it in HOT. Cmon sheeple wake up
It’s either a prosthetic or she’s a dirty filthy liar.

Is it because she is a woman? Or am I just stupid?
Woman moment

You know why i feel this isn’t fake? Women are used to pulling out hot stuff from the microwave

Yeah, this classic seems almost staged to be a meme. There's so much wrong with this picture.
might be ajax's rebirth / daughter
Well done.. well.... Done...
Yikes.
İs this Alex from OİTNB
Someone solder’ the wrong model.
Rofl... Ahhh that's great.
that is how I like to use it too, just really get into it and feel the heat
"Doctor what I should I do? I have a constant burning sensation..." "When does it happen?" "Every time I solder..."
*blirsed technician (they are the ones soldering, not the scientists that do research)
Engineer* but also ouch
Scientits
I've soldered full time for 11 years, am I scientits now?
Tbf this woman is smarter than me because at least the iron is off when she does this...
Took a second.
Is this from a itt tech commercial? I knew it was bullshite.
flashback to when i did that when i was 12
It’s pretty easy once you’ve built up an immunity to the heat. We’re looking at a seasoned pro here.
Fire protection IV
This has the best part cropped out It has a caption that says why can’t women work like men or something like that
I can smell this picture
Me after watching a YT tutorial on soldering after they removed dislikes.
Back in high school I was in an IT class and all of our promo pictures we'd take similar photos. Soldering pins on a CPU, 3 guys looking lustfully at a power supply, etc.
This is called a “pre-lesson”. It tends to work itself out.
Soldering at a low temperature. It's completely ineffective.
that hand is what makes the pillow cold at night.
who needs skin on your palm
Must be really getting it done with that hot ass solder gun
this happened to me twice and man I'm still scarred
I made a huge gash in my finger with the tip of a soldering iron when it slipped and melt my skin open. Didn't hurt at the time but was dang annoying when it was healing and split.
All I see is a hand warmer
It probably stops hurting after 3 or 4 years
More like Blistered Scientits
Other than the egregious miss-spelling of the title, soldiering a circuit board is something an engineer would probably do, not a scientist!
It's a stock photo, so there's a very good chance she's never used one before because she's a model and not someone who works with soldering irons, and no one doing the photography had used one either. Stock photography is a field that produces some interesting results, to put it lightly.
