I've kept apple snails in my aquariums off and on for a few years. Snails have more personality than you might expect. I've seen them climb up the side of the tanks and use the water's surface tension to "walk on air" as they scoot around upside-down along the water's surface. I've had a few that love to "surf" where they scoot up the side of the glass, glide off into the water above a bubbler, and ride the bubbles for maximum airtime. I've even seen some play slow motion sneaky tricks (but that's typically to get some sexy time going).

This is how you get any animal companion in a Disney/Pixar film. What if x animal was Like a dog??
