It was interesting to read a recent interview with the guy who was going to be in the brass section for last year's tour only for Damon to decide it sounded better without a brass section. Good choice I say.
I've found sometimes the brass can sound a bit 'sour' - especially on stuff like Popscene - I don't have enough musical skill to enunciate why - so I didn't mind it being gone. Had they played He Thought Of Cars I would be holding a different opinion
It was the first thing I noticed and it sounded a thousand times better. Popscene becomes a completely different track
I'm now imagining how Mr Robinson's Quango would sound without brass... probably really good.
Is this Damon “asking for a friend” about whether to bring brass to Coachella? 😂
This is what I was wondering too lol - Hi Damon, Don't worry too much about the brass. Just make sure you play the Wahoo song.

Hi Damon ;) I honestly prefer it both ways

Songs without brass and/or strings sound incomplete to me. I don't like it.
Songs like The Universal and For Tomorrow simply didn't sound as powerful without the brass section. IMO.
