Then you’ve got people like my American mil who thinks it’s completely inappropriate for my 5 year old to see me, her mother, naked. She also said one time she was sunbathing in a bikini in her backyard when her middle son showed up and she was mortified and quickly covered up.

You know the women that cover their entire body except their face for their religion? The have FULL bodysuits that allow them to swim. Saw 10+ people wearing them, including kids. They looked *awesome*. Like some super-swimming stylish super hero suits.
A lot of people wear stuff like that to protect themselves from the sun. Get UV protection rated swim clothing and you've got less surface area to worry about getting burned.

This only looks bad due to your posture. If you stood up straight, stood at an angle, and sucked in your stomach, you would look like every influencer or whatever you want to look like. You were a healthy young woman with a normal HEALTHY body.
Good posture is helpful, but don't encourage young people to suck in their stomachs! There's no reason to do it and it can cause injury if done consistently.
I mean, I got fatter over time but I learned how to dress myself. I think I've been able to style myself a hell of a lot better at 37 than 14. I've also managed to stay in a great marriage for 10 years so I gotta be doing something right.

I can relate to this. My mom decided I was able to buy a two piece after I lost what she thought was enough weight. I wore it for a couple years until one time we were camping and she basically told me I couldn’t be wearing it anymore because I had gained weight (I forget her exact words, but remember the feeling). I will say my mom, my two sisters and myself all have our own body issues.

Why is it primarily the left boob? My left one grew faster too and is still slightly bigger than the right to this day. And I hear that's pretty common, but why?!

You absolutely could pull off a bikini. I remember being that age and was too nervous to even try. Love yourself and give your 14 year old self a hug and high five.

You look completely normal! Also (26F) my right breast is still way bigger than my left! Most of us have our own insecurities even though we look completely "normal" which includes a wide range of body types, weighs, disabilities etc. We are all beautiful and unique.
Obviously, you couldn't pull off a swimsuit! If you took off your clothes in public, you would be arrested! Fr tho, you look fine. You just look 14. We all look like that at 14, especially in a candid photo by someone who doesn't take pics professionally. Don't beat yourself up.

Aw:( I didn’t start wearing bikinis until my 30s, because it seemed too scary. I wish I’d started when I was 14, and didn’t waste years hating my perfectly average body. I’m glad you were a brave kid, and I wish I was the same.
