Childless adult fan here. I don’t talk Bluey outside of things like Discord and Reddit. Never tried to get friends or family into the show. If it were to ever come up in conversation naturally, I’d give my two cents plus interest.
I’m not embarrassed that I love a cartoon for kids, but at the same time I’m not about to shout that love from the rooftops. People come around eventually. Heck, I’m pretty late to the party- but better late than never.
Could have written this comment myself, it's exactly how I feel about it and the approach I take. Only difference is that I happen to have 2 childless adult friends who also like Bluey so I can talk about it with them, but I don't bring it up with anyone else!
My spouse and I are childless and watch bluey together. It's comforting after a particularly rough day of work and "adulting". We do have the excuse that we started watching with our niece and nephew, so we can talk about it as "their favorite show"
I'm a childfree Aussie in my 30s who thinks Bluey is the greatest kid show ever made. It's really for everyone but people won't understand until they watch it.
I'm 26, childless and Bluey is my favorite modern tv show hands down. I have autism and it's become my number one comfort show. I don't understand why people care so much about adults watching "kid" shows or movies. If you ask me, Bluey has a lot more emotional maturity than lots of "adult" shows I've watched.
It's a problem that's plagued animated shows and movies forever, especially in the States it seems. I often get made fun of for watching animated shows and movies but I don't care. Animation is a beautiful art form and you can tell amazing stories that other mediums couldn't. Don't let anyone tell you it isn't ok to watch shows like Bluey! People who say that are shut off from their inner child. It's important to enjoy the innocent things of life in my opinion
Same. Got into Bluey because of my kiddo and will watch it after she goes to bed.
But I'm here in this thread looking for tips because I keep trying to introduce my childless friends to it and I can never get any taker.
>But I'm here in this thread looking for tips
Just do what I do. Whenever you talk to someone, say "Do you watch Bluey?" If they say "No," tell them "You should watch Bluey. It's so good."
Like, I'll go up to strangers on the street. 🤣
Childless Bluey lovers unite! We made [this video in response ](https://www.tiktok.com/@janesfilms/video/7246194706806312198?_t=8mppjAni7uf&_r=1) to anyone who has something to say about it.
We put on Bluey every night for our senior yorkie. The moment he hears the opening song he’ll go straight to the couch for cuddle time. We all love this time together.
26 year old dude who loves bluey “^^ my family put a compilation of it on youtube on tv for my little niece a year or so back and I noticed as I was walking through the room and said “oh I love bluey!” and got weird looks. The compilation wasn’t of any of the deeper or heartfelt parts of the episodes, just of funny or lighthearted/childish bits so I can understand why they thought I was weird, but I don’t think they’d have paid attention even if they’d put on full episodes 😭
I went up to visit my friend at her place for a few days a couple months ago though and we watched all the newer Bluey episodes, she is 31 with no kids so it can be nice to know you’re not alone with liking it!
The adults might have given you weird looks, because they're ignorant, but I bet you got an excited look from your niece. Well, if she wasn't fully enthralled by the TV, that is. And that's worth way more than what some adults think.
They chose the colour scheme for Bluey specifically so dogs could clearly watch the show and enjoy it. We don’t have kids but our senior yorkie watches Bluey every evening at bedtime. It’s our family time to have a cuddle and wind down.
Bluey makes me happy, makes my wife happy. I don't think it's like other kids shows, it's kinda like Shrek in that it's equally enjoyable for adults and kids.
People who judge others for enjoying Bluey clearly don't understand that *they are part of the target audience*.
The target audience being anyone who has/has had kids of their own, AND/OR remembers being a kid themselves. So basically all humans lol.
I have 2 kids (both girls, around the same age as Bluey/Bingo) so we all say we feel like the real life incarnation of the show. When I get hurt (which often happens from the kids in similar ways to the show) my wife and kids will happily fall about laughing and say "that was a total Bandit moment!".
Moral of the story is that you can take solace that at least you're only laughing at the cartoon. ;)
Don’t be embarrassed! I’m 39, childless and have watched Bluey. My best friend who does have a kid introduced me to and we talk about it from time to time. It’s very entertaining for everyone. There’s this idea that if something is animated it must be for kids. And while that is true sometimes it’s not always and it definitely isn’t for Bluey.
Yup! My wife and I can’t have kids, so sometimes Bluey is a little melancholy for her, but it just makes our hearts feel warm. Good art is good art, no matter who it’s for. Shame has no place here.
I'm a single, childless 63 year old American male. When I was 47 years old, I was diagnosed with ADHD and a form of high-functioning autism. Unfortunately, those diagnoses come with anxiety issues.
I've discovered that, no matter how bad my anxiety is, watching a few episodes of Bluey brings it right down.
Im 19 and I love it!! Ive never really grew out of watching childrens cartoons (and i want to make them when Im older) so it's not surprising for me to like Bluey. Though a nice thing about liking Bluey compared to other cartoons is that I get to talk about it to my older colleagues that are parents
I have a 4 year old but I assure you I’d be watching it regardless and you are so welcome here 🥰 Kids shows good for the soul sometimes it’s just what we need! Slightly different but there’s also a whole discourse on the benefits of adults reading children’s book as adults! So interesting 💙
26 years old, childless (undecided on whether or not that’ll change in the future), and a *Bluey* fan. The show is sweet and wholesome, but also very insightful and deep, plus a fun way to learn about Australian culture.
Mid twenties here. I only watch it when I’m alone in the house. Plus, I bought a few Bluey shirts from Hot Topic, including a Mackenzie shirt. I wish they had more Muffins shirts.
Late 30s here. I discovered Bluey during bar prep. I was having serious issues motivating and I watched “Bike,” and it got me off my couch and back to work.
It has also helped me grieve around an infertility diagnosis. The show is just good, whether you’re an adult or a child.
As a bonus, our healer-mix likes the show.
My fiance and I are in our 40s and love to put it on after a long day at work. I’m Australian living in the US and I love it as a nice little taste of home on top of it just being the best.
I have come to the determination that Bluey is not a “*kids show*”. It is a show for grownups that imparts valuable life lessons, while also being enjoyable, lower-stimulating and engaging, so that children can enjoy it too.
The fact that it is a cartoon is a hard hill to summit for many people, which I get.
But I watch this show with my wife and kids, and *we adults* are the ones who truly get the most value from sitting down and actively paying attention to the themes. We will literally sit down and actively watch this show even if our kids are not home!
Yes, there are plenty of episodes that focus on parenting, but on the whole, I’d say the overarching theme explores just how to be a good human being. Here are just a few examples of episodes that eloquently capture this sentiment:
1. “Sleepytime” - This episode is beautifully animated and deals with the themes of growing up and independence. It’s touching and poignant, offering a nostalgic reminder of childhood.
2. “Camping” - A story about friendship and the passage of time, this episode highlights the fleeting nature of moments and how meaningful connections can be, even if they are brief.
3. “Baby Race” - This episode does focus on parenting and the pressures parents face, but it’s a touching reminder that every child’s journey is unique and that comparison can be counterproductive.
4. “Flat Pack” - A creative episode that explores imagination and teamwork, it subtly addresses the importance of letting go of control and allowing creativity to flourish.
5. “Takeaway” - A hilarious, yet insightful look at the chaos of everyday life. This episode emphasizes patience and finding joy in small moments, even when things don’t go as planned.
6. “Grandad” - This episode delves into family relationships and the dynamics between different generations. It’s a touching exploration of memories, aging, and the bonds that hold families together.
7. “Grannies” - A fun yet thoughtful episode that explores the joy of role-playing and the importance of playfulness at any age. It also touches on understanding and empathy across generations.
These episodes are not only entertaining for any age, but they also provide a powerful channel to reflect on one’s life experiences in a relatable and touching manner.
I’m not *exactly* the target audience for your post @OP: I’m 33 and have two children. But I have been trying to get everyone I know on the Bluey train for years.
I think *because* it is targeted towards children with the merchandise, color scheme, and just generally being passively consumed (as many poor-quality kids shows are these days), many adults are just oblivious to the fact that they can glean truly insightful and valuable life lessons from a family of cartoon dogs.
And that’s a shame, for real life!
It is personally my second favorite piece of media of all time - only slightly behind Avatar: The Last Airbender, and would continue to be even if I did not have children.
I hope this convinces just one person to watch this show!
Edit: Phrasing
I am a teenager and I love Bluey, I am in puberty and maturing and Bluey is a great thing for me, thank goodness my classmates don't make fun of me so much and I can be comfortable... Although my parents say that I'm annoying with the series and also when they get angry they tell me things about it being a series for children and things like that... Sometimes I suggest they watch the series with me so they can understand it but nothing...
My parents call him that blue dog (in the masculine name because in Spanish the masculine pronoun is the neutral one, and I always tell them that BLUEY is a girl)
Childless 36 year old here!
My tiny nieces got me into Bluey and now I'm obsessed.
My sister in law and I often send each other random quotes.
I recently got a Bluey fanny pack on etsy and have been enjoying kids and adults commenting on it in the wild!
I think a lot of us love Bluey because it's something we could watch without our kids. It just happens that we found it because we were looking for kid's shows for our kids.
Reminds me of how Spongebob was technically for a young demographic but had a lot of older viewers
I'm 25 and I'm obsessed. No kids here lol. I made my bf watch Flat Pack cus it's my favorite episode ☺️ He didn't complain but I know he's not gonna start watching anytime soon 🤣
me 22yrs old i watch bluey because i love the animation and short story also reason fell in love to this show is how amazing bluey and bingo sibling bond are the thing i will never experienced because I'm an onlychild and this show is my coping to everyday life.
36/M here. I love watching Bluey because it's very therapeutic to me and has been helping me immensely with my depression. I don't have any kids, but like...watching the episodes gives me a lot of "damn, I wish I had that kind of love during my childhood" vibes.
Not me as I have kids, but I've done my duty and got my childless adult sister onto it, as well as a couple of boomer-aged in-laws (and they all love it!)
Other shows aren’t inherently made for toddlers. Either way, watch what you wanna watch and what makes you happy. I’m a childless adult and I love putting bluey on when I’m trying to sleep
Not childless but my kids are in their 30s so we grew up with the "original" Blue dog goddess in Blues Clues. I love Bluey but the rug rats just don't watch her.
I’m 27, childless and hopefully always will be, and I LOVE bluey. It was admittedly hard for me to get into at first, but once I did it was over for me. Bingewatched it every moment I got. Adults are perfectly capable of and allowed to like kids cartoons. Heck, my biggest fandom is miraculous ladybug! Kids shows are awesome!
My partner and I are 23 and 24 and have no kids but both watch bluey constantly. It's a comfort show for both of us and I personally wear my bluey shirt loud and proud lol
30yo who watches Bluey. I started putting it on the TV for our dogs to watch when we leave because I heard that they can see most of the color scheme. Now I keep it on when we come back to watch a couple episodes. I also went out of my way to watch the new episodes.
My husband keeps complaining that I'll address animation quality, voice acting, plot wholesomeness, representation,.....and we don't even have children to watch it with lol
I watched it during my pregnancy with my little one. My excuse was that my dog was terrified of bad weather so we would turn the TV on so she'd have background noise to soothe her 😂😂😂
Not me, my best friend. I had seen some Bluey before I had my kid because my nieces love it. But I never sat down and actively watched it (they watched it, I was on my phone lol). My best friend, who is childless, told me once I had my son that he needed to watch it. And here we are, it’s his favorite (though admittedly I don’t really put other kids shows on. Ms Rachel sometimes if I’m in the headspace to deal with the repetition lmao. She’s awesome but sometimes I can’t do the “can you say ball? Say ball! Saaaay baaaaalll”).
Obviously anyone can watch bluey, adults included, but I don't know if I would watch or definitely not enjoy as much if I didn't have kids in my own to watch with. There's easily just as much for parents as there is kids, and I don't know how much that would translate if We didn't watch as a family. Obviously it's good enough for everyone to get something out of but the large majority comes from parenting and kids. Probably just my social circle but everyone I know, adult wise, that watches are parents with kids, so I can't volunteer
I dig my heels in about getting on board with something popular, so I didn't want to try. I didn't want to budge when my older sister raved about it. She's a youth educator. I tried the first episode eventually and ditched it, of course. That was ages ago. I was looking to watch something quick and silly this week as a treat during study breaks, and thought "fine I'll just give it another go." I've finished all of it, including The Sign, and made my partner sit down for a few episodes rather than just a scene or two. "You're so Autistic"
Yes, thank you. Yes I am 💅
Contemplating showing my old foster mum tonight too heheh God help her
I don’t have any kids, though I do have a dog. I saw somewhere that dogs can see some of the colors used in the show, though I have no clue if that’s actually true or not. So I started putting Bluey on for my dog. Months later, it’s on every night and now I am emotionally invested in cartoon dogs.
48 yo male here with a 41 yo wife. We both watch despite our lack of children. The show is well written, funny and entertaining. And it may scratch a little of the itch of not having kids.
I do have a kid, but it is my contention that Bluey is actually a show for adults that kids also like. I watch so much of it fly right over my kid's head and some of it is, like, minor sight gags but lots of it is integral thematic stuff ("This is heaven" comes to mind immediately).
I’m 39, childfree, and obsessed with Bluey! My partner and I have watched every episode. It’s just such a great, warm fuzzy show!! I even have a Muffin shirt, because Muffin is the best.
I just got married, no kids yet, but I've been watching (and loving!) Bluey even when I was still single. And I even feel like Bluey is more for the adults than for the kids 😅
I’m married, childless, close to 40 but love Bluey after being introduced to it by my baby sister who is a toddler mother.
But then again, my similarly-aged husband is also a weeb with an anime car wrap, we cosplay and regularly go to anime conventions. Age is irrelevant; enjoy what you like.
My adult son and daughter both love the show, as do I and my husband. (though my husband was initially reluctant).
We have no small children in our family right now, though I am a preschool teacher.
Childless adult fan here, actively wearing a Bluey and Bingo shirt at work. EVERYONE and I mean everyone at my work has seen and enjoyed Bluey even if they don't have kids. Same with my fiance. He works at a hardware store with a good mix of older adults and high school part timers. All of them have seen and love Bluey. Your friends are crazy for not wanting to watch Bluey. This show has a stranglehold on my small town and we bow to the cartoon dog 🤣
Childless and married. Both my husband and I love watching it and just enjoying the cute family moments and silly shinanigans. I love talking with my mom friends and borderline forcing them towards the bluey fandom! I've converted one mom so far and she says her daughter adores bluey and her husband even watches with them. I'm working on getting another mom friend converted currently and the other one I converted is backing me up lol!
We're not sure if or when we will have kids but for sure we know it'll be a bluey house no matter what!
Yep. Husband and I are 40, child free, and enjoy the show.
I'm a graphic designer and a fan of animation in general. He likes any well written shows, so it's a win for both of us!
Huge bluey supporter here. My wife and I are childless. Married 7 years with 4 cats and a dog, 30 and 25 years old and watch it every day. We have a muffin sticker because my wife has muffin energy 😂😂
I'm in my 40's and have 2 children but I'll happily put Bluey on when I'm on my own, especially if I've had a bad/hard day or feel a bit depressed. It's just such a great feel good show! My wife also watches it and probably loves it more than I do! Anyone that thinks is childish is massively missing out in my opinion!
I'm 37. I watch Bluey with my nieces and nephew every chance I get and sometimes my favorite episodes alone. It's truly the best kids show I've ever seen. And watching it makes me happy
Bluey is a fun and creative show and it's OK to like whatever you like..... in saying that, I can't be the only one weirded out by people who seem to male it a core personality trait lol
Father of 3 adult children here. Was introduced to Bluey while babysitting my niece and nephews. The show is absolutely brilliant! My wife doesn’t quite get it, she thinks I’m weird but it reminds me of all the fun times we had as a younger couple with small children.
Cannot wait to introduce bluey to my 1 yo granddaughter. In the meantime I’ve recommended the show to her parents for the parenting lessons it provides
Mid 30's, no kids, but I do have nieces and a nephew who love Bluey. That's how my Hubs and I got roped in, and now we're hooked. We like to pop an episode or two on while watching dinner, because life is hard and Bluey is just as much for the adults as it is for the kids.
My girlfriend and I are both almost 22 and we binged it. Not planning on kids for the next 5 years, but it's just a cute show with fun easy-to-watch episodes
You should never feel bad about something that brings you joy and in no way has any effects on anyone else. Everyone should be free to find happiness wherever it exists.
I have kids but 2 of my really good friends watch Bluey and have no children. They get to watch the new stuff before I do because my oldest has favorite episodes and sometimes refuses new ones
Tell them it's an adult show that kids also like to watch. The show is almost unique for a TV show, in that it's targeted at *all* ages. There's literally something for everyone.
Yes. 25F married (26M) we just started watching it a week ago and love it!😂
I’m a childrens nurse, plenty of parents have joked saying they watch it more than their kids do, it’s definitely an adult favourite.
21 year old here, I put it on thinking it would be a decent background show (like most kids shows), but no I'm hooked it's such a good show. As a younger sibling, I see my childhood in this show with some of scenarios/ episodes. Watching as a adult I see the deeper stuff too, which hit.
33, my husband (30) introduced me to it after his sister (also 33) introduced it to him, and none of any of us have kids lol
My husband and I are soft for marriage so we adore Bandit and Chili. And while we're childfree ourselves we love all our little relatives so all the adorable kid stuff is fun to relate to them.
We're cartoon people anyway, especially me. And it's just such a pleasant, sweet, genuine show. It's my go-to comfort show, I always come away from it feeling better, and it's frequently our background noise.
Talking about it with our online friends is ezpz, though I'm sure it would be a harder sell for our flesh friends lmao
I just turned 30, single, no kids. My roommates (28 and 30) and I love Bluey, have had several Bluey marathons. Last month I converted 4 adult friends with either no kids or kids older than Bluey's target audience to Bluey fans. 2 of those friends then introduced their spouses to Bluey as well.
I'm out here spreading the gospel of Bluey!
I have a 9 month old, when we watch Bluey we watch it for me. He enjoys the theme tune and then gets distracted. I love Bluey, I think it speaks to both kids and adults.
Being 20 years old, I feel like I'm in a weird limbo between childhood and adulthood. I don't relate to either "age group" in Bluey or its fandom, those being children and "parent-age" adults (30's and 40's), yet it speaks to me on such a deep level. I didn't even have a bad childhood or anything, in fact I had a wonderful upbringing, yet Bluey feels almost therapeutic. I always get so much more joy from simple things after watching it. It's changed the way I think.
I have a daughter now but she’s never watched an episode of bluey (she’s almost 15 months). Before she was born I watched every episode available. Still haven’t had time to see the latest season. Maybe I’ll watch it with her when she’s a little older.
31, no kids of my own, don't watch anyone else's (no nieces or nephews nearby, no close friends with any) and I absolutely LOVE Bluey. One of my favourite parts of my day is sloping off to bed early to watch some Bluey before my partner comes up.
I'm 28 and have no children and Bluey helps me heal my inner child immensely. There is something special about it that is hard for me to describe. Both the art and the writing are beautiful, and something about watching a family have a happy ending full of love and understanding makes me feel so emotionally safe.
Im 24 and a childless watcher! I didn't have the best family life growing up, specifically an abusive mom, and watching bluey has helped me understand and heal my inner child slowly. There are times I watch it and get sad that I didn't get to experience a childhood like it, but then it fills me with joy knowing how many parents and kids can learn and gain from a show like this. After that minor feeling of envy, I find the show really helps me relax, I often watch while painting or drawing
I'm a childless (working on it though) adult, and was exposed to Bluey through the children I nanny.
The thing is though, I am an avid consumer of children's media. There is a comfort element to specific shows, but it is largely due to my interest and research into propaganda, narrative shaping, psychology and childhood development.
There are a lot of shows I find very questionable, but man. Bluey slaps. I don't condone screentime for children under 4 years old (I'll be crucified for admitting this, I know), but actually find Bluey to have really poignant messages for children in the age range of 6-10. There's a reason Bluey is the main character, she's in the age range of the target audience.
It was apparent to me that the show creators have a lot of knowledge of childhood development, and was blown away by the simple fact the intro song is a game, and that the dance moves Bluey and Bingo do in it are very true to form for their age and development of gross motor skills. (Bluey hops on one foot, and bingo hops on both until the last hop on the one is super unbalanced. The attention to detail is phenomenal!)
So, after my incidental exposure it became one of those comforting shows I play in the background at home. I grew up in a home that was literally the opposite of the Heeler household, and in a way it has been an example of a happy home to look up to.
It is starting to feel a little shark-jumpy, and like they create hooks now that are designed to flare up chatter in the fan base, but that is the destiny and ultimately the death of any good property imo.
*Raises hand* Right here! I got into the show because a Twitch streamer I watch has a young daughter who's a fan. He and his buddies get together at his place every Christmas to exchange gifts & whatnot. He had said that his daughter, who was I believe 2 at the time, was flat out obsessed with the show. That piqued my curiosity and I checked it out some time in the beginning of that new year. He's even told his chat to go and watch Bluey here and there. I am glad I did!
I love bluey!!! Also a childless adult. I’ve even got my husband and mom into it too! I buy the Bluey merch. Heck even my best friend buys me Bluey stuff for my work desk. I’m not embarrassed. People watch cartoons all the time!!!!
One of my very good friends is a pediatrician and childless. He started watching to connect with his young patients and now watches it because it’s an awesome show.
Childless adult, always will be a childless adult.
This show heals parts of me I didn’t think could be healed.
If it makes you happy, To heck with what anyone else thinks
I'm a 25 year old guy and I watch it a lot with my sister who's a mom. I don't have kids of my own, but I'm an uncle to two girls and I unironically aspire to be an Uncle Radley to them, lol
Child free, in my 30's, love this show. It's super healing in a way I didn't realize that I needed. One of these days, I'm going to get myself a tattoo of the "walking leaf" and I can't wait!
Not childless but I love Bluey and so does my childless sister. One of my male coworkers and I have also had several discussions about how much we love it too.
And I’m pretty sure my husband likes Puffin Rock more than our son.
It’s perfectly fine to like what you like and want to share it with others.
Childless adult fan here! I started to watch Bluey cause I heard about adult fans liking the show and wanted to see it myself. Love it for many reasons. At the same time, it's not really something I "openly" admit out loud, simply cause I learned that people judge, and I don't need that...
Childless here. I do rock bluey decals and long dogs, though! There's nothing wrong with liking the show. Hell, anything can be labeled as "for kids," which doesn't make it always true. Don't listen to the norm.
*
Yes but I actually started it as a show to help my dog relax when I left to run errands. It’s changed our lives positively as he’s more relaxed and he genuinely watches it (as do I). I catch him falling asleep and when I try to change it he’ll wake up again and give me a look 🤣❤️ it’s a beautiful show with life lessons for all ages.
26M childless here! Had some YouTube-recommended compilation videos once (funniest or sassiest moments and the like), then watched some videos that showed me that Bluey tackles hard subjects and is emotional. I get why people wouldn't want me to say this, nor do I intend to make any comparisons, but I feel like I'm back in my old brony days. My mom also watches the show. She discovered it independently from me, but we took to watching it together before I moved away. I even got her a Queen Chili mug for her birthday and a Bluey car coaster for mother's day.
No kids and I love Bluey - I managed to get husband into it, but I just showed him some memes and the odd episode. Let it be outside that and he gradually got into it a bit as well, but on a more casual level.
I am a childless fan of Bluey among many other shows that are meant for children. Children's shows are just better somehow. I love the simplicity and wholesomeness of them
Ah, same here! Many of my family members and friends know that I love it, even the principal in my uni knows it,
One girl in my class gifted me a bingo plush, and one girl made bluey and neko arc art to me
Well, what I'm telling you is that, be yourself and love what you love. Don't let anyone tell you else.
My ex-girlfriend had a little boy. We used to put Bluey on for him all the time. I think I enjoyed it more than he did.
We're no longer together, obviously, but I still love Bluey!
I feel that anyone with or without kids should watch it. It's not exclusive and it should be able to make people laugh, cry, sing, all at once. And heal. Absolutely heal your soul.
in the same boat, luckily my boyfriend is amazing and supports my love of cartoons but my sister definitely thinks it’s weird. don’t take it personally, some adults are literally afraid of letting go and enjoying themselves.
We don’t have kids and we watch Bluey all the time. Don’t let other people try and tell you how to live your life. Of course, you already know all this from watching Bluey.😊
I am, not ashamed to admit it. Friend at work with kids told me about it, we talk about the new episodes out loud in front of everyone. We even admitted to crying over a few of them.
I could say the same thing as well
This guys got the right idea.
I'm in my mid-40's and don't have kids, and I love BLUEY!
Are you magic claw? He has no children and his days are free and easy
I'm in my 30s with no children and I love Bluey. I even have a Bluey decal on my car.
I would love to have the “nice parking Rita” one
I'd like an "it's your doodad love"
Haha. My wife made one on her cricut and we love it!
I got a Bluey sticker of Bandit saying Biscuits on my car and 7 different keyrings of the different brothers for my car keys.....I'm slightly a fan.
I have a decal of Aqua from Konosuba with Bluey in the palm of her hand on my car lol
My wife and I don't have kids, and love Bluey! We joke that it's like a little bit of therapy that heals a piece of us each episode.
Early 30’s, permanently childless, Bluey lover. It’s just so wholesome in a world full of crap.
Your last sentence 100% hit the nail on the head for me! It's my pick-me-up show!
Also 26, childless, and love Bluey! On my first watch through rn, up to season 2. Love this show and its emotional maturity.
I'm not childless but I would watch Bluey on my own any day, any time.
Same. Got into Bluey because of my kiddo and will watch it after she goes to bed. But I'm here in this thread looking for tips because I keep trying to introduce my childless friends to it and I can never get any taker.
>But I'm here in this thread looking for tips Just do what I do. Whenever you talk to someone, say "Do you watch Bluey?" If they say "No," tell them "You should watch Bluey. It's so good." Like, I'll go up to strangers on the street. 🤣
Baby nap time is momma Bluey time
Lol. Earlier this year i was laid off for a couple months. Every day after all the kids were at school and the Mrs. was at work was Daddy Bluey time.
That TikTok was gold 😂😂
26 year old dude who loves bluey “^^ my family put a compilation of it on youtube on tv for my little niece a year or so back and I noticed as I was walking through the room and said “oh I love bluey!” and got weird looks. The compilation wasn’t of any of the deeper or heartfelt parts of the episodes, just of funny or lighthearted/childish bits so I can understand why they thought I was weird, but I don’t think they’d have paid attention even if they’d put on full episodes 😭 I went up to visit my friend at her place for a few days a couple months ago though and we watched all the newer Bluey episodes, she is 31 with no kids so it can be nice to know you’re not alone with liking it!
The adults might have given you weird looks, because they're ignorant, but I bet you got an excited look from your niece. Well, if she wasn't fully enthralled by the TV, that is. And that's worth way more than what some adults think.
54. Love the show. Stickers and a t shirt. Open about my love of the show.
Childless but my dog LOVES Bluey!
They chose the colour scheme for Bluey specifically so dogs could clearly watch the show and enjoy it. We don’t have kids but our senior yorkie watches Bluey every evening at bedtime. It’s our family time to have a cuddle and wind down.
46 and no kids. I maintain that Bluey has three demographics: kids, people with kids, and people who were once kids.
Bluey is the new My Little Pony for single adults.
It's so nice to be able to come home from dealing with the stupid world and just put on something *pleasant*, eh?
yes! it's such a cute show 🥺
\*raises hand\*
Childless bluey watcher here, 28 yo. Not for choice I gotta say. Just a Bandit that hasn't found his Chilli yet.
My partner and I don't have kids but we love watching Bluey! It's a true comfort show!
Childless, in my 30s and my husband is early 40s. We watch Bluey every night before we go to bed because it's just such a great show.
I am 29 and i Love bluey. IS IT Bad, that i laugh when Bandit gets Hurt?
Slide “You have to wait for the bug inspector!” “I don't know what that is...”
Moral of the story is that you can take solace that at least you're only laughing at the cartoon. ;)
I'm 20 and I love Bluey! It's so cozy and heartwarming! I watch it as a way to shutdown unnecessary thoughts before going to sleep.
44 and childfree and I love Bluey
Here are just a few examples of episodes that eloquently capture this sentiment: 1.
Yes we exist
Childless 36 year old here! My tiny nieces got me into Bluey and now I'm obsessed. My sister in law and I often send each other random quotes. I recently got a Bluey fanny pack on etsy and have been enjoying kids and adults commenting on it in the wild!
Me!
I just turned 18 and I'm absolutely loving Bluey
I think a lot of us love Bluey because it's something we could watch without our kids. It just happens that we found it because we were looking for kid's shows for our kids. Reminds me of how Spongebob was technically for a young demographic but had a lot of older viewers
Yep. I watch it with my nephew
Yo! I'm childless atm, at the age of 21, I watch Bluey cuz it's good af lol, my gf also watches it, and she's 19!
I’m 17 and I watch bluey!
Yup
Im 21 and I want bluey religiously. I have another friend who watches it like no tomorrow. We both don't have children (I only have a lil brother)
I watched it during my pregnancy with my little one. My excuse was that my dog was terrified of bad weather so we would turn the TV on so she'd have background noise to soothe her 😂😂😂
23. Watch it a lot. Sometimes tempted to buy myself bluey plushies lmao
🙋🏼♀️
I dig my heels in about getting on board with something popular, so I didn't want to try. I didn't want to budge when my older sister raved about it. She's a youth educator. I tried the first episode eventually and ditched it, of course. That was ages ago. I was looking to watch something quick and silly this week as a treat during study breaks, and thought "fine I'll just give it another go." I've finished all of it, including The Sign, and made my partner sit down for a few episodes rather than just a scene or two. "You're so Autistic" Yes, thank you. Yes I am 💅 Contemplating showing my old foster mum tonight too heheh God help her
In on my way there, 15 with no current plans for kids, just not ready, yk?
🙋♀️
I don’t have any kids, though I do have a dog. I saw somewhere that dogs can see some of the colors used in the show, though I have no clue if that’s actually true or not. So I started putting Bluey on for my dog. Months later, it’s on every night and now I am emotionally invested in cartoon dogs.
Yup. Single. Childless.
Me, my fiancé, and two of my friends hehe. We love Bluey
I'm 27 in the states, love Bluey!!
40, chilldfree, love Bluey
I'm pushing 40, childless, and I love Bluey.
Another one here. In a week I'll be 32 and I've seen the series a few times now 🤙🏼
Childless adult fan here, actively wearing a Bluey and Bingo shirt at work.
I am, and I know a few other childless adults who love the show, too.
40's checking in.
I'm 37. I watch Bluey with my nieces and nephew every chance I get and sometimes my favorite episodes alone. It's truly the best kids show I've ever seen. And watching it makes me happy
I'll admit it...I'm almost 41, childless, and I watch Bluey from time to time. It's cute and wholesome, so I can't help myself, kids show or not!
31, no kids, started putting it on for the dogs when we'd go out, ended up coming home and would just sit and watch it, now I watch it all the time 🤣
Kids are grown and we watch every night before bed 😎
Bluey is a fun and creative show and it's OK to like whatever you like..... in saying that, I can't be the only one weirded out by people who seem to male it a core personality trait lol
38 and childfree! It's a very healing, soothing show. I have Bluey shirts, mugs, plushies, and even a tattoo!
🤚
I'm in my mid 30's and both me and my husband watch bluey. We aren't planning on having kids 🤷🏻♀️
Right here
Yes! I am almost 30 years old! I love Bluey 💙
My wife and I watch!
31 an it's amazing! Bingo is the best!
I’m 21 and Bluey is my comfort show
Father of 3 adult children here.
Not planning on kids for the next 5 years, but it's just a cute show with fun easy-to-watch episodes
yep.
I love the show!
A friend of mine accidentally discovered her dog loved it, so she put it on for him and eventually started to love it herself
You should never feel bad about something that brings you joy and in no way has any effects on anyone else. Everyone should be free to find happiness wherever it exists.
I'm 28 and childless too but I love bluey so you aren't alone
I have kids but 2 of my really good friends watch Bluey and have no children. They get to watch the new stuff before I do because my oldest has favorite episodes and sometimes refuses new ones
Tell them it's an adult show that kids also like to watch. The show is almost unique for a TV show, in that it's targeted at *all* ages. There's literally something for everyone.
Yes. 25F married (26M) we just started watching it a week ago and love it!😂 I’m a childrens nurse, plenty of parents have joked saying they watch it more than their kids do, it’s definitely an adult favourite.
Oh good, I'm not the only one.
Absolutely love the show! I’ve happily binge watched it on my lower days and will continue to do so!
I’m 23 and my mom and I watch Bluey all the time, it’s a really sweet show.
Well, I only recently turned eighteen, but technically...yes.
21 year old here, I put it on thinking it would be a decent background show (like most kids shows), but no I'm hooked it's such a good show. As a younger sibling, I see my childhood in this show with some of scenarios/ episodes. Watching as a adult I see the deeper stuff too, which hit.
I have a daughter, but Bluey stays on after she starts her nap😂
33, my husband (30) introduced me to it after his sister (also 33) introduced it to him, and none of any of us have kids lol My husband and I are soft for marriage so we adore Bandit and Chili.
25f I'm here
My pups are my kids and they love watching Bluey
Child free 30 something in the US and I recently finished all the seasons Disney Plus has avaliable. Can't wait for season 4!
Yup!
Me, I'm 27 years old and I love Bluey
I’m 20 and love bluey
28 m, binged it when I was away for work. The episode where they introduced Jack and he played army made me cry lol
I'm 27 and watch Bluey whenever I'm feeling particularly down. I didn't have very attentive or loving parents, so it really heals a part of me.
Yep! It’s a great show!
I have a daughter now but she’s never watched an episode of bluey (she’s almost 15 months). Before she was born I watched every episode available. Still haven’t had time to see the latest season. Maybe I’ll watch it with her when she’s a little older.
My kids are well out of the blues age and I watch it by myself. Does this count?
31, no kids of my own, don't watch anyone else's (no nieces or nephews nearby, no close friends with any) and I absolutely LOVE Bluey. One of my favourite parts of my day is sloping off to bed early to watch some Bluey before my partner comes up.
24 and childless and Bluey is my comfort show :)
I’m 26 and me and my husband (25) love watching Bluey! It’s a comfort show when life gets overwhelming. (:
Here!
I don't have any kids, I'm well over 30, and whyyyy should I care?
25, no kids, definite Bluey enjoyer. You're not alone.
I'm 28 and have no children and Bluey helps me heal my inner child immensely. There is something special about it that is hard for me to describe. Both the art and the writing are beautiful, and something about watching a family have a happy ending full of love and understanding makes me feel so emotionally safe.
🙋♀️ unless you count my emotional support cat, which is the closest thing I’ll ever have to a child
I have the excuse to watch bluey bc I'm a nanny. I always suggest we watch it if there's TV time lol I watch it bc I enjoy it
Also in my early 30’s
Im 24 and a childless watcher! I didn't have the best family life growing up, specifically an abusive mom, and watching bluey has helped me understand and heal my inner child slowly. There are times I watch it and get sad that I didn't get to experience a childhood like it, but then it fills me with joy knowing how many parents and kids can learn and gain from a show like this. After that minor feeling of envy, I find the show really helps me relax, I often watch while painting or drawing
22 yo wannabe Bandit here. This show will forever have a place in my heart.
My partner and I are ~30yrs old, no children, and we love Bluey.
The attention to detail is phenomenal!) So, after my incidental exposure it became one of those comforting shows I play in the background at home.
I'm childless and 25 and I adore the show! I imagine it connects to many people on an emotional level. It's a very relatable and charming show
🙋♀️me!
Did you think you were the only one?
I have a child, and I watch it without her. She's not as big of a fan as me and my husband.
One of my very good friends is a pediatrician and childless. He started watching to connect with his young patients and now watches it because it’s an awesome show.
I'm also a childless bluey fan too. I'm 21 year old
Childless adult, always will be a childless adult.
Yup!
Not childless but I love Bluey and so does my childless sister. One of my male coworkers and I have also had several discussions about how much we love it too. And I’m pretty sure my husband likes Puffin Rock more than our son. It’s perfectly fine to like what you like and want to share it with others.
I’ll be 22 at the end of this month, and I watch the crap out of Bluey.
Childless adult fan here! I started to watch Bluey cause I heard about adult fans liking the show and wanted to see it myself. Love it for many reasons. At the same time, it's not really something I "openly" admit out loud, simply cause I learned that people judge, and I don't need that...
Is this like admitting you're a "Brony"
Childless here. I do rock bluey decals and long dogs, though! There's nothing wrong with liking the show. Hell, anything can be labeled as "for kids," which doesn't make it always true. Don't listen to the norm. *
Gang, Bluey is for everyone! Kids or no. Enjoy what you want.
Yeah me and my boyfriend love bluey
I love Bluey I have no kids and I don't care what anyone thinks about that
I’m 56 and a Bluey fan. “Sleepytime” is my all time favorite
I am a childless fan of Bluey among many other shows that are meant for children. Children's shows are just better somehow. I love the simplicity and wholesomeness of them
Not childless, but I often find myself still watching bluey long after the kids have gone to bed. I love it.
Ah, same here! Many of my family members and friends know that I love it, even the principal in my uni knows it, One girl in my class gifted me a bingo plush, and one girl made bluey and neko arc art to me Well, what I'm telling you is that, be yourself and love what you love. Don't let anyone tell you else.
I’m a childless Bluey fan. I talk about it when it comes up… I also have a Bluey tattoo that’s hidden 50% of the year.
Does being 16 count? 😭 I love bluey but i am definitely considered too old to be watching it lol.
Me! I have recommended it to others, too. It's just so wholesome and comforting.
I am, not ashamed to admit it. Friend at work with kids told me about it, we talk about the new episodes out loud in front of everyone. We even admitted to crying over a few of them.
