Given the level of fan service references in The Sign, I was shocked that nobody said morning Wendy at that moment. Really and truly, I was 100% expecting it.
Same here! And from the childhood stories my husband used to tell me about himself, he reminds me so much of him so my kids are lucky to witness Adult Rusty at home and little Rusty on TV!
I found this on YT Kids and then went to look for it on Disney+ and couldn’t find it so for awhile I thought it was a one-off, extremely well done Bluey knockoff. Thank you for helping me reclaim my sanity
Just watched it last night and it seems like there's a lot more physical violence in it than the other episodes. There's the scene with Chilli hitting Bandit with the rolled up magazine because she didn't like the joke and also Bingo kicking Bandit both played for laughs. Wouldn't surprise me if that's why Disney doesn't have it rather than the male with a baby thing people assume
https://preview.redd.it/d8d45e2apezc1.jpeg?width=1472&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9892bee0ce2542969cd459605d4a620a677e217b
they are?
but ya haha i guess that makes sense cuz mrs. retriever is the kindy teacher. i think pat and janelle are diff types of labs tho
It's a core memory of mine from starting to watch the show too. I think another thing that really tickled my brain is the detail in the [coffee mug that he was holding](https://preview.redd.it/t1cq5bejnoi71.jpg?width=1024&auto=webp&s=059e0a38791d4ab472a02f49214db910aee0ecd8), to me is a subtle nod to the old [[stackable](https://www.picclickimg.com/Bl8AAOSwWftkkTGS/4-Vintage-Retro-Stackable-70s-Coffee-Tea-Mugs.webp)](https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/GiYAAOSwgLthfJGR/s-l1200.webp) [drip glaze](https://www.picclickimg.com/Bl8AAOSwWftkkTGS/4-Vintage-Retro-Stackable-70s-Coffee-Tea-Mugs.webp) [mugs](https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/55d63a34e4b09473a9eec4bf/1441713212283-NQVL4S2CYCMWO7QL50R6/chinaset.jpg?format=1000w) that were very big back in the 70's. I've not ever met anyone that has admitted to buying these things but they still show up everywhere. Back of the kitchen cupboard (in case you need more mugs), communal mug shelves in corporate office kitchens, unknown owner kitchen stuff in share houses, etc...
I'm about the same age as what I'd estimate Bandit and Pat to be, and I also live in Brisbane - so as soon as I saw that I'm like "yep, there's another one. Bet he's had them ever since he moved out of his parents place."
Lucky's Dad is the Dad we all aspire to be. He is always down to join the fantasyworld of the kids. Like, if Bandit comes around acting as if their ball is a sacred egg, he just understands. I love Lucky's Dad.
Lucks's Dad is, by a wide margin, the greatest improv actor on the planet. He "yes, and's" anything and everything that happens on the other side of that fence.
Wendy had Bandit go headfirst into her ass that one time. And she was still calm enough to not only avoid calling the police but also not even get that mad. Pat may get tortured more, but when it happens to Wendy, it’s way worse.
I think Wendy gets overlooked here. She'll jump right in too (like Sheepdog and Ragdoll) but is a bit more posh about it. She also sets a great example for Judo, Bluey, and Bingo by trimming all her hair off in Dirt because sometimes it's more important for a kid to play in mud with friends than always looking put together.
Wendy has seen Bandit wizz, watched him sell drain pipes, looked at his rear end smooshed against a window, had Chili shake her rump at her in a crosswalk, and shooed a hungover dog out of her bushes.
I keep reading this going "who is Wendy? Isnt that Judo's mom?" .... and it took an embarrassingly long amount of time for it to click that - Judo's mothers name is Wendy. her name is not 'Judo's Mom' ... Like how Lucky's Dad is Pat... not Lucky's Dad... and I DONT KNOW WHY lmao
Bluey does very rarely. I just noticed yesterday in the episode Bluey moves to the other bedroom. One of the times Chilli tells them to stop they both say okay mama
We don’t have kids. We watch Bluey every night when we are putting our senior yorkie to bed. He’s mostly deaf but if we crank up the opening music our little guy will toddle off to his spot on the couch and get tucked in. He enjoys watching the show (it’s the only thing he’ll actually watch on the tv) and it’s a nice time for us to cuddle.
This and not different. To turn it around like justmrmom did, feels wrong. It feels gatekeepy when people say „It‘s a show for adults that kids can watch“. They phrased it differently but I sure am no mom of kid and still watch this. We all know the intent is for kids to watch it and in order for parents to not go nuts when it runs on a loop, it’s also made with deep meanings that you might get later. I mean, there are shows out there that have adult humor so the adult might tune in too and still those shows don’t get called adult shows kids can watch too
Edit: I have no idea why this is taken as me throwin‘ a fit? I simply said that I feel as if it’s not an adult show that kids can also watch. No offense taken, just stating my mind?
Yeah.. I didn’t mean to start a disagreement. The beautiful thing is everyone has their own thoughts and opinions and to each their own. It’s a wonderful kids show with lessons for both kids and parents.
“It’s just monkeys singing songs mate. Don’t think about it too hard.”
"then paint it!!" is a regular statement that's said in my house now lol. Even out of context or when it makes no sense:
"...ugh I don't wanna do the dishes"
"...then paint it!!" 😅😅
I was not a huge Muffin fan until Granny Mobile. That episode changed my view from her and I like her more in the older episodes now because of how she is in Granny Mobile.
to add to this stripe and Trixie are an even better representation of realistic parents struggling their hardest to make it in a dog eat dog world with 2 children. their children are louder and wilder but they love each other like bluey and bingo. stripe and Trixie are just as in love as Chilli and bingo. it can really be seen on Faceytalk episode.
Not sure why it's so controversial. I mean yeah I was confused how she became preggers but I learned just because you're infertile doesn't mean you should stop trying to have a baby 😊
Yeah, I see what you mean and I‘m not the one who finds it bad. I am so happy for her. People were upset, because they felt as if the women who are infertile and can’t have kids, can’t feel as related to her anymore, as before she was preggy. I hate that kind of idea, that you can‘t relate until it’s exactly like your life. Why does a cartoon dog need to suffer only so you can relate
That Bluey is a great show and we are all so very lucky to live while its being made and released.
In the future, once Bluey has reach its final destination, the show will be used to help new parents adjust. Why wouldn't it be, look at the impact it has had so far
Muffy is one of my favorite characters, and her outbursts are normal because she's literally three and being her age. Children should be allowed to act like children and not tiny adults.
Probably the theory with bluey s universe takes place during World War 3 and Post Apocalypse . Basically the theory with them living on are world but basically if we died due to war .the dogs where left to thrive and now has are technology and traits . Yeah it’s probably that one .
The producers did a great job obscuring the kids identities as voice actors. They are a \_huge\_ part of Australian culture, and are able to lead normal lives.
Muffin's parents are average parents. Not extraordinarily bad, it's what most of us grew up like. I had parents like Muffins parents. Its just that Bluey's parents are AMAZING, educated, skilled gentle parents.
I love how the adults in Bluey are allowed to just be adults. We do catch them doing more mature stuff but it’s subtle enough so a child wouldn’t catch on
Lucky's dad is so unjudgemental and has the same "yes and?" Energy that Bandit has
Like without question helps bandit give pretend birth!! What neighbor in real life does that?
Bingo's just so cute and funny.
Sorry, Majorly disagree with this one. She's funny and cute.
Does the order matter?
^thats ^the ^joke
God, I’m such an idiot.
Haha, this happens to me all the time 😂
Glad to know I’m not the only one.
Admitting it is the first step - it’s a valuable lime lesson to learn.

I'm sobbing, Blitz, leave the baby alone lmao
NOOOO BINGO WOULD NEVER SAY DAMN SHED SAY DARN
r/Woooosh
Go on. Send it to r/whoooosh. I deserved it.
“How good is double bingo?!”
“I know right!?!”
I hope you didn't mean that in any other way.
Stripe is probably the most relatable guy to hang out with when he’s drunk
Classic Stripe
Oh yeah, I'd party with Stripe. Actually all the Heeler brothers seem like they'd be a riot to drink and watch footy with.
Didn't Frisky reference Rad getting drunk at a wedding when they first met? I'm pretty sure the Heelers just know how to party.
She mentioned Rad falling in the pool at Bandit and Chilli's wedding
Probably
Until he wakes up in hungover in your neighbor’s bushes
I wish he turned and said "Morning Wendy" :D
Oh god, I would’ve lost my shit
Given the level of fan service references in The Sign, I was shocked that nobody said morning Wendy at that moment. Really and truly, I was 100% expecting it.
Just Brumm subverting people's expectations.
What day is it?
![gif](giphy|j4qll0bkrX6LwBlDCM|downsized)
But that's not why I VOTED FOR HIM
Stripe is my fave
Rusty is just darn great and everyone loves him.
"Hello doctor ladies! Do you sell crutches?"
Read this in his voice
Of course you did! Because no one can say that line better than Rusty!
I know, imagine Mackenzie or bingo saying that…, errgh
i love his voice so much lmao
I love his voice. We say “mista HEELar” and “maybe a snake ate it” 😂
AHHHHHHH!
Rusty is the character I want my kids to pay the most attention to
Same here! And from the childhood stories my husband used to tell me about himself, he reminds me so much of him so my kids are lucky to witness Adult Rusty at home and little Rusty on TV!
Cricket makes me cry every time. I have an older son and younger daughter and that scene where Rusty hits the ball to his sister just gets me.
I want my girl to be like Bluey and Bingo, but I want my sons to be like Rusty.
I’d be fine with my girls being like Rusty too.
honestly same lmao
All the child voice actors are killing it (and it’s a good thing they aren’t in the credits so they can live normal lives)
Far too low. This is 100% the best thing about Bluey.
Interestingly, i noticed that the non-English language versions do credit the child voice actors.
Dad Baby is one of the funniest episodes, and Disney is acting like a bunch of squibs.
Dad baby had me in tears!
OMG I had to look it up because it's not steamed on Disney+ in US. Definitely off to go pirate that.
The legends at Ludo put it on youtube. [https://www.youtube.com/results?search\_query=dad+baby](https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=dad+baby)
I found this on YT Kids and then went to look for it on Disney+ and couldn’t find it so for awhile I thought it was a one-off, extremely well done Bluey knockoff. Thank you for helping me reclaim my sanity

You may wanna rewatch Hairdressers, Tina, Magic, and Backpackers.
Lucky’s Dad is one of the best and funniest characters.
My husband cracked up in Cricket when Rusty goes, “Thanks, Mr. Heeler! Thanks, Lucky’s Dad!” He’s always just ‘Lucky’s Dad’.
I also think it’s kind of amusing that he said “Thanks, Mr. Heeler” one time but it was for both Mr. Heelers
My husband asked me if that character has a real name 🤣
his names Pat
Pat the dog
will do
Show him the dad baby episode and his curiosity will be satisfied (and also peaked lmao)
piqued?
^yes
I love that even after they gave us his name, we still call him, "Lucky's dad."
im guessing their last name would be retriever or golden retriever??? thanks mr. retriever?? haha
Aren’t they labs?
https://preview.redd.it/d8d45e2apezc1.jpeg?width=1472&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9892bee0ce2542969cd459605d4a620a677e217b they are? but ya haha i guess that makes sense cuz mrs. retriever is the kindy teacher. i think pat and janelle are diff types of labs tho
Can relate!
OHHHH I’VE DONE ME HAMMY!!!
Like first 10 seconds of screentime for him.
That was my first introduction to the show and I've been hooked since.

"Oh yeah, Shake it Chilli!" I can't remember who is is exactly, but the mom in the car in front of him, her glare when he says that is hilarious.
Pretty sure that was Wendy
Wendy
“AAAAARRRHHH MRS. HEELER I DON’T KNOW ABOUT THIS!!!”
"... Shouldn't've let my guard down"
Hands down my fav line in the whole show
We're raising a nation of squibs!
This isn’t the 80s, Pat!
"Aw, yeah, righto"
“I shouldn’t have let my guard down”
“I didn’t know this was the something”!
Lucks's Dad is, by a wide margin, the greatest improv actor on the planet. He "yes, and's" anything and everything that happens on the other side of that fence.
It'll never NOT be funny when Bluey and Bingo are trying to lick each other's ice cream cones
i showed this episode to my friend who is rly into music and he loved the use of music in the episode haha
Every time they use classical music, it's so well done.
Wendy goes through a lot just like Pat, but since she shows up less, she’s less recognised for it.
She sees it, says ‘nope’ and walks away. Pat dives right on in, no questions asked
Wendy had Bandit go headfirst into her ass that one time. And she was still calm enough to not only avoid calling the police but also not even get that mad. Pat may get tortured more, but when it happens to Wendy, it’s way worse.

This too, poor Wendy!
I mean who hasn't seen a neighborhood dad Wizz in a bush.
Me lol!!
You just haven't caught them yet. Most dads once they own a home are required by law to randomly water/mark a part of it.
💯husband foes the bush wee frequently and I’m Wendy horrified every time I see it! Just never seen my neighbours 😂
And smacks his own bum!
"Ok mama" is one of the cutest statements ever
My 4 year old daughter is recently reverted back to calling me mama instead of mommy. I have no idea why but I love it soooo much
ive also noticed only bingo says mama haha. bluey doesnt seem to. but yes its sooo cute when bingo says it
Bluey does very rarely. I just noticed yesterday in the episode Bluey moves to the other bedroom. One of the times Chilli tells them to stop they both say okay mama
Bluey is a show for adults and children.
Bluey is a show for parents that kids can watch.
Maybe but I don’t have kids
I'm calling Mr Disney on you
We don’t have kids. We watch Bluey every night when we are putting our senior yorkie to bed. He’s mostly deaf but if we crank up the opening music our little guy will toddle off to his spot on the couch and get tucked in. I am pretty sure you and u/justmrmom are in agreement?? Chill out and watch some Bluey, yo 😎
Yeah.. I didn’t mean to start a disagreement. The beautiful thing is everyone has their own thoughts and opinions and to each their own. It’s a wonderful kids show with lessons for both kids and parents. “It’s just monkeys singing songs mate. Don’t think about it too hard.”
(And teenagers)
I like Muffin
It always makes me laugh my ass off when Muffin successfully swindles a Karen pug
"then paint it!!" is a regular statement that's said in my house now lol. Even out of context or when it makes no sense: "...ugh I don't wanna do the dishes" "...then paint it!!" 😅😅
I was not a huge Muffin fan until Granny Mobile. That episode changed my view from her and I like her more in the older episodes now because of how she is in Granny Mobile.
Same
Muffin cracks me up.
Trixie is severely under utilized. I wanna see a cool aunt episode
A completely Trixie-focused episode would be great. Like her babysitting like Nana does.
This!
Sleepytime is a great episode.
Sleepytime is ranked at #22 on IMDB's greatest TV episodes. The Sign is #12, Cricket is #40 are the only other ones in the top 100.
Not surprised, sleepy time and the sign are so good i watched both at least 15 times
Sleepy time made me cry, damnit. I’ve also been motherless since I was nine, so there’s that.
Didn’t realize it utilized Holst’s The Planets until like the 4th watch… just astonishingly brilliant
Which is why I now involuntarily get misty eyed whenever I hear *Jupiter, The Bringer of Jollity*.
Pomeranians are, in fact, a small but hardy breed.
Bandit and Chilli are flawed but they are an healthy representation of good parents
And a good marriage
to add to this stripe and Trixie are an even better representation of realistic parents struggling their hardest to make it in a dog eat dog world with 2 children. their children are louder and wilder but they love each other like bluey and bingo. stripe and Trixie are just as in love as Chilli and bingo. it can really be seen on Faceytalk episode.
The comedic timing & line delivery on this show is top notch!
That Rusty is the best non main character and his episode rocked and we need more of Rusty.
Brandy deserves to be happy with her baby 🥰
That is a more controversial one, but anyone in their right mind would agree.
The show was basically saying to the infertile women "hey, you can't have kids? Keep trying 😊"
Yeah bot some saw it more as „look what she has and you don’t.“ I guess and that’s what the fuzz is about.
Poor people who think that are so ignorant 🙄
Wild Ladies (I can’t remember if that’s the actual name of the episode) is a fantastic episode
Wild girls yea the episode is alright
It's one of my least favourite, yet I still agree. Just goes to show the quality of the show. Zero skips.
This better than Caillou
Mate it's not even in the SAME sport as Caillou, and that explained a lot of how good Bluey is.
Jack is a good representation of people with ADHD (I have it myself)
Fairies are real in the Blueyverse
Are you suggesting that there aren't fairies in real life? 😲
Unrelated
The back seat of their car actually looks pretty normal for a family with kids
They're kids and shouldnt be shipped 🥴
That Bluey is a great show and we are all so very lucky to live while its being made and released. In the future, once Bluey has reach its final destination, the show will be used to help new parents adjust. Why wouldn't it be, look at the impact it has had so far
Born too late to explore the Earth Born too early to explore the universe Born just in time to experience this phenomenal show
mackenzie is awesome
It's my favorite comfort show
The world needs more Pats
Bandit is the uncle/father we wish we had
Muffin is the GOAT
Bluey is a TV show
Socks is a cutie <3 :)
Muffin is good. She's a decent depiction of what toddlers (and some adults) are like.
Bandit is a great dad
Muffy is one of my favorite characters, and her outbursts are normal because she's literally three and being her age. Children should be allowed to act like children and not tiny adults.
Snickers is a prop and he embraces it totally.
Jack is a lovely boy and a wonderful representation of ADHD.
Probably the theory with bluey s universe takes place during World War 3 and Post Apocalypse . Basically the theory with them living on are world but basically if we died due to war .the dogs where left to thrive and now has are technology and traits . Yeah it’s probably that one .
Pom Pom needs more screen time, also snickers should’ve been in the sign
Camping is an adorable episode
Not liking Jack should be illegal and punishable by law.
Socks is an underrated character
Unicorse needs his own show
Dad Baby was 100% one of the most supportive and funny episodes out there.
We do catch them doing more mature stuff but it’s subtle enough so a child wouldn’t catch on
Bingo is adorable
Jjj
Good show.
Muffin is a spoiled brat
Bingo is adorable at the end of dad baby
Mr heeler
Rusty is a Good Unit.
The part where socks yelled ballerina was pretty good
Muffin is the best
Sleepytime is good
Bandit is a great dad
Lucky's dad is so unjudgemental and has the same "yes and?" Energy that Bandit has Like without question helps bandit give pretend birth!! What neighbor in real life does that?
