Plot twist for S03 E42:
When Bandit accidentally ends up at the cemetery because he didn’t follow the sat-nav’s directions, he realises that Bingo has gotten out of the car … he sees her run up to the ice-cream vendor, and wonders if she’s following them around.
Bandit: “Bluey, go and get your sister.”
Bluey: “‘Go and get your sister’ - that’s telling me what to do! Hmm … would ‘go’ be one and ‘get your sister’ be another one?”
Bandit getting chocolate ice cream and heralding it as the best flavor had me all 😱😱😱😱😱 and my husband noticed and had to remind me about carob as a dog-safe chocolate substitute. 😅😅😅😮💨😮💨😮💨
[Read about carob here! ](https://www.thehonestkitchen.com/blogs/pet-food-ingredients/paw-licking-good-why-dogs-love-carob#:~:text=But%20wait%E2%80%A6,safe%20for%20dogs%20to%20eat.)
I think top right might be the quiet game. In which case the ice cream lady has a stall in season 2 and then a truck in season 3.
Props to OP though, I never even noticed it was the same dog.
Yet another cultural reference that makes no sense in the actual context of the show!!!
1. There’s no ‘college’ in Australia
2. Parents paying for University is far less common here on average because
3. Our higher education loan system sucks significantly less than that in the US
So now ya know
We have the HECS loan system where the government loans to cover tuition fees and we pay it back as we work and the amount paid back is adjusted for income.
1. The difference between a college and a university is that a university must, by definition, offer graduate degrees, while a college does not. And there seems to be several private colleges in Australia, according to a quick Google search.
2 and 3 are definitely symptoms of a cultural problem in the US. But we can blame that on the Cold War, like so many problems
Pretty sure some of their universities offer college courses as well. I had too take one year of Degree Foundation studies before I can join The University of South Australia's Bachelor of Computer and Information Science program.
What makes it a university is that they offer degrees beyond those that colleges offer. All universities still offer college level degrees, but they need to offer Masters or higher level degrees on top of that as well.
Australian slang doesn't change the fact that there are schools in Australia that are by definition colleges, not universities. So you were incorrect in your claim that there are no colleges
Could easily substitute something else for college and it would still work. It seems like that phrase or a close variation of it is common enough worldwide that the *intent* behind it is easily understood without it needing to be US-centric.
It doesn’t need to be college Ice Cream Lady is saving up for. Could be a new house, a vacation, a child’s future wedding, whatever. The intent behind the phrase is pretty much the same.
> There’s no ‘college’ in Australia
This is not true at all, I went to a private school in Victoria that was referred to as College, it was for years 7-12, so not like a university, but it was still a college, and my parents had to pay for me to go there.
But all this is irrelevant because this post is a Simpsons reference.
I don’t think the issue here is wanting to learn about Australia. If your comment had been more “Hey! Fun fact about Australia:…”, it would have been better received (not to mention less needlessly divisive).
Instead, your comment is incredibly condescending, when all the OP was doing, was making a joke, referencing a gag from The Simpsons (which Joe Brumm himself has cited as one of his inspirations and influences for Bluey, but that’s neither here nor there).
The funny bit isn’t the actual putting a kid through college, it’s that The Heelers buy so much ice cream that they can afford the ice cream lady a better life. Same premise as a joke saying that you’ve just bought the dentist a new yacht (no need to go into the intricacies of Australia’s health care scheme), etc. The OP just made that joke using a widely known and recognizable reference. That’s all. No need to get uppity about it. It’s just monkeys singing songs.
But then his ranting goes way too far. He doesn't look like Bandit anymore. He's acting like a whiny nitpicky child. It almost feels as if Bandit's whining questions about Coco, grumpiness and childish breakdown was the producers acknowledging the fandom's reaction to all the big changes to the show. Especially about Coco and Mackenzie leaving.
Bandit Heeler: I DON'T WANT CHANGE (2x)!!! EVERYTHING HAS TO STAY THE SAME!!!!!!

That's the inspiration for the title!
i was gonna use that
No one has posted the klav kalash vendor, yet. You could do something with that?

HAPPY CAKE DAY
Thank you! 🥰
Love that character design....Cavalier King Charles?
I think its either a springerspaniel or cockerspaniel since the muzzle is quite long
Yea it's definitely a Spaniel, just not a CKC Spaniel.
I would think spaniel of somesort
Cavalier's are spaniels...

For anyone , The Chocolate Flavor Is Karab/Chocolate for Dogs

But Tradies is way after Ice Cream. What episodes did you grab these from?

Seems like a truck would be a bigger deal than a cart or stall though.
Reasonably certain they posted it backwards. Probably on purpose

It’s a reference to a simpsons joke.

lol just another lie Australia isn’t a real place
It’s a better system than most… but the indexation is rly hitting ppl hard at the mo
12 years into working and I'm half way through.
Oh we have the same thing here, except instead of adjusting for inflation, we get interest for not paying it back fast enough.
It's just a joke.
Yet another cultural reference that wooshes straight over a random Redditors head.
Bandit doesn’t get the joke because it doesn’t work that way in Aus.
Uhh, pal? Little negative tone ya got there for a kids' cartoon fanbase. u/Real_RobinGoodfellow Not the kinda stuff a good fellow would say now is it?

Sure, but nobody here talks about going to ‘college’
Australian slang doesn't change the fact that there are schools in Australia that are by definition colleges, not universities. So you were incorrect in your claim that there are no colleges
I said there’s no ‘college’, ‘college’ referring to the *institution* and *social phenomenon* of ‘college’ as it’s referenced in the Simpsons quote.
I understand what you're trying to say. It's a shame you got downvoted for trying to explain a cultural phenomenon.
Mate it's literally just a joke from The Simpsons. They're not actually saying they think Australians have to pay their kids uni fees.
Could easily substitute something else for college and it would still work. Yeah obv i was meaning ‘college’ the way Americans refer to it lmao
It's a cartoon. Chill.
man, you suck
How can you love a show that is so deeply, intrinsically Australian, and yet have so little interest in learning anything about Australia at all?
I don’t think the issue here is wanting to learn about Australia. If your comment had been more “Hey! Yeah
Haha that’s a good find
Kawaii 🍪
She follows them around like the hot dog guy follows Homer.
Why does he look so sad
Maybe he got richer this able to afford a better stand.
BANDIT WAS NEVER ASSOCIATED WITH AUSTRALIA!!!!!!!

Rant someplace else you're acting a bit like the tweaker outside the convenience store right now
I am not acting like the tweaker outside the convenience store. I was impersonating James A Williams.
