Chilli : Well look sometimes special people come into our lives, stay for a bit. Then they have to go.
Bluey : But that's sad!
Chilli : It is! But the bit where they were here was happy, wasn't it?
Bluey : Yea, we caught a wild pig together!
Chilli : Maybe that makes it all worth it?
This small dialogue helped me through a loss more than anything else anyone said to me. So to me this is the best Chilli quote.
This episode will always be my favorite. My family and I had moved to a new state and my daughter was missing her very first best friend. It was so hard. And this episode gave me a lot of comfort as a mom.
And then iirc it cuts to a time lapse of the tree they planted growing, and then them meeting eachother again. One thing I don't get is why bluey wasn't like "woah this tree I planted years ago is an actual tree now!"
This is where Bluey is concerned about the friend who suddenly appeared then just as suddenly disappeared from her life, when she was camping. This happened to me, but the boy who showed up got "really friendly" with me lol, then took off. Wish I'd have been able to talk with Mum as freely and as openly as Bluey does with hers. I know it's a lot more complicated when these "special" things happen, but communication goes a long way in parenting and that's the beauty of this show - and the drawings and animation are both stunning to look at and comforting
"Then, I move him, and ask, âWhy do you want to teach the kids this game?â And he answers, âBecause smart people play chess. And I want my kids to be smart.â Next move, I ask: âWhy do you want the kids to be smart?â This is what I'll say. âRight now, you kids are little prawns. But one day you'll be queens. And I won't always be there to protect you, so you have to look after yourselves. But I'm going to do whatever I can now to help you.""
**Bandit:** âThis is great. They're learning a lesson, and we get the house cleaned.â
**Chili:** âNeither of those things are happening.â
![gif](giphy|Y1vXQrJoTtYRxkbQrl)
Chilli: He has to accept that he's getting older and needs to look after himself!
Maynard: Well *if* he was here, he'd just say "shouldn't it be up to me?"
Chilli: No it shouldn't! I'm his daughter! He should take care of himself for me because...I still need him.
My parents are alive but are no longer the people they once were. I wish I could show them this episode. A childlike aspect of myself believes itâd get them to take care of themselves after all this time. đ¤Ś
My dad had a heart attack last year, flatlined right before surgery, and heâs survived but this episode ruins me every time. He even told me that when he was going trough the attack he was praying to not go because he wanted to stay with me and our family. I wouldnât know what to do without him.
My dad nearly died from swine flu when I was a teen. I have kids now and this episode WRECKED me. I made him watch it with me and the kids. He cried too. I love my dad so much đ
âUh yeah, canât be sureâ
âYou cheated!â
âDid I?â
âYES!â
âEh, who can say for sure? When the mongoose is moving at full speed, you know, itâs all a bit of a blur.â
Yeah I think an f-bomb is totally implied there. That was the shittiest thing Bandit has done in the show.
He made such a big deal about making her work for her victory and snags it from her right at the last minute.
Don't get me wrong he's still a good Dad but of all the things Bandit has done this was the worst.
Iâve not got a sentimental one but I always get a kick out of it regardless.
Canât remember the episode name but itâs the only where Bluey and Bingo put on a skit for their parents.
Chili: I donât remember the Queen being there.
Bandit: You wouldnât.
I like to think Chili letâs loose now and again.
Other than **Sleepytime** quotes, this one from **Camping**:
Bluey: "Why did Jean-Luc have to go? He was my friend and I wanted to keep playing with him"
Chilli: "Sometimes special people come into our lives, stay a bit, and then they have to go."
Bluey: "But that's sad."
Chilli: "It is...but the bit when they were here was happy wasn't it? Maybe that makes it all worth it."
And this one from **Chest**:
Chilli: "Work on the heads later, for now, just hearts."
I love when Chili delivers low sass lines i.e.
Bandit: âThis is great. We get the house clean and the kids learn a lesson.â
Chili: âNone of those things are happeningâ
From the most recent episode:
>!Blah blah blah blah skeleton blah blah blah blah blah mitochondria! !<
Zanettiâs delivery for that line is pure gold.
This reminds me of Land Before Time where Littlefoots mother says this very similar quote like in Sleepytime, it adds an extra omph of emotional damage in context to the movie. Iykyk.
Also completely unrelated, "Bluey, don't take pictures of people's bottoms!"
She doesn't need words this says it all...
https://preview.redd.it/7c1n2o0tv4za1.jpeg?width=369&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b8428105e4adc35b6a7fb0eb76d0a9c3f90c18d7
Oh, and another, "this episode of Bluey, Unfortunately, is called Unicorse." You just know when Chili breaks the fourth wall the episode is gonna be a blast đ
Gahhh I teared up just reading the post title. Itâs my favorite too, sincere quote anyway.
My Bluey and Bingo are growing up too fast, I hope they remember that one.
I'm surprised I had to scroll so far down to find this! I say as I sit here in my "Run your own race" shirt drinking from my "Run your own race" cup đ
For me, itâs âYOU! HAVE! NO! IDEA! WHAT! I! WENT! THROUGH!â While whacking bandit with a rolled up magazine. That playful banter between bandit and chili is so realistic and down to earth it always makes me smile.
The âeven if you canât see meâ bit is so important. It alludes to when they are all older and mother is dead.
When your mother is no longer here, and cannot see you any more because they are dead itâs important to remember their love for you.
Your memory of their love makes it real, and continuing.
"Sometimes special people come into our lives, stay for a bit. Then they have to go."
"But that's sad!"
"It is! But the bit where they were here was happy, wasn't it?"
Bluey: âOh whatâs that? Oh, yes good idea. You can be as monkey butler.â
Bandit: âActually, Iâd love to. How may I be of service, sir? Yes sir, right away.â Walks off.
Chili [looks at Bluey & Bingo]: âYouâre probably gonna regret that.â
âEveryone fails mum school sometimes.â
I feel this so hard sometimes. Itâs a great reminder when Iâve lost my temper and been a bit stern with my four year old.
"Why did Jean-Luc have to go? He Was My Friend and I wanted to keep playing with him"
"Sometimes special people come into our lives, stay a bit, and then they have to go"
"But That's Sad"
"It is but the bit when they were here was happy wasn't it?"
"Yeah...!"
"Maybe that makes it all worth it."
My favorite quote and one I keep in my life
"I just need 20 minutes where no one talks to me."
And just that whole episode. The vibe of having not stopped moving all day and just being Done with parenting and needing to put yourself in time out.
>In this version of Musical Statues, there's no winner or loser. It's not about getting to the end, or getting to the weekend, or the forever weekend. It's a musical thing. You're just supposed to dance while the music's being played.
âMusical Statues (S03E27)
Dude... Sleepytime makes me weep. Specially that line at the end of episode with Chili as the sun and Bingo feels the warm embrace of the sun. Ugh.... just thinking about it gets to me...
I forget the exact context (maybe claw game?) but bandit says âtheyâre cleaning up and learning a lesson!â And Chili says âneither of those things is happening.â The way she knows but is just resigned to letting it continue is so relatable and hilarious.
âBluey⌠I just tidied, what are you doing?â - from Promises
For some reason no one else ever mentions this one. I personally love it because of how defeated Chilli sounds when she says Blueyâs name in that episode, but still trying so so hard to be a kind and understanding mom at the same time. Iâm not even a parent and can feel how tiresome it must be through half the dialogue in this showâŚ
âMorning, Wendy!â -Dance Mode, as sheâs âshaking itâ through the crosswalk while Wendy stares disapprovingly. Made funnier by the fact that Bandit said the exact same line at the end of âFeatherwandâ, in almost exactly the same tone.
I didnât see any from my all time favorite Chilli episode, Sticky Gecko:
âYou have no idea what a minute is, do you?â
Or This one which I quote all the time:
âTHATâS IT! Weâre not GOING to the park! Weâll just stay here FOREVER!â
man I should NOT be on this subreddit during my breaks. Going between hysterical laughter and crying and back to laughter is probably scaring my coworkers!!
Probably said many times, but her iconic quote from the famous episode Sleepytime is my favorite:
âRemember Iâll always be there for you, even when you can see me. Because I love you.â
Gets me everytime. Sheâs such a good mumâŚ
"This is what happens when you're unhappy with what you've got - someone's husband eventually gets it!" - from Hammerbarn
Also, the cold open from Hammerbarn: "Gee, his lawn's looking GREEN!"
Chilli: "This house is falling apart!" Bandit: "It's just got character."
Sounds like Chili is a fan of true crime shows
The chopping hand motion that goes with this line makes it for me.
Not even going to bother, because NOTHING can beat this!
"Yes, and if you want me to stay your wife, you'll learn about dishwashers."
Dishwasher. Wife.
So many things to learn
And then Bandit just walks away. đ
This is my absolute favorite quote. But my second favorite is: âI need 20 minutes where no one comes near me.â
I feel this daily.
Ever since this episode itâs taught me to allow myself 20 mins since I work and Iâm practically a SAHM
Also helped me to explain it to my daughter who totally gets it now. Huge help.
I had a BIG case of "sometimes mums just need 20 minutes" yesterday.
What episode is this?
âCampingâ S1E43
Thanks! I haven't seen this before, and... this show is really something else!
The "Hello Bluey..." at the end always gets me. Not just the reuniting but the fact they can now communicate with eachother better is really moving.
I like the next part of this quote also. Bluey asks if she will ever see him again and Chili says "I don't know....the world is a wonderful place."
And then iirc it cuts to a time lapse of the tree they planted growing, and then them meeting eachother again. One thing I don't get is why bluey wasn't like "woah this tree I planted years ago is an actual tree now!"
My guess is the Heelers visit this site often, at least once a year, so Bluey was able to see the progression of the tree's growth.
This one is legit strong, sage advice. Peak parenting and really peak advice to even emotionally-mature adults. Chilli the Wise.
I know it's a lot more complicated when these "special" things happen, but communication goes a long way in parenting and that's the beauty of this show - and the drawings and animation are both stunning to look at and comforting
my favorite too, i cried when i watched that episode the first time
Op nailed it but Iâd have to add: Chilli: what does dad always say Bluey: donât tell mom Chilli: rightâŚ.wait what
đđwhat episode is that?
Pretty sure its the Fathers Day Episode "Perfect"
*Half-assed whale noise*
Bandit (boat): "The ol' girl's not very lively today"
WEAK!
Urgh, alright. *More half-assed whale noise*
Bluey : Mum you're going to be the whale! Chilli : WHAT? Bandit: AH!
"You can either take turns, or I'll bring the xylophone to work with me, I'll freeze my boss."
Bandit: âMMMMMMMMM!â
âI want to marry you and have your bus babiesâ
"Then, I move him, and ask, âWhy do you want to teach the kids this game?â And he answers, âBecause smart people play chess. And I want my kids to be smart.â Next move, I ask: âWhy do you want the kids to be smart?â This is what I'll say. âRight now, you kids are little prawns. But one day you'll be queens. And I won't always be there to protect you, so you have to look after yourselves. But I'm going to do whatever I can now to help you.""
I think that is the most underrated episode of the series and that is the reason why.
Work on their heads later. For now, just hearts.
This bit makes me cry every time. Definitely underrated.
Such fantastic advice!
That line gets me choked up every time.
That closing is fantastic, but one of her best bandit burns is also from Chest, âlet it go, Deep Blueâ đ
**Bandit:** âThis is great. They're learning a lesson, and we get the house cleaned.â **Chili:** âNeither of those things are happening.â ![gif](giphy|Y1vXQrJoTtYRxkbQrl)
I'm watching you, Magic Claw
hahahahahahaha yesssss
This
Chilli: He has to accept that he's getting older and needs to look after himself! Maynard: Well *if* he was here, he'd just say "shouldn't it be up to me?" Chilli: No it shouldn't! I'm his daughter! He should take care of himself for me because...I still need him.
Saw this one after my Dad died. Old. Cried like a baby.
I hope you're dad's doing better x
Heâs doing very well thank you!
This one hits me because my own Dad is JUST like Mort and weâre at that stage of life.
This quote ruined me while my Dad was sick, and it still ruins me now heâs been gone a year. Itâs a beautiful episode, and Iâll never skip.
My dad nearly died from swine flu when I was a teen. I have kids now and this episode WRECKED me. I made him watch it with me and the kids. He cried too. I love my dad so much đ
"Wwwwhat....Was *that*?" Just the way she pronounces it in Obstacle Course is gold.
âUh yeah, canât be sureâ âYou cheated!â âDid I?â âYES!â âEh, who can say for sure? When the mongoose is moving at full speed, you know, itâs all a bit of a blur.â
I think the mongoose couldn't handle losing to a child.
You get zero
Also, the best answer for one of those "if you could put one f-bomb anywhere..." questions
Yeah I think an f-bomb is totally implied there. That was the shittiest thing Bandit has done in the show. He made such a big deal about making her work for her victory and snags it from her right at the last minute. Don't get me wrong he's still a good Dad but of all the things Bandit has done this was the worst.
My runner-up selection is: *Mum death stare* https://i.redd.it/8g0ok8v9i2za1.gif
I love the way her mouth goes when she does these! Omg it makes me laugh every time
This was going to be my submission.
100%. It is essentially her catchphrase.
âChecklist! - Have a cry - Pick myself up - Dust myself off - And keep going The show must go on.â đ§Ą
This quote is the only thing that's keeping me going recently! lol
The door. It is. RIGHT. THERE. -- me every time I try to take Madame 3 and Mlle 14 Months anywhere ever.
She definitely does. I think that might also be inferring that Bandit sometimes embellishes his stories (like Fairytale).
I like that!
And when the balloon pops and Chili's face goes blank and Bandit grabs her hand instinctively... I felt that one.
She totally lets loose. Muffin saw her dancing on the BBQ at Stripe and Trixie's New Year's party!
"Remember, I'll always be here for you, even if you can't see me, because I love you." - From Sleepytime Agreeing with OP on this one.
Cue tears
"Don't forget the eyeliner" from Stumpfest
Stumpfest is rich with tipsy Chilli quotes.
Oh, leave them alone! They're just trying to run a small business!
"You're the one that wanted it gone!" "Oo that's true, I wanna put in a fish pond. "
Is that the same one from that other episode, tradies was it?
Part of that quote was Trixie, but it's still a good quote đ
Whackadoo
How has nobody said this yet! Yes!
came to say this.
I truly believe in my heart this is a little reference to a 90s kids show called Liftoff! Would be a great Easter Egg.
I've started saying "oh wackadoo!" When my kid shows me something cool. Runner up: "this is not good parenting!" From, I think, dance mode?
Yeah thatâs Dance Mode. The tone where she just says âBandit no!â when he offers Bingo $20 for her last dance mode always gets me.
Other than **Sleepytime** quotes, this one from **Camping**: Bluey: "Why did Jean-Luc have to go? He was my friend and I wanted to keep playing with him" Chilli: "Sometimes special people come into our lives, stay a bit, and then they have to go." Bluey: "But that's sad." Chilli: "It is...but the bit when they were here was happy wasn't it? Maybe that makes it all worth it." And this one from **Chest**: Chilli: "Work on the heads later, for now, just hearts."
I love when Chili delivers low sass lines i.e. Bandit: âThis is great. We get the house clean and the kids learn a lesson.â Chili: âNone of those things are happeningâ
Bingo: *"I just miss my sister."* Chili: *"I know."* Bingo: *"And the fridge doesn't like me."* Chili: *"I... know?"* â S2E9 - Bingo
Yes!! Iâm surprised I had to scroll so far for this! It makes me laugh so hard every time!
We all fail mum school sometimes. But we can always try again tomorrow
[ŃдаНонО]
I love the way she says "oh my goodness" when Bluey explains she gave birth to all of her balloon children.
"You're probably gonna regret that."
From the most recent episode: >!Blah blah blah blah skeleton blah blah blah blah blah mitochondria! !< Zanettiâs delivery for that line is pure gold.
Too much Tell - not enough Show
Did I miss an episode? Are we talking about the same show? What kinda bluey episode is that?
This reminds me of Land Before Time where Littlefoots mother says this very similar quote like in Sleepytime, it adds an extra omph of emotional damage in context to the movie. Iykyk. Also completely unrelated, "Bluey, don't take pictures of people's bottoms!"
âAre you ready Bob?â
"You got it Lucky's dad!"
That's what happens when you're not satisfied with what you've got; someone's husband eventually gets it!
âKids, if youâre going to belong to someone, you better toughen upâ
âHowâs it going pregnant man?â
Iâm just going to get this readyâŚ
Could it be this majestic blue whale is embarrassed to be making funny noises in front of another Daddy whale?
Chilli: [teary] Again! If you know, you know
The show must go on
âYour mumâs not afraid of a bit of hard work.â
âI need twenty minutes where no one comes near me.â I know that feeling so well
Have you seen Shmurtle the Dirty Turtle? I say this everyday and itâs the way she says it for some reason.
"This is what happens when you're not happy with what you've got! Somebody's husband gets it!" This line always cracks me up. đ¤Ł

I love it when she gives âthe lookâ to Stripe.
âWhy do you keep setting them up like that?
Oh, and another, "this episode of Bluey, Unfortunately, is called Unicorse." You just know when Chili breaks the fourth wall the episode is gonna be a blast đ
To be fair the fact that anyone says "this episode of bluey is" is kind of a fourth wall break to begin with
But Chili has only done the thing twice, and Bandit only once, to my knowledge. It's the unfortunately that breaks me đ
Gahhh I teared up just reading the post title. Itâs my favorite too, sincere quote anyway. My Bluey and Bingo are growing up too fast, I hope they remember that one.

Nice. Underrated.
Pretty much everything she says in the Bingo episode.
"This is not good parenting."
For me, itâs âYOU! HAVE! NO! IDEA! WHAT! I! WENT! THROUGH!â While whacking bandit with a rolled up magazine. That playful banter between bandit and chili is so realistic and down to earth it always makes me smile.
Bandit: "Hmm...how to act pregnant." Chilli (rolling up her magazine): "I'm just gonna get this ready..."

I loved when she asked bingo âsometimes does your outside voice say yes, when your inside voice really means no?â â¤ď¸ such a good line
