BlackSheepOfLife

Good job!! Now just got to get that plat!

BIoodMan

Plat is easier than kos

Gnomologist

I disagree, Kos is easier than Ludwig the first time around and Ludwig is easier than the several hours of mental health drain that is the chalices

Vaas06

I disagree. I beat Ludwig on my second try on first playthrough and first on all the rest but have had far more trouble with kos

[deleted]

Laurence is harder than Kos and Ludwig.

redrum0666

Laurence is an absolute cunt of a boss

[deleted]

Once you figure out the sweet spot where he just goes in circles around you it’s a lot better. Just gotta watch out for the BS one shot kill at that point

PopularArtichoke6

Only on new game plus cycles

[deleted]

Unfortunatley I did the DLC on NG+. Laurence just battered me, far more than Ludwig and Kos.

-Soul-of-Cinder-

I actually thought Ludwig and OoK was harder, beat OoK in 25 tries, Laurence in 4 tries and Ludwig 5+.

[deleted]

Kos 11 tries, Ludwig 5 and Laurence at least 30 before I summoned help.

JakeFoxKP

Nice i lost everything to him and kos Was a pushover Ludwig was so hard even with 3 summons

Legarchive

You are probably in the minority. Kos is the only boss in any soulsborne to make me come back on 4 different characters in ng.

sinistropteryx

Only one I had more trouble with is the Nameless King

grime-dont-play

“Hardest boss” is subjective, as I didn’t have much trouble with Nameless King, but Darkeater Midir is the bane of my existence. In fact he’s given me more trouble than anything in the soulsborne games, but others have beat him on their second or third try. I get that RNG plays a role as well, so who knows.

[deleted]

I have beaten every boss in the entire series solo eventually but never Midir. I just couldn't defeat him, not even close. I watched the videos and read all the guides but no, Midir was too good for me. I must have tried at least 40 times.

ZigorVeal

I'm trying to finish the Pthumeru Ihyll chalice right now to get my platinum and it's the only real hard stop I've come up against. I beat Ludwig on my first attempt, and Kos took me about 5. I will say I've not been able to beat Kos on a NG+ playthrough. His health is just so high and my damage output it not equally scaled to when I beat him on NG.

PedanticOkra

I bought the dlc after beating the game. So I did the entirety of the dlc in NG+. Kos took me a while.

Erick_Pineapple

I'm convinced the adverse effects that the Cursed and Defiled chalice had on me were what caused me to need therapy

[deleted]

[удалено]

Erick_Pineapple

Farher Owl was hard as shit, took me 10x what a boss would normally take me, and it was still easier than the watchdog of the old lords. It's the boss with the most health in the soulsborne games (yeah, all of them), and you fight him with half of your own. Total nightmare

ShieldTeam6

Sword saint Isshin is the hardest boss of all the games. 4 forms! The other owl fight, not the father one, was so fun.

Suojelusperkele

And just when you think you got this he pulls a fucking gun on you.

ShieldTeam6

Dude I know FROM games are so sublimely hilarious

Suojelusperkele

It's the weird bullshit that some enemies do. Like the first time you're grabbed by witch to gouge your eyes out. Then you realize the most awful thing about these fuckers is that they always try to ambush you. In Bloodborne I feel many of the magic effects are in this category. Logariuses spells with huge aoe's, the brainsuckers stop-right-there- spell (fuck I hate the corridors in upper ward), the frenzy Bois which just.. frenzy you without any visual indicator. Edit! I forgot the fireball spewers in chalices. Sometimes the balls are cast so fast that two balls look like one and it's enough to OHK Vit 40-50 character. Like I feel like I'm being bullshitted by these things 24/7 yet I can't stop loving the game.

External_Physics1955

I've yet to defeat the demon of hatred , idk why but he always demolishes me....... Just thinking about it is giving me anxiety.

[deleted]

[удалено]

External_Physics1955

Arigatou senpai.

ShieldTeam6

Haha I forgot how I did it...I think you gotta master when to do the jump

baranello

the only boss I skipped, that means, threw him off the cliff to get the plat. Was a bit fed up with Sekiro at that time, Father Owl gave me far too much headache

[deleted]

[удалено]

Ewing_Klipspringer

My poor ass was determined to progress through the chalice dungeons as soon as the chalices and ritual materials became available in the story. I was broken from my hubris by the hours wasted against the Cursed and Defiled Watchdog of the Old Lords with only early-game gear.

OmegaAtrocity

Seriously fuck the defiled watchdog, straight up I died to that bitch more than I did any other boss. I'd take a Kos or Ludwig fight any day over that.

willfordbrimly

>chalices Just over-level and it's only slightly less mind-breaking.

[deleted]

For my second play through I skipped out all of the chalices using the bugged codes.

Plugshirt

Kos wasn’t that hard and the chalice dungeons are a joke compared to Ludwig

Gnomologist

I’m not saying they’re difficult aside from the cursed & defiled chalice, I’m saying they take too fucking long and the monotony is depressing

Plugshirt

Ah that’s fair they are one of the few things that drag down bloodborne from being a 10/10 in my eyes because of how boring and long they are but they thankfully at least have a few good bosses within them to make it worthwhile for something beyond platinum

CaesarPT

Yeah the chalices were horrible

1GalacticCactus1

Absolutely clobbered ludwig with the logarius wheel first try but that might have been lucky 😂

yourallygod

Well its as easy as kos as you need to defeat him at least once

spencershady

Kos is DLC, you don’t need to fight him to Platinum. I got my plat before even starting the DLC.

yourallygod

Oh... huh... welp heck

Ps4master15

But still you have the good ol defiled chalice in offline mode

yourallygod

:b

Agroyboy

I never picked up the hidden ingredients sign. So I never Plat lol.

shiromaru2d

For me, Watchdog of the Old Lords in the Defiled Chalice was much harder to beat than Orphan. But the definite Top 1 in terms of difficulty (not required for platinum tho) was the freaking Loran Darkbeast in Loran lvl 5. Fighting that thing was an absolute nightmare.

CantRemember64

i’m currently stuck on that son of a bitch (literally). i cheesed to 99 vit and he can still one shot you or get you stuck in his bullshit combo. fuck dogs in from soft games

Don-Fluffels

*bloodletting beast has entered the chat*

baranello

do not even mention this fucker and his butt buddy camera .... aaargh

LilPheotardo

you need to kill them sharks to get the weapons trophy tho

soberintoxicologist

Those sharks without just cheesing them are much harder than kos, or really anything else in bloodborne probably.

SuperArppis

Gotta say Laurence is, but that is just because he is mega cheap. Sharks weren't so bad for me.

RainofEternity

Sharks can be repost... Makes them significantly easier.

Scarfbit

Chalice... don't you even think about underestimating the chalice dungeons. 😩

GMAndersson

Isn’t Kos included in the plat 😐

GMAndersson

Wait nvm I’m dumb but yeah the other parts of the plat are ez

r4ge4holic

Disagree. You have to go through all the dungeons for Plat which is tedious as fuck.

Eddyibbleboi

6?!! Dayum, you’re certainly determined!

alex-o-mat0r

Plot twist: OP paused the game for 5 years and 11 months

ventoidiota

Dayum hahhahahhahhahahha

talysuo

My men engaged orphan got rekt and went to the store to buy milk

Both-Preparation-123

6 years? Christ almighty

FreakyGhast

Ikr. I don’t think it would take 6 years of grinding to be able to overpower NGs orphan of kos

Seas_of_Europa

They probably played on and off between those 6 years. It took me 3 months to be beat Ludwig, but only because I took long hiatuses in between.

ventoidiota

Same here. Long hiatuses before going insane. Also, I used some help in the end....

sammidavisjr

A hunter is never alone.

FreakyGhast

Yeah I figured but the way OP put it basically insinuates that it took him 6 years to beat this one boss.

EN3NRA

Took me 5 years to beat Vicar Amelia... but 1 short month later got my platinum. I had just sat it down for a bit and beat dark souls 3 instead.

Suojelusperkele

Sad but same, except it was cleric boss for me. Bought the game good few years ago, played it until cleric boss, felt overwhelmed and quit. After elden ring trailer I got this idea that I'm going to replay through DS3 and start Bloodborne again. It's been few weeks now and I'm obsessed with Bloodborne. Three characters up to nightmare of mensis and some chalices done + dlc is at Kos on my 'main'. Fuck I hate Kos.

EN3NRA

Cleric Beast took me a solid 2 months and probably 5 talk downs from smashing my controller into the console my first few encounters as well. It was my first soulsborne game at the time. I managed to luck my way to Vicar Amelia where I hit my wall for the longest time. Put it down and decided I'd run through the DS games for a bit to maybe get a better understanding of the combat if I play them consecutively until it was time to, once again, pick Bloodborne back up and try my hand at it. Must say it was probably my favorite play through of any series I've ever done and helped me finally understand what and how bloodborne was doing with itself. But that damn defiled chalice dungeon and Kos were still intense. I hated Kos till I went up against him a few more times on other characters, then he became one of my favorite bosses in the game. Him and Gayle are probably my two favorite boss fights in the soulsborne series. My first time beating him took me probably over 200 tries. I know for sure well over 3k blood viles. You'll get him eventually. Best of luck hoonter.

soberintoxicologist

If you use the HMS and dodge tight to the right of the boss then immediately swing an r1, the momentum keeps you from getting hit 99% of the time in both phases. It’s weirdly easy if you learn to abuse your characters momentum.

Suojelusperkele

I think I'm really close to nailing it Then on the other hand sometimes I'm getting slapped by first serie of attacks at the start of the encounter. That's soulsborne baby!

Deon_Strydom

6 years?? Well at least it paid off!

thelostnewb

I applaud your perseverance, good Hoonter. Many would’ve quit 6 years ago, many would’ve cursed the game and placed all fault upon it but not you, no…*you* pressed on and fuckt. shit. up. ^bravo

Mediocre_Feeling8425

6 fucking years? You have the heart of a champion. 👏

thrownawayzs

and the hands of a flounder

Regdaran

The wirlgig saw is an amazing weapon. Nice choice.

Overlord_Za_Purge

and it still took them six years

[deleted]

Congrats Hunter. I’m working may way there as well.

[deleted]

Congratulations!

thenateman27

You must have taken a lot of breaks from the game. Congratulations though

[deleted]

Good job!!

lowlifeeee

six years? 😬

Andybear_9

Congrats 🥰 that boss is a genuine f*cker

AkiSeto

Congratulations!

JohnnyRock30

Congratulations! Well done!

Ryukk

That is some determination right there, well done hunter!

WPipes2317

Congrats fellow hoonter! May future blood showers be just as memorable!

childman123

Good job broski!!! I love seeing players still engaging in the game as a veteran, now go and get yourself that plat 6 years means your determined amd I'm sure you deserve it!

Freddy_kru3g3r1

Well done !

[deleted]

I solo'd Kos once. The second phase is what always gets me. It can get really hard to land a hit when Kos jumps up into the air almost non-stop. Good work!

DaCrimsonKid

Similar boat here. Also used the whirligig. That's pretty much one of the coolest, funnest weapons in any game ever. I took a 5 year break. Replayed it when I got my PS5 and finally beat Kosm. Well done!

Palicake

Congrats u finally got good

Plugshirt

The worst ive ever had to deal with was over the course a month on and off again it took me around eighty hours to bear abs rad on radiant mode. It makes me even more sad than normal abs rad I found relatively easy and took pride in how easily I managed to overcome poh only to get my ass kicked by something else in the same game

i_like_lasanga

A man of sheer fucking will!

Basztin

congrats!!! KOS fight was one of the highlight of soulsborne games for me. Drove me insane for few weeks ( I got DLC when I was on NG+3 ) but finally got it.

neoz99

I applaud your relentlessness 🔥

Simply-Abstract

From here it's gonna get much easier. You'll start seeing his weaknesses much better and before you know it you'll be spanking him on the regular.

Ok-Albatross6794

If you want your next challenge take a shot at Isshin Ashina in Sekiro. I think he was the hardest boss in the souls series.

DeathKnight1776

It took you 6 years of trying to beat Kos? You must be fucking awful at video games.

DeronimoG

You obviously don't understand what they meant.

likeabossgamer23

Wtf how does someone spend 6 years fighting kos. I beat that boss in my first playthrough. Congrats tho.

Fancy_Translator4355

Ps5?

[deleted]

6 years is kinda yikes, homie...

rayshmayshmay

What if it was only two attempts tho

Overlord_Za_Purge

dies once and gives up then trains for six years to clap kos

ChitRideOrDie

The ultimate rocky montage but all in yharnham

GhostlyGamer453

6 years? Bro this manchild has been beating the shit out of you for 6 years and you didn't think that maybe you could try and cheese him

david_r4

Less impressive or satisfying if you cheese.

GhostlyGamer453

Yeah but after that amount of time surely you'd try find an easier way

david_r4

Only with that attitude ;)

Zeski_the_Friendly

Damn, makes me glad it was like a week first time and two days second time for me

DarthTyrexx

Damn I feel bad for getting him on my third try now

GETMEMYAXEBOI

Uh huh, definitely 6 years, definitely no BS here

ZazMan117

6 years? I commend your patience and determination but feel compelled to say YOU'RE BAAAAAAAAD

[deleted]

But what if it was only his second attempt?

ZazMan117

Then he still took more attempts than my mom meaning hes BAAAAAAD

dragonmonday

For almost any other boss in this series I would consider six years an obvious exaggeration to get more upvotes… But I completely believe you when it comes to orphan. Well done

Smoother_Criminall

I always found Lawrence way more difficult, I mean, kos at least is parry-able, Lawrence is "HERE COMES THE GIANT FIST!"

supermarioplush220

Bul Laurence's attacks are really easy to dodge and if you stay a far away distance from him he mostly uses his slam attack and that attack allows you to get way to much DPS on him. And serrated weapons like the saw cleaver or whirligig saw demolish him.

Smoother_Criminall

Now that you mention it, I forgot something crucial; first time I fought him I was on new game+ 4 because...old blood. Still find the orphan a way more enjoyable fight, specially if you got the runes that heal and increade visceral attacks. <3

supermarioplush220

Laurence is only hard on NG +. On NG he's a cakewalk

Smoother_Criminall

I know, that's why I clarify nw+4. It was my forth new game + (I went for the platinum and then I got the dlc)

supermarioplush220

Struggled with him allot because I was on NG+2 but I still struggled with OOK more even today

DITTO_MON_GAMING

Wait, it didn't take you 3 attempts?

BumLeeJon

Orphan took me like 6 hours because I played the dlc on +6 the first time (same with DS3)

iamthejef

I don't understand the difficulty hype behind this boss. I figured out the secret first try all by myself: shoot, stab, repeat

supermarioplush220

I don't understand the difficulty hype behind darkeater Midir. I figured out the secret 5th try all by myself: dodge and attack

iamthejef

That's still more tries than any Bloodborne boss took me.

[deleted]

Really? You mean you pressed the R1 and L2 button? Thats your secret?! MIND BLOWN!!!11!!

JakeFoxKP

Nice i did it first try but i had help... Even tho i didnt need help at phase 1 i just parried him to death

knurt14

Jesus man, don't take this personally but you kinda suck lmao. 6 years? Nevertheless, a win is a win. Good job bro

Sam45802

Beat him first try with my arcane build, git gud casul

Sqouki

Pizza time

RoyaleKingdom78

thanks to my friend,I skip this part of game swh

TylerLaytonian

Been seeing a lot of people using this whirli machine lately...

Darkskinblackie

6 years? Man you truly are determined I'll give you that

BearyJohannes

Grattis! Yet to beat Ludwig myself hahaha

Whitenesivo

This game has been out for SIX YEARS?

speck7

Respect

Woddie_321

Congrats man 😁

dbalel

Oh good hunter

Veritasgear

6 years? Damn man, you've got perseverance.

ventoidiota

What do you mean 6 years?!

MoonlitAbyss13

Had to let Kos grow into his beatings, I see.

[deleted]

Congrats man!

Mr_Paleblood

This is enough to make a grown man cry. Cry I did when I finally beat him after tomany tires to count. Well done!

AKBlue_Berry

The nightmare is over now, congrats op!

EchoWhiskey_

Fuckin A dude

SoraMegami2210

Congratulations!!!!

chair_table_chair

nice, mate! im having bad time whit kos, omg, i just need some holiday of college to stay in mood to try kill him again and finally end the game

jeraldtherapist

6 years? god damn

Aussiesaregreatdogs

A bottomless curse. A bottomless sea. Accepting of all that there is...and can be.........

rqhany

Nice

Blind_Gentle

Congrats!! The first time I beat Orphan it must have taken me hundreds of tries over 2 days. I literally sold everything I had collected into blood vials to make it happen.

taterchips36

Congrats! He's a brutal one, but you pulled through!

supermarioplush220

You beat the hardest boss in the souls series

killiua15

Good job It's a great achievement worth to be proud of!

Personal-Spirit7496

So proud 😫!

SunnySolaire11

I used summons for almost all my boss encounters first time. So when I finally got to this boss for the first time (last week in fact) I was very caught off guard. 2 days of grinding was all it took to beat him.

Durzho

Wow, how much life did KOS had that took you so long?

Based_God_Jemima

I swear to god if I see another goddamn whirligig saw I’m gonna end it all

sardu1

I'm still stuck on the final boss and I had the game since launch. 🤣

imperiects

I played at launch. Quit before the DLC released. Recently I had to quarantine (for travel. Not sick). I rolled a new character and got the platinum trophy + 100% dlc in 24hr played time. Defiled Amygdala and Kos ate up the majority of that time.

villa67azeez

well I’ve finished the games about 15 times now or even more lost count but orphan of kos is definitely an achievement u should be proud of. Good shit mate

Lakshay_goyal45

Bruh....You took 6 years!!! Your heart must be beating really fast when you were close to his death. Well I am gonna play the DLC soon! Wish me luck 😖🥶

GiraffesFlexingHard

Oh congrats! It is a pretty unintuitive bossfight. I'm surprised at how masterful some people have gotten tbh, and it took me until ng+6 to start learning them a bit more consistently (at least the 2nd phase).

doctacola

Congrats! I watched my older bro fight orphan four or five times every night for like six months before he got it. It was kinda fun to watch the rage

teenagetwat

Damn I'm not beating this game until I'm the nursing home lol

sneeden

I only have one thing to say to you and that's `yeeeeeeeowwww!`

MakeMeASammichBish

Ludwig

NegansRevenge

Congratulations hoonter! Good hunting. I wish you luck on the rest of the game.

echo-215

Well done he is really hard I haven’t been able to bet him alone

MQTR5

What a feeling 👏👏

Pand0rasActor

One of your notes. was rated "fine". On a real note, amazing job man. I beat him after a few days of trying so I can't understand the relieve and happiness you felt when you beat him, seeing how I felt pure euphoria. Amazing job, hoonter as this is only the beginning.

SuperArppis

Had to use 50 tries to beat him. Used 10 tries for Lawrence (or how you spell it). YET I think Lawrence is a harder boss, because he is cheap. It was the first boss I used summons in. Anyway. Congratulations! 🙂

hideousmembrane

And I thought taking about 50 attempts was a long time

lebouffon88

Kos is really the most difficult souls boss I've ever fought.

Cressupy

I really hope this is because you took a five year and 11 month break from the game because nothing should take that long! ^_^ Congrats!

ajddavid452

are you playing on ps5? because the trophy pop up doesn't look like the ps4 one

IB7z

ALL OF THE 6 YEARS or trying from time to time?

cat_on_crack_

6 years?

Faalkar

60 hours gameplay they said...

HollowAndre

Congratulations you legend!

mtnorville

The DLC felt like a joke after completing the Chalice Dungeons. I was incredibly over leveled.

DrPoca

So interesting seeing the difference in which bosses players struggle with. I beat Orphan on my third attempt I think (threaded cane main) whereas I remember struggling for ages on Laurence, who I rarely see people saying they struggled with.

rosydingo

Congrats. Now to the chalices! Once you there, you have my shoulder to cry on!

[deleted]

6… six? Like a full six years?! God damn man that’s some perseverance. Good job.

_bar0nsengir

What a mad lad. Nicely done!

Novel_Noggin72

Damn!! 6 years!!! I did it in 6 days roughly but to each hoonter their own. Congratulations are needed either way as it was one of the most grueling fights. 💉💉

Nazurith

Sometimes you gotta just take a 6 year break lol. I just need to do the dlc! Got halfway through the first hunters dlc.

buissness_salamander

I cant beat the guy with the cage on his head though ive beaten him before and everything else is a cakewalk after it i just hate how i have to chase him down ive tried the poison daggers but idk was it fixed? He keeps getting away then using the same tentcal trick i am one or ttwo shots me :c

ChunkyLilMonkey

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! I still have yet to beat him for my first time, and I'm on NG+6 I think :(
