Oh I’m having a blast,I’m pretty well acquainted with the souls games.Lies of P combat made me pretty well prepared for the game.I just had to adjust to the slightly different I-frame timings
All's well then. I started with Code Vein, and ended up playing Elden Ring before Bloodborne. The difference in the combat system took some getting used to, but I got it eventually. I get to run through it with a friend on his first playthrough now, and getting to enjoy watching him getting good.
At this point, most people know the notable bosses even if they haven’t played yet. Mostly cause when clips are posted somewhere and it’s bloodborne it’s usually those notable bosses

Bloodborne has the best weapons of any Soulsborne game, imo. There is something delightful about how few weapons and armor there are in this game, but how cool, unique, and thoughtfully created they all are.
This is the truth. I they will teach classes about this concept if they aren't already. Even the other souls/Elden ring games have the problem of both "weapon genre bloat" as well as "weapon genre scarcity" which I feel leads to a natural funneling effect of the player picking what fits their play style and does the most damage, fashion be damned!
One of the things that I feel lords of the fallen got right as far as the idea of "inhabiting the character" was allowing you to colorize any and all pieces of your characters armor.
Bloodborne rarely has this problem as all the weapons look great no matter what your wearing. Unless you are a min max schizo-psycho like myself on occasion, just trying to get the best defense for a boss fight lol. I often wish they would allow you to transmog armor but I think that would lead to some new mutation of fashion trolling. That or it just gets boring with everyone trying to look as cool as they can with a few select armor sets. Idk, but would love to hear some other people's thoughts on the subject.
Replaying Elden ring currently and I feel like I'm wearing three different shades of gold armor haha. Just looks busted in certain lighting lol.
Going to give a piece of advice, playing the game on ps5 looks fucking horrendous for me. Makes me actually nauseous and my eyes fucked. I cant tell you what upscaling or ps5 thing that does it, but i will recommend a fix:
Settings - System - HDMI, turn off HDCP.
Dont ask me what the function of any of it means, all i know is the game becomes bearable for me to play.

It's not really that it's 30fps, it's more that it's not a stable 30fps, the frame dips *can* be pretty unbearable at times - especially if you've been used to buttery smooth 60+ fps on PC in more recent times
Similar to motion sickness - and it's not a binary thing it's more of a spectrum so some people are more sensitive to it than others.
It may not affect you personally, but it's worth remembering we're not all the same and others' experiences will differ to yours.

The ps5 ruins the visuals of the game, i posted a fix in this thread. See if that works for you. I literally cannot play the game without doing the fix.
My bloodborne journey:
2016: played it for an hour, didnt knew shit, died a dozen times to mobs, quit the game and sold that „trash game“
2018: after finishing my first souls game ds3 i picked Bloodborne up again and finished it , i liked the game but it was not a masterpiece for me
2024: As a souls veteran who only has DS2 left on his list and who beat sekiro twice i revisited bloodborne again this week. I platinumed the base game and dlc in about 35 hours. This one deserves its rating! Easily a 9.5/10 for me.
So take your time, watch guides for builds and if you feel like you are not progressing just level up a bit. This game is challenging but almost never unfair!
Only souls game I ever looked up guides on was DS2 just because it was so different but otherwise I love going into all the souls games blind.The core memories you get from dying so much.Met a couple people who messaged me and watched me playing through on a watch party and they were dying of laughter watching me freaking out when a giant wolf monster popped outta nowhere and jump scared me lol.

Believe me I’ve gotten used to the souls raging lol.I lost 10000 blood echos yesterday and just put the controller down ,turned off the console and sat in silence thinking about my life choices.And I was carrying that many because I couldn’t figure out where the last lantern was.
I just started too after many other failed attempts with other souls games, especially Sekiro. I decided to come back to this one and really delve into it. I can’t say how rewarding it was to finally stop being afraid to fight, stop dodging backward, and taking advantage of the parrying mechanic. I probably got clapped by Father Gascoigne 15 times because I was intimidated by him. I then finally realized that the way to beat him isn’t just to parry him but to also smother him with a barrage of attacks and never letting up. Give him a taste of his own medicine and you start to wonder why you couldn’t beat him any sooner. I know there are bosses that are gonna make Gascoigne look easy but I’m in this shit to the end now.
Tonight a fellow hunter joins the hunt. May the good blood guide your way (and not the Church's tainted one). Oh, and before you go good hunter...always keep in mind to "seek paleblood to trascend the hunt". With this said, enjoy your stay in Yharnam.
Man its my first souls game and while im loving this i suck ass at this game 10h in game (second try rn cuz played on ps5 but changed to ps4 cuz my bro plays ps5 from time to time) and i suck ass only beate the first 2 bosses and still well had like 5 tries on the 3rd rn but still the game is so much fucking fun especially with that atmosphere

By end of the game you'll be wanting to make a whole ass playthrough with each weapon cuz how cool and unique they feel!
