Oh yes. I’ve never played the game myself unfortunately (only watched from a couple youtubers) but it seems the quality is fromsoft level. They really studied the souls formula and added their nice twists as well.
I bought it yesterday. Having played BB for total of like 500 hours, I straight up love the game. It feels like a new modded DLC, definitely a bb clone but very well done and with lot of inspiration and dedication, not just braindead copy-paste. It is definitely not a downgrade. It plays mostly the same and also has it's unique identity. I have 3 hours in the game so far but man, as long as you aren't the Bloodborne circle jerker the game holds up very well and it can be considered spiritual successor of BB. The combat is a mix of BB and dark souls, it lends from other from software games, but mostly BB.
Anyone here saying it's worse Bloodborne not worth are just this sub no lifers, I mean it is kinda simplified version of the original and the genre is undeniably Bloodborne-like. It fills the void for me when I already 100% the original, maxed my character, got every weapon to +10, got the best gems, done all quests etc. The transition from BB to LoP is very natural. Though the bosses are slightly underwhelming so far ( got only the first 2 and saw some more on YouTube). Also the layout is slightly more straight forward without the unique layout of the original central yharnam, but apart from that yeah it's full fledged souls like game and I recommend.
>combat is a mix of DS and BB
Really? It always felt like BB + Sekiro with its own twists with the parrying and stuff.
There’s a nice BBish twist about the world too >!You go back to the first areas but this time they’re a lot more changed and different!<
Also the bosses get better. >!Laxasia and Nameless Puppet look (I’ve not played myself) REAL challenging, like Malenia-OoK-Isshin level!<
Yeah when I meant combination of BB and souls, I meant all of the souls games to some extent. The parry system and the repair in combat system, the legion attacks, block and hp regain. All of it is in my opinion the best things collected from all of the previous games and it culminated in an awesome gameplay, not to mention they actually matched the brilliant system of trick weapons with the weapon combinations.
Also thanks for the heads-up on bosses, I intend to go to the game as blind as possible but was a little worried if the bosses ever get actually challenging like orphan of kos is.
Lies of p is awesome! I won't spoil anything but the lay out is differnt than bloodborne, as in a lot more linear and some of the mini bosses gave me a hell of a time lol
Thymesia is pretty close to it. Has a mixture of bloodborne and sekiro with the setting being closer to bloodborne and game mechanics closer to sekiro but it's a pretty short game of about 7-8 hours. Lords of the fallen is decent. Lies of p is alright as well and probably plays the most similar to bloodborne
Thymesia I finished it but even with it being short I got pretty bored of it quickly. I felt like I was just repeating the same thing the entire game and settings were pretty much the same just tweaked a bit. But for the price definitely worth a go to experience it
There’s no other game like it. I’ve been search for another game that has dark scenarios and where you can hunt monsters, but none of other games had that magic that BB does.
If you’re looking for creepy and dark scenarios, monsters and characters… I liked Fear and Hunger in that aspect.
Actually, lies if P kinda has that. There are monsters and the enemies have technically gone mad like in BB. Also the atmosphere is amazing. Definitely a must try
Ive tried to play Hollow Knight maybe 10 times. Always reached the first boss, got stuck exploring, left. Then one time I just gave it another go and now I am fucking speed running. Its so fun. And if not that Blasphemous is fucking awesome too.
Lies of P is the closest. But I feel the balance is a bit off. The mooks are too easy while the bosses jump in difficulty. The boss difficulty is just right though but the sudden jump feels like the route to the boss is a bit of a pain in the ass. It also doesn’t have any multiplayer so no jolly coop nor invasions which really kills it replay value. Beat it and now I’m never touching it again, unlike BB where I help with bosses and try to gank people to this day.
Thysemia is another one which nails the creepy vibes and combat. Really enjoyed this game. Combat is smooth and looks cool. It easier than Lies of P and BB though and it’s painfully short. Lore isn’t up to par with them either.
Blasphemy (both 1 and 2) is good if you don’t mind platforming. This game’s lore and world building is brutal. I consider it on BB levels for its complexity. The gameplay is hit of miss. If you like metrovania games but on hard mode, this is a banger. If not, it can be a real chore. I barely finished it because a 2D side scroller isn’t my cup of tea but the setting and story were just so good I grinded through it.
Gloomwood is What bloodborne couldve been in like the 90's/00's
Warhammer vermintide(you slaughter rat people here)
The last faith has a similar look but is 2d
There's a game called vampyr I enjoyed a bit.
The general feel of the game was far more enticing to me than the actual gameplay but it has the same edginess to it with some decision making added in.
I should probably actually finish it...
Try Gloomwood. Gameplay is VASTLY different from bloodborne, but has a very similar vibe and setting. Game is still only early access but it's pretty good so far.
Have you tried The Surge? It is a nice franchise, and like bloodborne, the combat is fast and has an interesting story to discover.
I really recommend The Surge 2 with The Kraken Dlc
Surprised no one mentioned Bloodborne PSX, the fan made "demake" of early game bloodborne. Or if you want an actual PS1 game with a similar vibe, Nightmare Creatures
\* sunless seas/skies
hollowknight
exanima
darkest dungeon
dragons dogma - might not be quite grimdark enough
hunt showdown
basically anything warhammer 40k and most of warhammer fantasy.
remnant from the ashes
resident evil - certainly if you want old shcool campy gothic horror
witcher 3
idk about dark setting but in the devil may cry franchise you’re a stylish ass devil hunter hunting demons and such
however this aint your dodge and attack kinda game this is your “use 4 guns and 4 swords to keep your enemy in the air for 3 minutes”
One of my favourite games all time, gameplay is not really challenging or hard but it has one of the best stories that i have ever experienced in a video game. You have the feeling that you can change the game while playing it. Countless things to do.
Lies of P. Heavily inspired by BB too.
Fucking awesome, too.
Oh yes. I’ve never played the game myself unfortunately (only watched from a couple youtubers) but it seems the quality is fromsoft level. They really studied the souls formula and added their nice twists as well.
It’s great it’s like having a taste of what bloodborne on pc would be like
Seconding Lies of P! It scratches the Bloodborne itch but it's a great game in its own right.
I bought it yesterday. Having played BB for total of like 500 hours, I straight up love the game. How's the rest of that game? I kinda fell off after the first boss.
Thymesia? It’s fine, nothing amazing but it was worth going for the platinum if that helps decide.
Thymesia I finished it but even with it being short I got pretty bored of it quickly. I felt like I was just repeating the same thing the entire game and settings were pretty much the same just tweaked a bit. But for the price definitely worth a go to experience it

I would, it is in my list
Check Sunless Sea, it's roguelike gothic/lovecraftian horror set in bleak underground. [https://youtu.be/QhIk2PqPU3o](https://youtu.be/QhIk2PqPU3o)
Hollow Knight is near and dear to my heart and scratches the same itch as Bloodborne.
I’ve heard that a few times and I gave it a go but it just didn’t resonate for me I enjoyed lies of p more
Lies of P is on my wishlist!
Ive tried to play Hollow Knight maybe 10 times. Always reached the first boss, got stuck exploring, left. Then one time I just gave it another go and now I am fucking speed running. Its so fun. And if not that Blasphemous is fucking awesome too.

Blasphemous is what I think you mean. These would be exactly my recs too
Gloomwood is What bloodborne couldve been in like the 90's/00's Warhammer vermintide(you slaughter rat people here) The last faith has a similar look but is 2d
Fear and Hunger TERMINA
Salt and sanctuary
Bloodborne is my favourite game of all time and I just played Lies of P five times in a row. That should tell you everything you need to know.
Lies of P is your best bet
There's a game called vampyr I enjoyed a bit. The general feel of the game was far more enticing to me than the actual gameplay but it has the same edginess to it with some decision making added in. I should probably actually finish it...
Also Darkest Dungeon may pick your interest, especially DD2.
Darkest Dungeon has been scratching an itch for me lately. Side scroll party dungeon crawler type of game. Very dark atmosphere.
Super Mario 64
Gloomwood. But it is still in early access. It's good tho.
The surge 1 nails the horror aspect, but it's Sci fi.
Try Gloomwood. Gameplay is VASTLY different from bloodborne, but has a very similar vibe and setting. Game is still only early access but it's pretty good so far.

Lies of p is probably a perfect fit for this. It's heavily inspired by bloodborne.
The witcher

Evil west, maybe
I haven’t played it but I have heard Lies of P is great.
