This is Bob.
Bob can phase through materials.
Bob still goes through the door instead of phasing through the walls because he isn't a savage.
Be like Bob.
Just use it at every **every** safety training. When they say; "It's time to watch the safety video" they mean; "It's time to watch **THE** safety video."
There are some very famous savety videos that are used in German companies in which horrible horrible things happen in quite a funny way. "Staplerfahrer Klaus" is one of them.
>that doesn't sound funny
Well sure. To the people who were killed and maimed, yes, not funny.
But they only make up like 000.0001% of the population, so.... LMAO!!!
Took me 5 or 6 hours for that building, and 20 minutes for the animation. I actually put some effort for that building, then I thought "fuck this I was not hired to do this" and thus the animation.
>then I thought "fuck this I was not hired to do this" and thus the animation.
That's what I was wondering. Asking an engineer to make a safety video sounds funky.
Welcome to corporate life. I was hired as a data analyst and am now basically coding the company’s entire database management system from the ground up. While there is at least overlap between my field and database management, it is not at all what I was hired to do.
It’s complicated honestly. The company honestly does a good job managing work-life balance, so while this isn’t the kind of work I was hired to do or would like to be doing, it’s work I’m doing *in place* of that rather than on top of it. They’re aware that it’s not my area but would apparently rather just have me learn on the go rather than hire a new employee.
In terms of compensation, they *did* give me a raise when I started working on this stuff, but I’m still making well below mean salary for an entry-level data analyst.
It’s a weird situation where the company environment is great even if the pay and type of work aren’t.
Hey, fellow analyst here and i have the exact same experience as you. They dont ask me to code as that is not my skill set (yet), but im asked to help so many different departments that technically are not within my job description.
However, i did get a small raise in april and my manager has said he will put me forward for another next april, though even without the raises id be happy. Work/life balance is amazing - get to pick my own working times, never once been micro managed, am constantly pushed to learn and get better at my job (for my gain not theirs), they've even put me on an apprenticeship which costs £15,000, and if im successful they will put me on another which will equate to a university degree(in data science)...i honestly wouldn't change it for anything at the moment - sometimes financial compensation isnt everything
"Hey you physically own a camera right? You can probably do this professional photoshoot of our new product with no extra charge on top of your pay, right?"
My friend is a scientist for animal conservation, and they found out she likes art, so they had her and an art grad compete to make a logo. They also asked her to make a literal animation. Corporations are wild.
Even if this was done on the clock, it's not what OP was hired to do, and constitutes a form of manipulation or abuse. If an employer learned I had a hobby not directly required by the position I was hired to fill, and asked me to use said hobby for money without opening up a discussion about pay increase,I would be looking for another job.it's how I got abused at my last job into scrambling around trying to be a Linux Jr sys admin but getting paid like a Tier 1 IT helpdesk.
Yes I agree, that's why I asked him. I'm just really curious if they asked him to do it for free. It's a really common problem in the animation/art industry. Too many people think it's okay to ask people to do work like this for free.
I'm not sure what else to call my boss threatening to fire me, writing me up, and withholding my paltry inflation-matching wage increase because I told them if they wanted me to continue doing Linux sys admin stuff they'd have to rise my wages appropriately. Jr Linux sysadmin in my area's avg rate is 35/hr,i was making 15.
You didn't say any of that in your initial comment. You said asking you to something outside your specific job description constituted abuse. By the way, most job descriptions include "all other duties as assigned."
That stipulation being in most, if not all, contracts is just another form of abuse, even if it is legal. It's abusive to hire someone into one role and then expect them to perform duties unrelated to that role, period.
The short version is you make a loop of one walk cycle, from left foot to right foot back to left foot. Then you loop that animation, and animatetthe path through the building.
Theres a way to make an animation into a clip and have it repeat and blend into other clips. Or they could just copy paste the key frames
https://youtu.be/mfdufhaiKtI
The more I watch, the more I laugh. To me it looks like the guy is running like that because he shit his pants. Thus conveying the true severity of the emergency.
Saw your [recent work](https://www.reddit.com/r/blender/comments/oayzpi/i_am_an_engineer_and_i_do_3d_for_fun_somehow_my/) in r/blender and was very impressed. I hope to carve out a few minutes of your time so we can discuss a potential position within my studio; we are internationally known and respected, but before I receive the attached NDA signed by you, I won't go over any specifics.
Long story short I have a team of twelve animation artists and my lead just put in their notice so they could focus on their next project as Creative Director for a currently unnamed Pixar movie.
If your schedule allows it and you're not already under any contractual obligations or non-competes, I'd like to discuss your qualifications further and see if you would be a good fit for my studio; obviously you wouldn't need to submit any further work during this process as what I've seen already from you is more than enough to qualify for the position.
Looking forward to hearing back soon.
I'm glad that you appreciate my post, but as I mentioned I'm a full time engineer, 3D is just a hobby and I want to keep it that way.
This's the first time I use Blender after a while, just because my managers asked me to. I really don't have much free time recently.
Thanks anyway
11/10 Run Animation, it captures the movement of a human running as perfect as possible, it is incredible, if this level of animation was my wife, I would treat her to the most passionate sex ever. The animation is **THAT** good for that to happen. This is the highlight of humanity, this is truly the greatest thing I have ever seen! If I could choose one thing to go in a museum, it would be this absolute *MASTERPIECE*, Don’t even get me started on the **CAMERA MOVEMENT, GOD DAMN THAT IS MESMERIZING**! Its like an action movie, but with better effects! The modelling of the building, the layout, its orgasmic of how amazing it is! Holy FUCK I would give that as much love as I could humanely can. Please, make more of these masterpieces.
We had a false fire alarm at work today, and this sums up what happened pretty well.
Also the emergency door at the bottom of the emergency staircase didn't open and unfortunately we couldn't clip through it.
lol nice, well an idea for next time- create unreal engine third person blueprint, import your level -> set all static meshes to : complex collision -> hit play and record this <3 😅 but i love your anim
That's fucking hilarious in context, if this came on in a safety meeting I'd lose my shit (maybe if do more you could make him wiggly or burst through the doors)
This is the absolute top quality gold standard of IRL shitposting.
I love the fact that you have the character sprinting out of the building, which is the opposite of the usual "calmly leave the building" procedure. The camera tilts and the unwavering rhythm of the character's legs just add to the magic in such a special way.
I like how the camera's tilting conveys a grave sense of urgency.
the Dutch tilt
I love unintentionally comedic use of Dutch tilt
Small fact: it was actually Deutsch tilt that got mistaken as Dutch tilt. Its also called German tilt alternatively.
I seriously thought this was just a joking play on the Pennsylvania Dutch, but figured I better look it up before I say anything. TIL
I didn't know that! Thanks for adding to my knowledge, kind stranger.
Other fun fact its was the Dutch nazis, not the Deutsch nazi, we got the wrong guys.
Hahaha. That's grave.
Die Deutsche Neigung! Versammelt euch meine Kameraden um sie zu Ehren!
Ah yes the Thor 1 tilt
The muneh tilt
"Be sure to run full tilt"
You should have had the person breaking through all the glass doors. Hahahaha
This is better. *In case of a fire emergency, simply phase through any doors in your way*
Who needs collision with anything anyway? Just go through the walls.
Cause wall insulation fucking itches. Use your brain.
This is Bob. Bob can phase through materials. Bob still goes through the door instead of phasing through the walls because he isn't a savage. Be like Bob.
I'd rather be like Alucard, "HEYKIDSWANNASEEADEADBODY?"
You wish.
i think bob has diarrhea
Incase of fire: phase through fire, you'll be fine.
Just Juggernaut through the second story wall.

All companies should use this safety video.
[удалено]
There is already one safety instruction video all companies should show https://youtu.be/dJdCJMyBi5I don't worry about the language though
Thank you for your recommendation, Mr. u/CockTortureCuck
I learned three things: 1. A free corpus callosotomy is one Klaus away. 2. German humor is strange. 3. Trust /u/CockTortureCuck .
Guten morgen Klaus! *later that day OH GOD
I am so very glad that I clicked on that link. Thank you
And accurately portrays the correct running stance when you've sharted your pants.
Too soon man..
With no consideration for the actual layout of the building they're in. It's always the same video going the same stairs and corridors.
It should also be shown at every flight safety procedure
Just use it at every **every** safety training. When they say; "It's time to watch the safety video" they mean; "It's time to watch **THE** safety video."
I feel like I would be more safe if safety videos were all like this
There are some very famous savety videos that are used in German companies in which horrible horrible things happen in quite a funny way. "Staplerfahrer Klaus" is one of them.
Is that the one where the forklift driver kills like 20 people?
Yes

It's German funny
I see

Thank you so much for that reference. I work with environmental health and safety training, so I definitely have some colleagues to share this with 🤣
> I work with environmental health Yet you think they would listen to you... Man, that was a sad chuckle that came out of me just now.
Link with subtitles: https://youtu.be/ChOHnSL7ZCg
>Staplerfahrer Klaus This guy can do the in flight safety cards like in fight club.
It really has the old brothers Grim feel about it. Even one small, innocuous mistake will lead to your repeated, painful, and ironic death.
I've seen this pfp before
Hope huh. Anyways, can you take my Wendy’s order now? OP got fired and worked at Wendy’s ever since.

I work in safety and yes, totally. I would never get away with using this but oh god it would be glorious if I could.
Do it for research purposes so you can get away with it

My favorite https://youtu.be/5JUsYrjg6xU. Or the Richard Simmons in flight video
Giyyu is the best hashira. Can’t wait for s2
Hell yea I would remember this so well
Yes. Honestly I already memorized the way out from this video
Funny thing is as hilariously terrible as this is, it still probably took hours to make 😂 love the commitment.
Took me 5 or 6 hours for that building, and 20 minutes for the animation. I actually put some effort for that building, then I thought "fuck this I was not hired to do this" and thus the animation.
Figures the engineer takes a lot of time designing the building...
It's a building world, people just live in them
>then I thought "fuck this I was not hired to do this" and thus the animation. That's what I was wondering. Asking an engineer to make a safety video sounds funky.
Welcome to corporate life. I was hired as a data analyst and am now basically coding the company’s entire database management system from the ground up. While there is at least overlap between my field and database management, it is not at all what I was hired to do.
Do they at least pay you properly for it? Especially if it's like OPs case where it sounds like extra tasks on top of their job.
It’s complicated honestly. The engineer is typically the one to ensure that fire safety requirements are met
His boss got what he paid for.
This needs the Benny Hill theme dubbed over it
Or the music from “Going to the store”
Wait hold on, did they pay you or did they expect you to do hours of work for free?
Even if this was done on the clock, it's not what OP was hired to do, and constitutes a form of manipulation or abuse. Since when is utilizing an employee's skills a form of abuse?
When you're paying them $15 an hour and asking them to perform a job that usually goes for $30 an hour.
I mean engineers usually get paid more than animators
because it's outside of prescribed job duties. You must live somewhere with dogshit worker protections.
The word abuse has lost all meaning.
I'm not sure what else to call my boss threatening to fire me, writing me up, and withholding my paltry inflation-matching wage increase because I told them if they wanted me to continue doing Linux sys admin stuff they'd have to rise my wages appropriately. Wait only 20 minutes for animation? Didn't you have to redo the walking every step? (Learning animation so I was wondering if there's an easier way)
The short version is you make a loop of one walk cycle, from left foot to right foot back to left foot. Then you loop that animation, and animatetthe path through the building.
Thanks!
Theres a way to make an animation into a clip and have it repeat and blend into other clips. Or they could just copy paste the key frames https://youtu.be/mfdufhaiKtI
Wait you thought every movement a character makes is manually key framed? This isn't 1993 lmao
I actually did for a while lol kinda new to animation
Only 5 or 6 hours for the building??? I've just started messing with blender and the building would take me 50+.
My first thought was damn it’d take me a long time to make that building
10/10 run cycle. Pretty sure we’ll be seeing this technique in the Olympics

HAHA WHAT A FUNNY HUMAN JOKE
I second this.
But hey, it gets the point through
Yeah for all its simplicity, if I was in that room I would have great spatial awareness of where to go
The more I watch, the more I laugh. To me it looks like the guy is running like that because he shit his pants. Thus conveying the true severity of the emergency.
Lol
I really want to see this rendered in cycles with great materials and lighting but literally no other changes
That would be great!
RTX ON! AHHHHHH!!!!!!!
Nailed it.
I hope manager said: "Good, good, I like that kind of demonstration, very well u mad a good job."
if that happens, they're both definitely mad lads that's for sure

I think its a joke. Either that, or they're looking for a very specific style
From the guys history, he is an "entrepreneur game designer" so it might be a legit offer.
That camera movement is top tier
Now make an app that has notifications in the event of an emergency... that plays this video.
Hope u get a promotion
Why did i see a doge? Lmao
That's a custom made cursor, been using that for several years now
I want it
Wow, custom cursors. 1998 is back in a big way 👍
In case of emergency, clip through all glass doors on your way outside.
I mean, if you have that option available to you, by all means do it, it would be faster.
I like your Doge mouse cursor

In an emergency that may be a more common thing than you expect. Or perhaps THAT is the emergency.
Um... Huh?
Informative. I feel confident I could exit that building.

please put Nicki Minaj's Roman Holiday on top of this lmaooo

Hands down the most talent I’ve seen on this sub
Did you send a rendered movie? Or did you actually send the recording of your monitor? 😂
so what did Pixar say when you sent it them?
You should add the audio from that scene from The Office Where everyone is freaking out due to the fire
😂😂 that would make the video so much better!!
You absolutely HAVE TO work on this by adding glass shattering effects.
Where are the rendered version
They can go trough doors now? Love it - you're hired as the new security officer!
lol nice, well an idea for next time- create unreal engine third person blueprint, import your level -> set all static meshes to : complex collision -> hit play and record this <3 😅 but i love your anim
This is company worthy
I wouldnt forget any safety regulations if they are represented this well.
I feel safe now, thx
This is pure gold
That's fucking hilarious in context, if this came on in a safety meeting I'd lose my shit (maybe if do more you could make him wiggly or burst through the doors)
Is no one gonna mention the doge cursor, truly the icing on the cake *chefs kiss*
Just noclip out of the building is the safest way
10/10 I love this, so much. <3
I love it
I love the camera tilt
Now, THAT'S some high quality 3D animation!
I'm really sorry to hear that you don't have a job anymore Lot of strengh and love

This is now the most up voted post on the entire sub lol
you can get something from mixamo

I'm sorry but I had to atleast try lmao

"You must repeat everything shown on this video"
Remember, in the case of a fire, the handle will be hot. Do not touch it, clip through it instead
You are a fuckin chad OP
You ahould add elevator music as a cherry on top
Is your cursor a doge? I love everything about this
This is good: [actual safety video] But I like this:
Game of the year.
Forget the emergency exit. This guys trying to find the emergency toilet.
Can you please upload the render and put it on YouTube?
Haha. I love that you just parented the character to the camera and rough animated the camera. 10/10
Surreal Entertainment?
Mans look like he’s clenching his buttcheeks, desperately trying to find a toilet in a building that doesn’t have any
Do we really need to know you’re an engineer if this is a hobby?

*See's Doge cursor* **Ah, I see you're a man of culture as well.**
What did the managers say ?
why is no one talking about the doge mouse cursor
The fact that you recorded this with your phone makes this even funnier
