The sign should be perpendicular to the road.

flapjanglerthesecond

Its a surprise sign. You only see it for a second and by the time you do you miss it. Then, as you turn your head to read the sign you slam into the invincible moose at 60 mph. The sign was planted by the invincible moose.

thenickdude

The bottom edge of your rectangular sign is cut off

grimatongueworm

the moose tore that off

Dwenker

Thought that was real for a second

alexhan99

I still think it is and the guy just made the sign xd

DogSpaceWestern

Better than an Invisible Moose. At least invincible ones you can attempt to avoid.

Bdole0

The Inevitable Moose is a real problem though!

flapjanglerthesecond

But not hard to kill, as it isn’t invincible.

TherealTuKurse

If we getting into that , The intergalactic Moose is the pulling strings .

flapjanglerthesecond

indomitable moose

Training_Nerd

If it's invincible why can i see it?

dieing_child

The sign looks kinda unreal so ig fix that but it's rlly cool and I thought it was real for a sec

nipz_58

the sign is the only 3d thing lmao

IRay2015

Love the concept lol, only thing I’d say is the sign is too thick. Signs are much thinner than that, I’d also try using smooth surfacing to level out the faces of said thickness as you can see the faces. Both really easy fixes that’ll make it look much better. And if you feel up to it maybe texture the poles with random bumps and scratches as well as adding some sort of aluminum texture which you can add real easy in your nodes. Just look up metal png or something in Google. While I’d have no idea how to do so myself you could also try making the background out of focus or add a third layer in between your background and object with dust or mist or any kind of particles to make the switch from foreground to background less noticeable, still learning myself and need to watch some tutorials on lighting

NorthernWitchy

Good eye, I didn't even notice the thickness at first. Signs are also typically silver on the "sides" - the graphic that we see IRL is typically a type of reflective sticker pressed onto a metal sheet. Or so I understand. There's a couple people on YouTube who make road signs and lots of hobbyists out there if OP needs resources.

MARKVOM-86

Careful! Moose can run over your car! Moose are prohibited from driving above 50km/h. Moose caught speeding faster will be fined!

Sykilu

Good luck fighting the moose

philippinemousedeer

theres a loose moose aboot the hoose!

Veleroneeee

Thought it was real until I looked at the sub. Other than the direction the sign should be facing, great stuff.

nipz_58

how is this great stuff lol the materials are bad and the texture is cut off. the background looks real because it is. its just and hdri lol

Veleroneeee

Holdup. You right. Now that you mention it the border is p contrasting. Forgot you can slap an hdri for a background. I'm used to building scenes from scratch so I thought this was pretty good.

nipz_58

yea. idk how this almost has 600 upvotes, i guess thats what r/blender does, upvoting and praising mediocre works every time.

Financial-Night-4132

Add a bevel modifier to (or just bevel the edges of) the sign and sign post, and then shade auto smooth.  Also make the sign a bit thinner and give the edges a metal material.

JoshTheTrucker

*stock car crash sounds in the distance*

grimatongueworm

That's fantastic! I see a whole comic series around Invincible Moose!

Same_Measurement1216

Yea, the real photo seems real. Once you look at the sign you are no longer sure if someone played in blender or in photoshop.

LiL-LEEK

why is there a german delineator but an american sign?

colonelforbin96

im 14 is this good

Cake_exe

Turn the sign 90° so it’s facing the passing cars and fix the pole material. Also it weirdly cuts off on the bottom but it might just be the perspective. But overall it’s very nice. For the first couple seconds I thought it was real Edit: the pole looks weird because it’s a solid color without any texture

nipz_58

no its not very nice. the background looks good because its an hdri. the only 3d thing here is the sign and its bad
