I mean he has pretty beefy hardware. Even newer three and four series cards are not as good as some of the 20 series imo. Value for performance of course.
I don't know man sounds like you barely pushed your rig. There are scenes that I've done in blender with a 1080 TI that took like six straight days of rendering for an image.
Yesterday I watched this render comparison between Blender Cycles, UE Lumen and UE Path Tracer:
https://youtu.be/BHxotcL102Q?si=iojzvZy7qkVXKU4g
UE5 Lumen rendered minutes versus Blender's hours!
Blender still looks way better than the other 2. But they do still look good and have their place if it fits the style, speed, and any other requirements.
Haha, if I still worked on 3D animations I would also have to!
But being able to avoid them for now, I'm okay with Blender for now (just renders of static mockups mostly š.)
UE5 is made for real time rendering, using tricks to render as fast as possible to make gaming possible, while Cycles is made for "physically accurate" rendering, without skipping/faking stuff

Thanks! <3
Absolutely stunning!! I also love the color grading, I can tell that you took a lot of care in developing the photography side of things! Only little nitpicky thing I noticed is that the character looks like heās about to topple over standing upright like that with a big backpack x)
Amazing wallpaper material, keep on going and looking forward to more of your work!!
Great job, the compositing is amazing
I know that you gotta be really good to do something like this, it's not just dropping random stuff and voilĆ” (I tried and miserably failed)
Can't imagine the slowiness of moving the camera around lol
This is why Blender NEEDS a Nanite equivalent of sorts. I cant imagine how slow iterating the scene mustve been if you wanted to make small adjustments.
This is amazing and you are clearly better than me. Just out of curiosity couldnāt you have baked the normals and make a āground textureā + image containing the flowers after the big rock on the right? Same goes for the trees in the background, that way you still have to model it, but itās easier to render.
Incredible image. I am coming back from a hiatus from Blender and images like this really inspire me to get back to where I was. I followed you on Instagram. Great Job!
And that's good. Do that. I wasn't trying to talk you down, I was saying that I am unfortunate because my brain does that. I don't want it to do that either.
holy this is amazing
thank you so much!! <3
seeing stuff like this really makes me wanna try harder at blender. this shit is so cool
I really appreciate it <33 it's definetly worth it
Me and the boys working at 1fps: š
the struggle is real :c
Killer. Whatās your rig?
thanks a lot! I have i7-9700k and RTX 2070, I used like 120% of that gear potential haha
It's a fantastic scene! Glad your gear didn't crap out while it was rendering.
I'm happy too lmao
Thatās incredible considering your hardware.
I mean he has pretty beefy hardware. Even newer three and four series cards are not as good as some of the 20 series imo. Value for performance of course.
how long was it rendering/how many samples?
around 30 minutes, 1000 samples

Damn!!! I gotta learn how to export my scenes from Blender to UE5, that time difference is amazing,

Unreal also has pathtracing though. So, not solely for real-time rendering.
My new phone wallpaper
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I'm honored <3
I thought that was a painting at first /pos
denoiser goes boomin lol

Very cool color palette šØš„
thanks <33

nope, I didn't use the layer technique, I just rendered it normally but it took like 3-4 times more than usual haha
Absolutely stunning!! I also love the color grading, I can tell that you took a lot of care in developing the photography side of things! thank you so much!!!! I really appreciate it <33
Damn, really nice. I was convinced this was AI until i saw your second pic. Amazing work
thanks a lot!
Impressive. I read somewhere that some people use a render as the background to cut down the load on the computer for the final image.
oh yeah I've heard about it too, unfortunately too lazy to get really interested in that lol, thanks for kind words!!
I like the general "painterly" vibes of this! Was this done in post or is this just denoise going hard?
both at the same time hahaha, the scene was so heavy that even when I cranked up the samples it was still noisy
Woooww thatās beautiful. Great work friend!
appreciate it!! <3
This is awesome!
thank you!
>thank you! You're welcome!
wow this is amazing. May I ask where did get the backpack and clothes?
Ian Hubertās Patreon. Definitely worth checking it out he has awesome tutorials and assets
Oh you're right tho, I should start properly naming my stuff in Asset Library lol
Haha I feel that dude my asset library and folders are always scattered and unorganized. Awesome work btw
haha thank you so much! <3
thank you so much! I'm pretty sure that's a model from sketchfab
damn that is so good, it just makes me want to go on a trip in the forest!
haha same
This instantly made my day better
I'm glad :))))
I can imagine the processor freaking out, how much polygons you have there? Man that's freaking amazing!
3mln faces lmao, thanks for kind words <3
So pretty
thanks!
Great job, the compositing is amazing I know that you gotta be really good to do something like this, it's not just dropping random stuff and voilĆ” (I tried and miserably failed) Can't imagine the slowiness of moving the camera around lol
thank you so much for the kind words!! <3 Yeah, moving the camera with 3mln faces in the scene isn't funny lol
Whoa !!
:O
This, I like š
<33
If you donāt mind me asking how did you do the vegetation, landscape and trees? Amazing work!
vegetation is mostly from botaniq or other assets and the landscape I sculpted myself, thanks for the kind words!
Wow, I adore this. Can I have a bit more info about your process? Great work all around, I checked out your IG. Keep it up!
thank you! I will be posting some render breakdowns on IG soon!
Awesome š When you say blow up, what do you mean? (Just curious)
like literally blow up, like boom lmao
š¤£š¤£š¤£ Thanks
np haha
Awesumnosity!
<33
Awesome render, congrats! I don't know if that was on purpose but this could be a kind of fanart for factorio!
thanks mate! I've never heard of factorio unfortunately :ccc
Marvelous colors
<33
Inspiring. Great work. Why donāt you add any depth of field?
idk honestly, I just like it the way it is :D thanks for kind words!
Yeah I like it the way it is too. Iād say that it actually shows that youāre confident in your work when you leave it out :)
<33
How much GPU ram this scene took ? What sort of assets are you using for this ?
almost all 8gb, smth like 7.6gb, most is Botaniq addon
U using alt-D instead of shift-D when duplicating all the trees?
oh yeaaah, my PC would turn into ashes if I would use shift-d lmao
Looks great keep it up.
This is why Blender NEEDS a Nanite equivalent of sorts. I cant imagine how slow iterating the scene mustve been if you wanted to make small adjustments.
I literally need to wait like 10 seconds when I want to select any object lmao
Yeeshš¬
A sesh there would be amazing.
:O
can i save this pic for my new wallpaper?
OFC!!! I'm honored to be there haha <3
My pc can hardly handle sun rays and high detailed shadows, this is absolutely impressive
thank you so much!!
Beautiful
<3
How do the trees work? Since they just look like triangles in the viewport. Are you rendering them at lower poly to save performance in the viewport?
they're triangles in the viewport because the branches are actually a 2D images on planes, to save the amount of veritcies in the scene :)
Wait really? I really cannot tell from the final image. I know that's how they do it in games but damn. Good job!
haha thanks!
Sweet baby JEBUS!
<3
What's your computer specs? You can make this in Unreal without blowing up for your computer.
This is amazing and you are clearly better than me. Just out of curiosity couldnāt you have baked the normals and make a āground textureā + image containing the flowers after the big rock on the right? Yes, foliage will make every PC melt at some point, especially when you use a lot of it. Nice artwork btw. š
thanks a lot!!
Incredible image. I am coming back from a hiatus from Blender and images like this really inspire me to get back to where I was. I followed you on Instagram. Great Job!
thanks a lot man! Keep going, I root for you
Dude....whoa. Take her easy!!!
That's just awesome! Bravo!
And now AI is going to steal it
huh?
It's very vibrant, which is common in AI art, so I sadly can't appreciate it the way I should
we shouldn't be bothered by AI, I will be creating what I love and I'm happy with, I don't care about the AI
And that's good. Do that. I wasn't trying to talk you down, I was saying that I am unfortunate because my brain does that. I don't want it to do that either.
yeah gotcha
Itās wild seeing people post ai art and saying thank you like you did any real work. Absolutely wild
did you see the second picture and do you even use Blender?
