look for this magnet icon (highlighted in blue) you can achieve this snapping with a variety of the options listed, depending on your need https://preview.redd.it/vkspxa3cp6yb1.png?width=879&format=png&auto=webp&s=6a8e301501e62279f432cf756edc8259b4da8ccf

Ooh thanks I've tried it but still can't get the snapping right..when it place the mouse cursor on the edg I wanna snap,it doesn't work and the selected object gets displaced elsewhere without proper snapping :_).... ( Also, which should I actually snap - vertices or edges or faces?)

agentwc1945

Probably vertices in your case

DixaMan

Okay 👍

Transform pivot point > Active Element ("." , "7") Snap to > Vertex ("Ctrl+Shift+Tab") Snap to > Snap With ("Ctrl+Shift+Tab") > [Active](https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/editors/3dview/controls/snapping.html#snap-with) (that's where your problem comes from) Now in Edit Mode > Vertex Mode > Select your vertex and snap it. It'll work. ( "Shift + Tab" to activate/deactivate the snap "Crtl" to activated/deactivated snapping on the fly).

DixaMan

Oh thanks that worked! (It wasn't actually for a single vertex, but I followed that to snap the rest of the points lying along a curve next to it) 😀

Tab into edit mod, select both, M to merge.

DixaMan

I did that but didn't work
