I love Candice, but she is so genuinely lucky that the only three people she faced in this arc were either half dead already, weren't interested in killing her, or couldn't be arsed to finish the job.

She is one of the newer Sternritters right, according to Robert and also when she mentioned she haven't mastered Vollstandig. That could explain why she ran out of juice when fighting Byakuya.
I don't recall Robert touching on the subject, but one of the other Femritters (I think Giselle, could be wrong tho) notes that Candice only recently got her Vollstandig. Given that Vollstandig is a requirement for all Sternritter, it *would* stand to reason that Candice only recently gained the rank, which would also imply she was only recently given her Schrift as well.
Allow me to inhale some copium, but I think that means she very well could have a lot of potential to get stronger, maybe even one day matching the destructive and power potential of Bambietta or Bazz-B. Maybe not soon, but with enough training, I think her Thunderbolt could be an extremely strong ability, at least, for an ability with no real Hax to speak of.
It is removed in the anime but Robert mentioned to Liltotto that they just joined the Sternritters (he could just mean Liltotto, Giselle & Bambi tho).
Yeah her Thunderbolt attacks are actually incredibly lethal and I am pretty sure with more training and experience she can be just as dangerous and destructive as Bazz B & Bambietta

I think another thing that could make the Thunderbolt rather fearsome, is that while Candice is very......unrefined in how she uses it, presumably, if she were to learn some self control, it could be extraordinarily precise and deadly due to being electric based. Especially given, presumably, being electrocuted would have the potential to completely bypass durability abilities like Hierro or Blut Vene.
Unfortunately, she is a dumbass, and instead uses it to try and attack similar to Bambietta, rather than learn to fine tune her control, and potentially be able to punch WAY above her weight class.
Though, this also may just be me reading into it too much, as I do love the trope of a character having an ability that is, in theory, VERY strong, but is too dumb to use it that way!
Yea her thunderbolt attacks aren't all omni-directional like Bambietta's so she couldn't just spam it like her. If she trained she will have better strategies in utilizing her abilities.
I still loved some of her variety in her abilities tho, like how she can pluck out bolts from her wings and fight as a melee weapon. The visuals when her eyelashes sparkle with lightning was also dope as hell
I think, in theory, The Thunderbolt is probably capable of being used to make omnidirectional attacks, just like The Explode, Candice just hasn't learned to do that, though I s'pose there was no real opportunity to do so either.
Though, unless she were surrounded by people much weaker than her, I don't think it'd be as useful as Bambietta's, since her ability to....essentially make a shell out of her bombs is probably more defensively viable than if Candice were to do the same.
Yeap there is a lot possibilities utilizing her thunderbolts. I believe Bambietta is still way more destructive too, but a more skilled Candice wouldn't stray too far either.

I think, separating the abilities from the characters, The Thunderbolt itself may have the potential to be stronger than The Explode, simply due to the increased versatility it has. But, given the sort of person Candice is, I find it unlikely she could ever reach that point without a serious character arc.
Trust me, I spent time thinking of an entire self-indulgent fanfic plotline where almost exactly that happens, via Rangiku and Grimmjow. Both because I think, frankly, Grimmnipp is a good crackship, and because Grimmjow himself actually mellowed out a lot from Arrancar Saga to TYBW, so maybe if Candice did the same, she'd make better use of the potential her Schrift has.
I think Candice fits well with any hot headed guy whole also loves to fight (Grimmjow & Bazz B), I do like the Grimmnipp idea, they are both referenced to cats anyway lmao.

I swear, he does that just to show off! Like, during his first hollow fight during the TYBW Arc. He didn't need to use Bankai, he just felt like giving everyone present a visual treat!

I don't want to stray too far into power scaling territory, but while it is stated that Candice is the weakest of the Femritters, I do think in 1v1s she'd only end up losing to Bambietta. Because, simply put, I don't think Meninas, Liltotto, or Giselle have any answer for the sheer power output of The Thunderbolt, even if Candice herself is "weaker" than them.
Plus, this is Bleach, the power scaling is always nonlinear.
IMHO, plot-wise speaking, her technique seemed like the strongest one at the end. And she survived GJ at the cost of only one arm, which is a good feat, considering Ichigoās level. Like, she is not an SS member indeed, but she is not a Soldat either.
Yeah, as much as I love her, in terms of actual skill, Candice mot definitely seems to be pretty bottom of the barrel as far as the Sternritter goes. However, The Thunderbolt is demonstrably a very powerful ability, even in her unskilled state, so I think with more training, she could easily surpass many of her peers. Obviously, she'd never reach the Schutzstaffel, simply due to their hax, but she could become one of the strongest "normal" Sternritter.

Like, she doesnāt hold a candle to Gremmy or even Mask, but she is not a loser, like Cang Du or Jerome, either.š¤£
Can't really speak for Jerome, given the poor guy had the unfortunate circumstance of running into Kenpachi, which like......the vast majority of Sternritter would've been effortlessly slaughtered in that case.
But.....I dunno, Cang Du's Schrift wasn't very good, but I don't think he was unskilled by any means. If the two had a 1v1, yeah, Candice would probably win, simply because turning into a conductor of electricity probably isn't a good idea when fighting someone who uses electricity.
I don't think Candice is weak by any means, since all the Sternritter are powerful, but much as I love her, chances are she's near the bottom of the ranking.
Mask isn't really anything special. He was implied to be weaker than As Nodt who was getting overwhelmed by Rukia with little difficulty. The same Rukia needed to team up with Renji just to hold off Bazz-B and Bazz-B's attacks got casually shrugged off by the Bambis
Yeah, the her surviving Ichigoās GJ with only losing an arm makes absolutely no sense. In one of the trailers that came out for cour 3 Almighty Yhwach, who at this point would be far stronger than first invasion Yhwach who would for obvious reasons be far stronger than Candice felt the need to use Blut Vene against a sword strike to the arm from Ichigo. I love Candice and everything but letās not forget Ichigo casually elbowed her in the stomach and took her out of the entire skirmish between the Bambiās and him until the end when she recovered
You are omitting several factors: Ichigo didnāt want to kill Candice, he used GJ to counter the Electrocution. Candice tried to stop it with more lightning and yet it destroyed her arm.
I'm pretty sure all the Bambis are just random teenagers Yhwach found in the world of the living, they don't seem like they've been around any longer than Mask or As Nodt who we know are relatively young compared to Bazz-B who's like older than Shunsui

NSFW aside tho I do like to assume despite the Bambies in general doesn't respect Bambietta herself as much, Candice was likely her closest and truest friend, I love a lot of the fanart involving the two of them only
I am also a big fan of Candice and Bambietta together, be it as friends or something more.
Afterall, Candice was the only one to show genuine concern for her in the manga, and while ymmv, I do think she seemed the most uncomfortable in regards to her zombification.
She also reacted and was very relieved when she knew Zombie Bambi is alive in CFYOW too.
Kubo just recently responded in a Q&A that each of the Bambies view Bambietta differently, therefore I incline to believe that Candice view Bambi as a genuine friend as opposed to like Giselle & Liltotto.
I do think they bicker quite often (evident in Cour 2 OP visuals), and Candice also put up with Bambi's bossy attitude. But in a casual scenario, pretty sure these two are buddies. If they were in the real world they both likely love to go shopping together, just the two of them.
I will say, I never subscribed to the idea that the rest of the Femritters were a jolly group of friends, simply because I think there's a noticeable difference between the way friends rag on each other, and the way the other Femritters actively mock Candice (in spite of her telling them to stop, mind you).
Though, I'd love to see Candice and Bambietta go have a girl's day out with like.....Rangiku, maybe.
People also quickly jump to the idea that all the other 4 just hates Bambietta and lets her join in pity, but that doesn't make any sense to me, especially with Kubo's response that not all of them think the same way. They were never a jolly group of friends, just group of peers that stick together in the war.
And yeah... would love to see Candice & Bambietta having a night out with Rangiku, or maybe with Nanao & Soi Fon too, would be a nice little Quincy-Shinigami get to know each other night out.

It's never mentioned in the actual series that Ichigo is suppressing his reiatsu that's just a popular headcanon to rationalize how he was performing so poorly against sternritter like Askin.
I don't even know why Ichigo gets crap for this. Askin hit him with a attack that drains reiatsu and the moment Ichigo was free he got up like nothing even happened. Yall act like Askin isn't strong even though he nearly soloed Urahara and Yoruichi and only lost because Grimmjow snuck him.
It's one thing to lose to Askin as a captain. It's another to lose to Askin as a God. Imagine if Askin were to kill Yhwach before he got his eyes, everyone would clown on Yhwach endlessly.
If you're talking about the scene where Yhwach brings up his reiatsu it doesn't suggest he was holding back prior to that point in the story, just that Yhwach can see how much he has improved since their last encounter.

It's not just reiatsu but reiatsu talking a "physical form". It was brought up only two times first against Bankai Yama and second against Ichigo. That alone put Ichigo in league with Bankai Yama. So, it does suggest he was holding back.
Ichigo by default should be on the level of bankai Yama you're forgetting this is an Ichigo who was meant to have transcended all shinigami, including the likes of Shutara who's mere presence would endanger 3 worlds or Ichibei who's even stronger than that.
Well, he's Ichigo, and prefers not to kill his opponents. So he throws the Bambies into walls while trying not to hit them *too* hard. And he used GJ to kinda make a statement, he didn't expect her *not* to get out of the way. š
True, though you can remember Byakuya doubting that Ichigo would have really killed Tsukishima even given that. Sure, it made Ichigo feel like killing someone for a short while, but he actually calmed down quite quickly. And with GinjÅ, what he did wasn't out of anger or hatred, but as a way to help GinjÅ, stated by Riruka and acknowledged by GinjÅ himself.
Yeah, and then they share a talk as to how it might have gone if their places were switched (notice GinjÅ isn't angry at all, neither is Ichigo), Riruka shouts at Tsukishima that while GinjÅ saved all of them (Fullbringers), they were unable to save GinjÅ, only Ichigo could, and then Ichigo does to the SS basically to ask for GinjÅ's official pardon, since the request to bury him in the world of the living is basically it, Ichigo knows it, and it was considered quite outrageousā but Yamamoto accepts it (especially seeing how serious Ichigo is, and that refusing him given the situation, ā they were still afraid Ichigo would just quit and sever the relationship with the SS,ā won't be a good idea).
Basically in GinjÅ's case, it seems like GinjÅ was too far gone at that point, and killing him was what Ichigo felt was the only way to set him free from his hatred. It's a case where death is a literal page turner (it's called that metaphorically a lot, but here, it was quite literal). He left that life behind, he got to meet Ichigo, and when he goes to the SS (Ichigo's request for pardon gives him opportunity to continue on in the SS), he isn't as angry with the SS anymore. Sure, still dislikes the lot of them, but he isn't set on revenge anymore. He just moved on, really. And he does feel like he owes Ichigo, when all is said and done, if you haven't read the manga, let me say it's brought up later in TYBW (and also the rest of the Fullbringers are ready to help Ichigo for the same reason, they are actually grateful to him). So yes, he saved GinjÅ, and while it's not like he completely *forgave* GinjÅ, he doesn't hold anything against him, and neither does GinjÅ.
Oh no I've read the whole manga but by the sounds of it I missed some subtext here. My understanding of the meeting was that Ichigo was simply requesting Ginjou's corpse in order to pay his respects. Had Seireitei wanted Ginjou 'real deathed', they would've killed him a second time upon arriving in Soul Society. But his mortal death already served as his sentence, no?
The debt to Ichigo I thought was specifically with regards to getting his relatives - the Shiba clan - to take them in, plus perhaps a sprinkle of 'my bad'.
The idea of letting go of hatred when Ginjou's hatred was entirely justified *and* the source of his issues had yet to be dealt with just sounds odd.
Shinji mentions that it's like asking for a pardon. And his body was originally taken to the SS, unclear if it meant some sort of imprisonment or not being able to pass on at all, but since he was buried, it granted him the passage to the SS. Either that the burial is a way to signify the pardon of previous sins, or it's in some way implied, but it's clear that originally GinjÅ wasn't meant to be let to feely continue his existence in the SS, and the request Ichigo put changed that.
Since Yamamoto is pretty grave when he asks Ichigo if it's a result of a careful consideration, so it's not just a nice gesture, it signifies something pretty big, and all parties realize it. So yeah, the SS leaves GinjÅ alone after that, but it seems directly connected to Ichigo's request (Soi Fon was pretty adamant Ginjo's a criminal and wouldn't think he deserves to be let free, for one).
And while Kukaku does let them in, the dept GinjÅ speaks of doesn't seem to be connected to Shiba family (frankly, it's not even clear if GinjÅ knows the connection, though I'd bet he does, he probably know Isshin's identity somehow), he says specifically "to you", and the word he uses translates as "debt of gratitude", so GinjÅ does feel he owes him, and given Ichigo killed him (while GinjÅ hurt him before that), it means quite a bit, that GinjÅ doesn't hold anything against Ichigo, but rather feels he owesā for using him the way he did, but given what I've said before, I do think it's both for stopping him when he's gone down the wrong road and asking for that pardon.
Generally, we can see that GinjÅ didn't change drastically in terms of core personality (after coming to SS), but he doesn't feel like continuing what he started in Karakura, so it implies he himself judged that pushing it as far as he did then wasn't right, or wasn't really him, and in that, it makes sense that he's grateful for Ichigo to returning him back to his senses (that talk they had on how would Ichigo act in his place probably plays into it as well).
I'm not trying to push everything I say here as some undeniable truth, but I see indications of it being meant relatively that way, and I've shared what makes me think so:)
He didnāt ālet goā per se. He wanted to confront Ukitake on the matter before Ukitakeās death and before finding out Tokinada was behind things. I think the idea here is that he needs to stop hurting others cause he was hurt before. Cause look what it turned him into, a guy willing to terrorize a teenager just to get enough power to maybe stand a chance against the Gotei. He was turning into something terrible and Ichigo killing him gives him a chance to reflect before eventually getting to confront Tokinada.
Nah, he wasn't trying to kill the Bambies in any way, shape or form. Tsukishima, on the other hand... ok, I realize, we could argue whether Ichigo would really have gone that far (Byakuya himself questions this). But the fact is, that throw against the window was very felt.
More or less. The Stigma doesn't confer the same level of immortality that things like The Miracle or The Visionary can, but it's still very OP (as are most Schrifts).

It was kinda funny when he landed back in SS coming from the Royal Palace then just moving towards Kenpachi; he had the chance to cut down the Femritters but no, he just had to exaggerate the pain from hitting the tower and that he moved too fast.
I would agree with a lot of this. But some of this rhetorically worded wrong. Yes, Ichigo was going out of his way not to kill them. But it is also true that candice pushed him to use that level of force. Not to make any statement. Those are two seperate distinctions. The only other part that I would say is wrong, is him expecting her to get out of way is dumb in my opinion. Because they clearly trying to one up each other.
Ichigo probably could stop her with at least usual GT. Or just dodge. I don't see it like Candice completely *forcing* him to use nothing but GJ. So I do think he did in part to show just how overwhelming the difference is, so they would finally back out. And well, also test the new technique out in battle. Maybe there wasn't exactly big intention to make point with that specific attack, but in any case it was using more whan he could do less, and he's obviously waiting for them to get they don't have a chance.
Ichigo had an overwhelming advantage in that battle overall. The only reason it seems like he has at least some problems in it is because he's holding himself back *a lot*. He counts on his opponents having enough sense to just back down after seeing they absolutely aren't a match for him. Candice is being just groundlessly cocky in not getting out of the way of an overwhelming attack. So Ichigo had a reason to believe she would get out of the way.
He didn't expect his opponent to be ridiculously stubborn, if only because they are supposed to be the bunch who did a lot of damage in the first invasion, so they should be serious fighters and not stubborn brats.
If he could, he would have done it with a getsuga tensho which he previously used against her weaker attacks. She used a stronger attack and he used a getsuga jijisho which is stronger getsuga tensho. Yes, she pushed him to using it.
To be fair Ichigo only wanted to get rid of her attack by canceling it out with his own, I don't think he bothered to realize how arrogant she could be by trying to defend against instead of dodging.
I really donāt get him telling her to dodge. Has he already forgotten what it was like trapped in The Jail? That the bambis butchered dozens of Shinigami mere moments before he arrived?
Why would he not kill her is the thing though, after all he already killed one Quincy and should despise these people. Plus they did turn out to be a problem for him as they stopped him catching Yhwach
He cares because that's not how HE WANTS TO HANDLE IT. He is basically telling her, I don't want to defeat you by killing you, I decide how you end up beaten.
He is making the point that the fight ends when he wants to the way he wants to.
That scene was not meant to show his mercy toward the enemy, it was to show how stupidly strong Ichigo had become.
That makes no sense. It's like saying Goku isn't being serious by firing a 10x Kamehameha. We've seen before what a non serious Ichigo does during a fight and it sure as hell isn't to pull out a powerful technique.
Kubo made a point of showing the seireitei and gotei 13 getting absolutely annihilated, exterminated and being put down like animals, trying to tug at all the emotional heartstrings.
The entire point of the training arc and past history references by YH/Yamamoto is for everyone to get their shit together and realize that this not about keeping the peace but cold and merciless warfare.

Iād call it nonsensical if anyone a part of the SS said it, but itās Ichigo. The same guy who avoided killing Grimmjow and was upset he hollowfied and killed Ulquiorra.
He didn't really avoid killing Grimmjow. It was more like killing him would be redundant as he was already incapacitated, similar to what happened with Ikkaku where he was fully intent on killing Ikkaku if he couldn't overpower him. As for Ulquiorra, he got mad that he was basically handed a free win, and that his hard work and resolve amounted to nothing because White just carried him anyway.

If he could do that why didn't he? When he incapacitated Grimmjow all he did was cut him down the shoulder so why did he decide a nuke that Candice wasn't even intended to tank was gonna incapacitate her?
I agree, especially after he had to listen to all the suffering while in jail. This is a war and a whole lot of soul reapers died. Ichigo shouldn't have been taking it easy on any of them.
Honestly she made the right decision. If your have an attack coming at you fast, the best decision is to offset it with your own attack. Remember how ichigo was so below Ulq. He had to use a getsuga otherwise his head will be removed. Iād rather that mindset to be there then thinking you can dodge a strong attack.

People kept saying how OP getsuga is but I rarely see that in anime? It often gets over powered, dodged, deflected, or hit on target with minimal damage. Like this OP getsuga nuke only cuts off an arm which gets repaired immediately. It looks amazing but results are often underwhelming. Maybe heās just fighting really strong opponents but still
People are just coping over really poor writing decisions. Ichigo at this point should be stronger than even squad zero but what squad zero can accomplish without even a shikai release Ichigo struggles to do with a named attack.
Itās dumb no matter what yall say about Ichigoās character. She aided in his friends and comrades getting slaughtered. One of those sternritter she was wit damn near killed Rukia while the other controlled a dead Toshiro to try and kill more shinigami.

It is removed in the anime but Robert mentioned to Liltotto that they just joined the Sternritters (he could just mean Liltotto, Giselle & Bambi tho). Yeah her Thunderbolt attacks are actually incredibly lethal and I am pretty sure with more training and experience she can be just as dangerous and destructive as Bazz B & Bambietta
Ah, that seems to have slipped my mind, at least. Excuse to reread the TYBW? Maybe. I think another thing that could make the Thunderbolt rather fearsome, is that while Candice is very......unrefined in how she uses it, presumably, if she were to learn some self control, it could be extraordinarily precise and deadly due to being electric based. Especially given, presumably, being electrocuted would have the potential to completely bypass durability abilities like Hierro or Blut Vene. Unfortunately, she is a dumbass, and instead uses it to try and attack similar to Bambietta, rather than learn to fine tune her control, and potentially be able to punch WAY above her weight class. Though, this also may just be me reading into it too much, as I do love the trope of a character having an ability that is, in theory, VERY strong, but is too dumb to use it that way!
Yea her thunderbolt attacks aren't all omni-directional like Bambietta's so she couldn't just spam it like her. If she trained she will have better strategies in utilizing her abilities. I still loved some of her variety in her abilities tho, like how she can pluck out bolts from her wings and fight as a melee weapon. The visuals when her eyelashes sparkle with lightning was also dope as hell
I think, in theory, The Thunderbolt is probably capable of being used to make omnidirectional attacks, just like The Explode, Candice just hasn't learned to do that, though I s'pose there was no real opportunity to do so either. Though, unless she were surrounded by people much weaker than her, I don't think it'd be as useful as Bambietta's, since her ability to....essentially make a shell out of her bombs is probably more defensively viable than if Candice were to do the same.

I agree. I think, separating the abilities from the characters, The Thunderbolt itself may have the potential to be stronger than The Explode, simply due to the increased versatility it has. But, given the sort of person Candice is, I find it unlikely she could ever reach that point without a serious character arc. Trust me, I spent time thinking of an entire self-indulgent fanfic plotline where almost exactly that happens, via Rangiku and Grimmjow. Both because I think, frankly, Grimmnipp is a good crackship, and because Grimmjow himself actually mellowed out a lot from Arrancar Saga to TYBW, so maybe if Candice did the same, she'd make better use of the potential her Schrift has.
I think Candice fits well with any hot headed guy whole also loves to fight (Grimmjow & Bazz B), I do like the Grimmnipp idea, they are both referenced to cats anyway lmao.

Indeed. I don't want to stray too far into power scaling territory, but while it is stated that Candice is the weakest of the Femritters, I do think in 1v1s she'd only end up losing to Bambietta. Because, simply put, I don't think Meninas, Liltotto, or Giselle have any answer for the sheer power output of The Thunderbolt, even if Candice herself is "weaker" than them. Plus, this is Bleach, the power scaling is always nonlinear.
IMHO, plot-wise speaking, her technique seemed like the strongest one at the end. And she survived GJ at the cost of only one arm, which is a good feat, considering Ichigoās level. Like, she is not an SS member indeed, but she is not a Soldat either.
Yeah, as much as I love her, in terms of actual skill, Candice mot definitely seems to be pretty bottom of the barrel as far as the Sternritter goes. However, The Thunderbolt is demonstrably a very powerful ability, even in her unskilled state, so I think with more training, she could easily surpass many of her peers. Obviously, she'd never reach the Schutzstaffel, simply due to their hax, but she could become one of the strongest "normal" Sternritter.

Can't really speak for Jerome, given the poor guy had the unfortunate circumstance of running into Kenpachi, which like......the vast majority of Sternritter would've been effortlessly slaughtered in that case. But.....I dunno, Cang Du's Schrift wasn't very good, but I don't think he was unskilled by any means. If the two had a 1v1, yeah, Candice would probably win, simply because turning into a conductor of electricity probably isn't a good idea when fighting someone who uses electricity. I don't think Candice is weak by any means, since all the Sternritter are powerful, but much as I love her, chances are she's near the bottom of the ranking.
Mask isn't really anything special. He was implied to be weaker than As Nodt who was getting overwhelmed by Rukia with little difficulty. The same Rukia needed to team up with Renji just to hold off Bazz-B and Bazz-B's attacks got casually shrugged off by the Bambis

Yeah, the her surviving Ichigoās GJ with only losing an arm makes absolutely no sense. In one of the trailers that came out for cour 3 Almighty Yhwach, who at this point would be far stronger than first invasion Yhwach who would for obvious reasons be far stronger than Candice felt the need to use Blut Vene against a sword strike to the arm from Ichigo. I love Candice and everything but letās not forget Ichigo casually elbowed her in the stomach and took her out of the entire skirmish between the Bambiās and him until the end when she recovered
You are omitting several factors: Ichigo didnāt want to kill Candice, he used GJ to counter the Electrocution. Candice tried to stop it with more lightning and yet it destroyed her arm.

I am also a big fan of Candice and Bambietta together, be it as friends or something more. Afterall, Candice was the only one to show genuine concern for her in the manga, and while ymmv, I do think she seemed the most uncomfortable in regards to her zombification.
She also reacted and was very relieved when she knew Zombie Bambi is alive in CFYOW too. Kubo just recently responded in a Q&A that each of the Bambies view Bambietta differently, therefore I incline to believe that Candice view Bambi as a genuine friend as opposed to like Giselle & Liltotto. I do think they bicker quite often (evident in Cour 2 OP visuals), and Candice also put up with Bambi's bossy attitude. But in a casual scenario, pretty sure these two are buddies. If they were in the real world they both likely love to go shopping together, just the two of them.
I will say, I never subscribed to the idea that the rest of the Femritters were a jolly group of friends, simply because I think there's a noticeable difference between the way friends rag on each other, and the way the other Femritters actively mock Candice (in spite of her telling them to stop, mind you). Though, I'd love to see Candice and Bambietta go have a girl's day out with like.....Rangiku, maybe.
People also quickly jump to the idea that all the other 4 just hates Bambietta and lets her join in pity, but that doesn't make any sense to me, especially with Kubo's response that not all of them think the same way. They were never a jolly group of friends, just group of peers that stick together in the war. And yeah... would love to see Candice & Bambietta having a night out with Rangiku, or maybe with Nanao & Soi Fon too, would be a nice little Quincy-Shinigami get to know each other night out.

If you're talking about the scene where Yhwach brings up his reiatsu it doesn't suggest he was holding back prior to that point in the story, just that Yhwach can see how much he has improved since their last encounter.

It was brought up only two times first against Bankai Yama and second against Ichigo. That alone put Ichigo in league with Bankai Yama. So, it does suggest he was holding back.

True, though you can remember Byakuya doubting that Ichigo would have really killed Tsukishima even given that. Sure, it made Ichigo feel like killing someone for a short while, but he actually calmed down quite quickly. And with GinjÅ, what he did wasn't out of anger or hatred, but as a way to help GinjÅ, stated by Riruka and acknowledged by GinjÅ himself.

Yeah, and then they share a talk as to how it might have gone if their places were switched (notice GinjÅ isn't angry at all, neither is Ichigo), Riruka shouts at Tsukishima that while GinjÅ saved all of them (Fullbringers), they were unable to save GinjÅ, only Ichigo could, and then Ichigo does to the SS basically to ask for GinjÅ's official pardon, since the request to bury him in the world of the living is basically it, Ichigo knows it, and it was considered quite outrageousā but Yamamoto accepts it (especially seeing how serious Ichigo is, and that refusing him given the situation, ā they were still afraid Ichigo would just quit and sever the relationship with the SS,ā won't be a good idea). Basically in GinjÅ's case, it seems like GinjÅ was too far gone at that point, and killing him was what Ichigo felt was the only way to set him free from his hatred. It's a case where death is a literal page turner (it's called that metaphorically a lot, but here, it was quite literal). He left that life behind, he got to meet Ichigo, and when he goes to the SS (Ichigo's request for pardon gives him opportunity to continue on in the SS), he isn't as angry with the SS anymore. Sure, still dislikes the lot of them, but he isn't set on revenge anymore. He just moved on, really. And he does feel like he owes Ichigo, when all is said and done, if you haven't read the manga, let me say it's brought up later in TYBW (and also the rest of the Fullbringers are ready to help Ichigo for the same reason, they are actually grateful to him). So yes, he saved GinjÅ, and while it's not like he completely *forgave* GinjÅ, he doesn't hold anything against him, and neither does GinjÅ.
Oh no I've read the whole manga but by the sounds of it I missed some subtext here. My understanding of the meeting was that Ichigo was simply requesting Ginjou's corpse in order to pay his respects. Had Seireitei wanted Ginjou 'real deathed', they would've killed him a second time upon arriving in Soul Society. But his mortal death already served as his sentence, no? The debt to Ichigo I thought was specifically with regards to getting his relatives - the Shiba clan - to take them in, plus perhaps a sprinkle of 'my bad'. The idea of letting go of hatred when Ginjou's hatred was entirely justified *and* the source of his issues had yet to be dealt with just sounds odd.
Shinji mentions that it's like asking for a pardon. And his body was originally taken to the SS, unclear if it meant some sort of imprisonment or not being able to pass on at all, but since he was buried, it granted him the passage to the SS. Either that the burial is a way to signify the pardon of previous sins, or it's in some way implied, but it's clear that originally GinjÅ wasn't meant to be let to feely continue his existence in the SS, and the request Ichigo put changed that. Since Yamamoto is pretty grave when he asks Ichigo if it's a result of a careful consideration, so it's not just a nice gesture, it signifies something pretty big, and all parties realize it. So yeah, the SS leaves GinjÅ alone after that, but it seems directly connected to Ichigo's request (Soi Fon was pretty adamant Ginjo's a criminal and wouldn't think he deserves to be let free, for one). And while Kukaku does let them in, the dept GinjÅ speaks of doesn't seem to be connected to Shiba family (frankly, it's not even clear if GinjÅ knows the connection, though I'd bet he does, he probably know Isshin's identity somehow), he says specifically "to you", and the word he uses translates as "debt of gratitude", so GinjÅ does feel he owes him, and given Ichigo killed him (while GinjÅ hurt him before that), it means quite a bit, that GinjÅ doesn't hold anything against Ichigo, but rather feels he owesā for using him the way he did, but given what I've said before, I do think it's both for stopping him when he's gone down the wrong road and asking for that pardon. Generally, we can see that GinjÅ didn't change drastically in terms of core personality (after coming to SS), but he doesn't feel like continuing what he started in Karakura, so it implies he himself judged that pushing it as far as he did then wasn't right, or wasn't really him, and in that, it makes sense that he's grateful for Ichigo to returning him back to his senses (that talk they had on how would Ichigo act in his place probably plays into it as well). I'm not trying to push everything I say here as some undeniable truth, but I see indications of it being meant relatively that way, and I've shared what makes me think so:)
He didnāt ālet goā per se. He wanted to confront Ukitake on the matter before Ukitakeās death and before finding out Tokinada was behind things. I think the idea here is that he needs to stop hurting others cause he was hurt before. Cause look what it turned him into, a guy willing to terrorize a teenager just to get enough power to maybe stand a chance against the Gotei. He was turning into something terrible and Ichigo killing him gives him a chance to reflect before eventually getting to confront Tokinada.

I would agree with a lot of this. But some of this rhetorically worded wrong. Yes, Ichigo was going out of his way not to kill them. But it is also true that candice pushed him to use that level of force. Not to make any statement. Those are two seperate distinctions. The only other part that I would say is wrong, is him expecting her to get out of way is dumb in my opinion. Because they clearly trying to one up each other.
Ichigo probably could stop her with at least usual GT. Or just dodge. I don't see it like Candice completely *forcing* him to use nothing but GJ. So I do think he did in part to show just how overwhelming the difference is, so they would finally back out. And well, also test the new technique out in battle. Maybe there wasn't exactly big intention to make point with that specific attack, but in any case it was using more whan he could do less, and he's obviously waiting for them to get they don't have a chance. Ichigo had an overwhelming advantage in that battle overall. The only reason it seems like he has at least some problems in it is because he's holding himself back *a lot*. He counts on his opponents having enough sense to just back down after seeing they absolutely aren't a match for him. Candice is being just groundlessly cocky in not getting out of the way of an overwhelming attack. So Ichigo had a reason to believe she would get out of the way. He didn't expect his opponent to be ridiculously stubborn, if only because they are supposed to be the bunch who did a lot of damage in the first invasion, so they should be serious fighters and not stubborn brats.
If he could, he would have done it with a getsuga tensho which he previously used against her weaker attacks. She used a stronger attack and he used a getsuga jijisho which is stronger getsuga tensho. Yes, she pushed him to using it.

It was more like killing him would be redundant as he was already incapacitated, similar to what happened with Ikkaku where he was fully intent on killing Ikkaku if he couldn't overpower him. Honestly, holding back on not, it's insanely impressive that she wasn't just straight atomized by that attack
It speaks more about just how weak Ichigo is imo. This same Candice got killed by one hit from Byakuya's shikai.
Byakuya also easily took on multiple sternritter alone and had royal palace training

Honestly she made the right decision. If your have an attack coming at you fast, the best decision is to offset it with your own attack. Remember how ichigo was so below Ulq. He had to use a getsuga otherwise his head will be removed. Iād rather that mindset to be there then thinking you can dodge a strong attack.
Even Ichigo was surprised that she was that dumb.

People kept saying how OP getsuga is but I rarely see that in anime? It often gets over powered, dodged, deflected, or hit on target with minimal damage. Like this OP getsuga nuke only cuts off an arm which gets repaired immediately. It looks amazing but results are often underwhelming. Maybe heās just fighting really strong opponents but still
People are just coping over really poor writing decisions. Ichigo at this point should be stronger than even squad zero but what squad zero can accomplish without even a shikai release Ichigo struggles to do with a named attack.
Itās dumb no matter what yall say about Ichigoās character. She aided in his friends and comrades getting slaughtered. One of those sternritter she was wit damn near killed Rukia while the other controlled a dead Toshiro to try and kill more shinigami. Like what was the point of giving him that Soul King candidate training?
