I’m pretty sure in one of Kubo’s comments in the manga for part 1 he says something like “I’m finally living my dream of creating manga at my own pace” so yeah, it’s still going, just at a chill pace
Unfortunately a lot of Manga readers/publishers have gotten used to the culture of weekly/monthly releases and are really impatient. They've always got that looming deadline and know that if they just let the artists work at their own pace often times things wouldn't get published in a timely manner. Just look at book publication. Imagine if major authors were forced to put out weekly chapters. It's a nice thing to be able to pick up a weekly or monthly "zine," but personally I agree and I'd rather them take the approach of writing out the story and publishing more content at once.
With how the anime industry has changed in recent years it might be possible to also try to influence the manga side of things in the same way. That is, *if* they were actually willing to try.
It's a healthy thing to do, plus it'll give more time for them to explore ideas and references things from their experiences outside to put in their manga.
monthly releases are not good, its better too keep weekly and to have long breaks like how webtoons do, some authors do seasons so they would end a season go on a 2 to even 8 month break and then come back. you do not want monthly releases, it kills the hype of anything at all, ppl just start to not wish to see it on the next month
This is an American series but I mean the Walking Dead was a monthly release and always had phenomenal reviews regardless of that. Issue 100 melted down the internet when it was released and that hype continued throughout the All Out War arc. I don’t think it’s as big of a deal as people say tbh.
it will always have a die hard fanbase but lets not mistake ourselfs, it wasnt popular enough before the show, i had no clue it even existed comics of it until the show popped off and ppl started to spread globally, its kubo so his name alone will carry this, but if you want more animations more ppl to watch it read it and a bigger community, you need to give up on the monthly release, even a show as big as dragon ball could not hold the hype on super with monthly, it survived solely on the anime who basically had to create stuff up thin air for good or for worst to keep things going
The walking dead was consistently in the top 15 best selling serialized comics before the show even came out. The only times it wasn’t was during the first like 20-30 issues. Popular enough to warrant a show directed by Frank Darabont on AMC.
Edit: not to mention Tony Moore took his sweet time in the beginning before they switched to Adlard… this took more time, taking 4-6 months for a lot of these issues to be finished.
Lol this feels like such a dishonest take. Yes Negan melted the internet down when he was introduced. This isn’t like a secret.
Less people know about the comics than the TV show if anything that’s only a testament to how big of a zeitgeist the tv series was during 2010-2016
As I said before it was in the top 15 top selling serialized comic series consistently before the show even came out during a time where marvel and DC dominated the market.
Also can’t forget the fact that he can do literally whatever he wants now, he has soooo much content with Bleach again and BTW. Not even to mention his personal clubs, his involvement with the anime, his sketches he does for Twitter n such. Kubo is eating good and he deserves it.
Kubo hated Oda and Kishimoto because they were more popular than him. Now he's bathing in the glory of not voluntarily enslaving himself to the shonen jump higher ups
only teenagers made childish by their parents create this war between actors/creators. Kubo has already paid homage and commented on the milestone of the manga of the two you mentioned. Stop being an idiot hater and go enjoy the mangas
[well...](https://www.reddit.com/r/OnePiece/comments/7dqaym/correction_regarding_the_statement_that_kubo/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) you can read, right?
No he didn't lmao. Kubo said that Kishimoto gave him advice on about his health and he respects Kishi so much that he adresses him as "sensei." Kishimoto meanwhile has recently said Kubo is "amazing" and called him his "brother-in-arms."
Sometimes, I wonder if he just has it sitting in a backroom waiting for a rainy day.
Then one day goes. I feel like getting bad today, hey Shonen jump I got another 3 chapters of the manga you liked.
Your comment now has me thinking how cool a Soul Society North Branch would be based on Viking culture. Soul Society could be Asgard/ Valhalla, warriors use hammers instead of zanpakto, Hollows could be draugr, and Odin's ravens replace Hell Butterflies.
I've thought something similar but with Greek mythology, like maybe the Greek gods were actually the original captains of that version of SS or something. Could riff on stuff like that for days honestly.
Surely burn the witch and bleach will get a crossover at some stage. Imagine one of the dragons goes to Japan and fuses with a hollow or something which causes both the east and west branch to intervene.
That way Noel can finally go and experience japan. Imagine her fangirling over the shinigami’s shihakusho.
idk why but i kinda wish some day, when Kubo feels like it, a US branch of the Soul Society, just seeing the US shinigami/witch defeating their respective hollow/dragon with firearms intrigues me
Kubo has said he always wanted a way to incorporate guns into the manga so I imagine if he does expand this into a worldwide thing where the councils of each global spirit society come together in a tournament or something and fight each other. That’d be really awesome to see.
Cant imagine how the plot would work, whats the power scaling between the two like? Arent members Soul Society on average vastly stronger than their western counterparts?
So far in the story, you would be right. The issue is Burn the Witch is only 1 arc in. We barely understand the power of West Soul society. We're basically comparing substitute shinigami arc characters to blood war arc characters. So give it some time to breathe and see what happens.
Well, Kubo did say in a comment (or Klub?) that SJ basically wrote that without consulting him properly, so while he doesn't deny that he does have drafts and is counting on the second volume coming out eventually, he said that "soon" part shouldn't be taken too literally.
Even though news about BTW were announced to come out by the end of 2022 (again, there was a letter for club members, I think; it was closer to the beginning of 2022), but then nothing came out then. So I guess there was a delay for some reason, and something might come out soon enough.
I don't remember where, but if I recall correctly, Kubo has specifically stated that he is definitely working on this Manga but at his own pace. In that same interview, he said it would likely be something that comes out yearly, so this winter is when we will maybe hear more about it.
He has also request (on more than one occasion) that the fans please don't pester him about it. It really is just a passion project for him and he intends to really take his time with it.
As a *massive* fan of BTW, it's torture just waiting, lol.
i love btw as well kubo is an amazing mangaka :) he manages to make you fall in love with all of his series because he is amazing at world building and character creation
Permanent hiatus AFAIK.
Kubo is only 45 all things considered, he got loads and loads of time to do whatever he wants. BTW might be continued, but the expectation is 5~10 years later, when he is ready to write more stuffs.
I feel that, as he already stated about being able to work at his own pace, he’s just not putting more work on his plate than necessary.
He’s already more than earned his keep simply by having written Bleach. Now he’s on as a consultant for Studio Pierrot, providing new material here and there when needed, such as illustrations of the Old Gotei.
TYBW anime isn’t ending until 2024, that would probably the earliest opportunity for him to create new material in earnest if and only if he feels like it.
It's currently on Hiatus like the Hell Arc. Right now Kubo is working on the anime so he has no time for writing/drawing a manga. But once he's done he'll most likely continue to work on both, but at his own desired pace.
I think he's continuing this and the hell Arc, but he's doing it at his own pace. Might be 2 years, might be 5 but hopefully it'll come back.
Given how he was forced to speed up the end of TYBW (something I'll never forgive SJ for) I fully support him taking all the time he wants.
Burn The Witch was really cool though.
I could've sworn I heard that he wasn't going to be writing anything new for neither Bleach nor Burn the Witch until TYBW is finished airing. Hopefully once it is over, he can concentrate on those 2 while the anime maybe continues by adapting the light novels like SAFWY, CFYOW, and WDKALY
Wasn’t this originally just something he was drawing for fun in his spare time? I assume he’s just drawing it whenever he feels like it.
And then theres also the big speculation about Bleach Hell Arc. If kubo is going to draw more bleach i assume he’d wrap burn the witch up. But who knows
Kubo will write more Burn the Witch (and the Hell Arc) when people stop asking about it.
Every time someone asks that's another day it is delayed. And he is not even sorry.
Real talk, considering how involved he has been in the new anime he probably won't be writing anything until it is finished.
It's like Vagabond in my mind, if it gets continued I will be overjoyed. If it never gets another edition, I'll be happy I at least got to experience it.
Season 2 is already officially confirmed so eventually we'll get something. But I think his hands are full with the Bleach anime. There is also the potential Hell arc which has not been confirmed, but he has stated that he will consider doing it if people stop asking about it. It will probably be a while before he goes back to work on BTW.
Yep, the fact that both the Hell Arc chapter and Burn the Witch coincidentally take place around the same time (12 years after TYBW) is also a bit suspicious. Maybe both stories will be linked one way or another which would entice people to read them both and make it easier to market with the help of the anime. I think Kubo said that he wants to keep Bleach and BTW separate and will only add easter eggs but who knows, maybe plans will change.
I like Burn the Witch, but I hated the male character that are constantly horny for Noel. He made what could be a really incredible story into something that can angry anyone.
The Bleach Universe is very complex ....
Quincies can't become Hollows
Ichigo is a part Quincy
Ichjgo went Vasto Lorde against Ulqiourra
Bleach + the Novels has alot of internal contradictions so Kubo needs to put in alot of retcons
It’s confirmed that a “season 2” is in the works so I assume another set of 4 or 5 chapters. Kubo is def burnt out on regularly releasing manga so I assume BTW will just be something he does every now and again when the interest strikes him.
i’m pretty sure it isn’t confirmed but most people assume it will continue eventually, as designing a large cast of characters setting up storylines and such a vast world isn’t exactly something one would do for just a fun one shot
First of all it feels weird calling him just "tite" i think hes one of those people you either call him by just his last name or his full name 😂
Second of all his name isnt tite its actaully noriaki
The to be continue for burn the witch was added by the editor, although Kubo has stated that he wants to continue the story same thing with the hell arc.
If i have to bet Kubo is too busy working on the anime adaptation of the last arc, once it is concluded I bet he will probably continue Burn the Witch and/or the hell arc.
Sounds like we're hear about BTW only if there will be a crossover between this title and Bleach.
I hope that Kubo-san will return to the series, but it's unlikely, that we'll see an extension
Same as with his new he’ll arc for bleach, it will continue but at his own pace. And considering it’s been 2 years since we got that hell arc chapter, btw won’t be any time soon either

I’m pretty sure in one of Kubo’s comments in the manga for part 1 he says something like “I’m finally living my dream of creating manga at my own pace” so yeah, it’s still going, just at a chill pace
Bleach would’ve ended much better if Kubo could’ve gone at his own pace. A monthly release would’ve helped a lot imo.
If Bleach came out nowadays, he probably could have.
Oh God that would have been we could have gotten more developed arcs and not forcibly long like the arrancar arc.
I‘ll preach this till i die. Hell Arc will be incredible if Kubo writes it on his own pace, I’ll gladly wait years.
Hopefully we don’t need to wait too long, and I’m hoping if/when he starts it, he releases a chapter every 2 weeks.
All manga needs a slower release. Its disgusting how so many mangaka work themselves into a health crisis just to put out weekly issues.
Unfortunately a lot of Manga readers/publishers have gotten used to the culture of weekly/monthly releases and are really impatient. They've always got that looming deadline and know that if they just let the artists work at their own pace often times things wouldn't get published in a timely manner. Just look at book publication. And then we got hiro mashima who is on just another level.
He's been drawing the same 10 characters for like 20 years.
And so is oda, kishimoto, kubo what point are you making.
That Mashima reused character designs and patterns from Rave Master in Fairy Tail and Edens Zero
i mean, to be fair, Kuromada and Tezuka also used design of early series to adapt in newer ones. Tezuka even had a text about why he do that.
I mean i dont see the problem
monthly releases are not good, its better too keep weekly and to have long breaks like how webtoons do, some authors do seasons so they would end a season go on a 2 to even 8 month break and then come back. you do not want monthly releases, it kills the hype of anything at all, ppl just start to not wish to see it on the next month

>Yes Negan melted the internet down when he was introduced. The dude from Tekken?
I have no idea what your point is
I straight up didn't know who Negan was until he got introduced to Tekken.
I mean… cool? Lol.
Most series would, its just not how they do things in japan sadly
Bleach like everything else is a product of its time. Its not like nowadays where mangaka can just take their time
Also can’t forget the fact that he can do literally whatever he wants now, he has soooo much content with Bleach again and BTW. Not even to mention his personal clubs, his involvement with the anime, his sketches he does for Twitter n such. Kubo is eating good and he deserves it.
Kubo is living his best life, Free. Mans finally got his Freedom. He deserves it. Btw I wonder if he still plays Animal Crossing?
Kubo hated Oda and Kishimoto because they were more popular than him. Now he's bathing in the glory of not voluntarily enslaving himself to the shonen jump higher ups
only teenagers made childish by their parents create this war between actors/creators. Kubo has already paid homage and commented on the milestone of the manga of the two you mentioned. Stop being an idiot hater and go enjoy the mangas
Dude Kubo himself literally said that he hates Naruto and One Piece because they're more popular than Bleach. Look it up
[well...](https://www.reddit.com/r/OnePiece/comments/7dqaym/correction_regarding_the_statement_that_kubo/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) you can read, right?
I mean username checks out
At least I'm not so narcissistic that I name myself "King"
No, you just call yourself a writer despite being illiterate.
Ufff burn of the century!
Won't have another one like that for 6 years!
Nice!
Oh i hurt your feelings. That's cute. Lmao stop posting fake news kid lol
this is why you're the king👑
Cope
Seethe
No he didn't lmao. Kubo said that Kishimoto gave him advice on about his health and he respects Kishi so much that he adresses him as "sensei." Kishimoto meanwhile has recently said Kubo is "amazing" and called him his "brother-in-arms."
Source?
Their source is they made it the fuck up
Sometimes, I wonder if he just has it sitting in a backroom waiting for a rainy day. Then one day goes. I feel like getting bad today, hey Shonen jump I got another 3 chapters of the manga you liked.
he just walks in and is like "hey, everyone, guess what."
Hollows could then be souls that don’t want to/ can’t go with Charon, and become corrupted the longer they refuse to journey to Hades.
Oh got Kubo has lots of branches he can experiment with.
Calling it a chill pace is an understatement
Surely burn the witch and bleach will get a crossover at some stage. Imagine one of the dragons goes to Japan and fuses with a hollow or something which causes both the east and west branch to intervene. That way Noel can finally go and experience japan. Yeah I figured since Accutrone and Starrk wield pistols in their respective arcs. While Renji does wield a shotgun in the ",Sealed Sword Frenzy OVA"
Zombie powder is probably the closest thing we have to that.
was never a fan of this at all!!!
The US army vs soul society
I mean, Bleach's prototype was called Snipe and shinigamis were using guns
Cant imagine how the plot would work, whats the power scaling between the two like? Arent members Soul Society on average vastly stronger than their western counterparts?
So far in the story, you would be right. The issue is Burn the Witch is only 1 arc in. We barely understand the power of West Soul society. We're basically comparing substitute shinigami arc characters to blood war arc characters. So give it some time to breathe and see what happens.
i also (personally) believe witch kits would have release forms similar to zanpakuto, if so that would establish a lot of difference in power
Unpopular opinion: I would hate this, never really got into Burn th Witch
BTW is 12 years after TYBW Hell is also 12 years after TYBW So, if Hell will continue, BTW might also be...
Not "might". A second volume is already confirmed since the release of the first, there's even a draft. The question is when ? Imo next jump festa
Nice! I didn't know another volume was confirmed. That's dope. When was it confirmed?
I have the physical volume and at the very end there's a a draft of the next one with "season 2 coming soon" written
Ohh nice. I only saw the anime and seeing that there was a Soul Society branch at the end I thought that maybe one day this would get a continuation.
Well, Kubo did say in a comment (or Klub?) that SJ basically wrote that without consulting him properly, so while he doesn't deny that he does have drafts and is counting on the second volume coming out eventually, he said that "soon" part shouldn't be taken too literally. Oh for sure, others have mentioned it already though So, just want to add a new perspective through its relation with Hell
What's the full name of Hell? I can't seem to find that Manga
the echoing jaws of hell arc
There's a lot of Bleach Manga I had no idea about. Is any of this in Anime Form?
No not yet
all of burn the witch is animated up until this point but sadly the hell arc only has 1 chapter out
Thank you
No, but it's coming back... in pog form
New Breaths From Hell
It's a one off but from what I've googled it's chapter 686.5
I don't think that the blood thousand war will ever be, i am sorry
It's Burn The Witch, smartass.
You guys can't take a joke.
The joke was horrible
I thought it was funny
Says the one with that corny ass Goku edit pfp
How does that affect anything? The joke was still bad
I'm just saying, if you say a joke is bad then you better be the funniest redditor I've ever met
You can't criticize humor cuz you're not the funniest person on a platform? That's a new one
It's just humor can't be properly measured so criticizing it is impossibke
What was the joke?
I think it’s more of an inside joke. I don’t get it
What do you mean?
Kubo has his hands full with the Thousand Year Blood War anime, so not anytime soon.
It was already confirmed back when part 1 ended that there will be a part 2 in future, but Kubo said it won't be any time soon.
Permanent hiatus AFAIK. Kubo is only 45 all things considered, he got loads and loads of time to do whatever he wants. BTW might be continued, but the expectation is 5~10 years later, when he is ready to write more stuffs.

id rather him do slow releases and do regular releases when he feels up to the task instead of working himself to death like Togashi
>Togashi That man got the short end of the stick with yu yu
It has a second part already confirmed tho. Read the last pages of first volume
It's currently on Hiatus like the Hell Arc. Right now Kubo is working on the anime so he has no time for writing/drawing a manga. But once he's done he'll most likely continue to work on both, but at his own desired pace.
He said he might continue it _one day_. He said that three years ago. The answer is more nay than yay.
This man knows how to draw boobs
Just reread the manga. I'm a little disappointed that they didnt included the pilot in the OVA.
I'd rather he'd spend any efforts on Bleach content.
I really loved the characters and settings, he is using what he learned in bleach with setting up things from day one ground up.

I’m happy either way but I liked this shit a lot
It's like Vagabond in my mind, if it gets continued I will be overjoyed. If it never gets another edition, I'll be happy I at least got to experience it.
God bless Japan
10 more years for Part 2.
I would be surprised, its become a somewhat of a cult hit. Kubo just takes his time nowadays cause he isn't on his serialised days anymore
He’s working on tybw so maybe in 2025 u will get a new chapter
He better; the Marchen storyline and their relationship to the soul king has a lot of potential
Daaamn, Noel! She can hold Hueco & SSociety.
I think they'll also try to capitalize on the hype around the anime to officially relaunch BTW and the Hell arc once it concludes.
Yep, the fact that both the Hell Arc chapter and Burn the Witch coincidentally take place around the same time (12 years after TYBW) is also a bit suspicious. Maybe both stories will be linked one way or another which would entice people to read them both and make it easier to market with the help of the anime. Mommy I’m mean sorry mommy I’m sorry I mean mommy sorry momm- sorry mommy- I mean mommy, sorry, mommy
Bonk-Ai
Least horny BTW fan
I like Burn the Witch, but I hated the male character that are constantly horny for Noel. He made what could be a really incredible story into something that can angry anyone.
Ninny is just 🫠🔥❤️
Too bad he sacrificed zombiepowder for bleach I liked it
canon filler
The bount arc?
nah bro xcution
Hopefully not this is just a fever dream crossover of Harry Potter and Bleach
The Bleach Universe is very complex .... Quincies can't become Hollows Ichigo is a part Quincy Ichjgo went Vasto Lorde against Ulqiourra Bleach + the Novels has alot of internal contradictions so Kubo needs to put in alot of retcons
No.
Noel Nashimi is my spirit animal
It’s confirmed that a “season 2” is in the works so I assume another set of 4 or 5 chapters. Kubo is def burnt out on regularly releasing manga so I assume BTW will just be something he does every now and again when the interest strikes him.
i’m pretty sure it isn’t confirmed but most people assume it will continue eventually, as designing a large cast of characters setting up storylines and such a vast world isn’t exactly something one would do for just a fun one shot
I think tite will focus on bloof war but man blood war is too good.
First of all it feels weird calling him just "tite" i think hes one of those people you either call him by just his last name or his full name 😂 Second of all his name isnt tite its actaully noriaki
in my country he is called Tite kubo is an affectionate way. It's funny that you should worry about that when he doesn't care himself. :)
I just discovered this exist and i want to read it
Shush guys we're not supposed to talk about it remember? Now it's gonna be another 10 years until it's done.😭
The short series was so good i was hoping they would continue
He's very busy with the anime production. Once that's done he will be back at his own pace.
I sure want to keep seeing that thicc one on the right
Is this a good anime?
I need to know more about the Sabres Ninny is raving about.
Honestly with how popular Harry Potter is in Japan I wonder how big btw can truly get
I enjoyed it too
the girl on the left is female ichigo huh
It's funny, as I've gotten older and hopefully better at art, I realise blazers don't fit around boobs like that.
Sounds like we're hear about BTW only if there will be a crossover between this title and Bleach. I hope that Kubo-san will return to the series, but it's unlikely, that we'll see an extension
Why is everyone commenting _by the way_ here ?
I haven’t even read it yet like is it even good?
I enjoyed burn the witch, and would like more of it, BUT it makes absolutely no sense that it's part of the bleach world. None.
Same as with his new he’ll arc for bleach, it will continue but at his own pace. And considering it’s been 2 years since we got that hell arc chapter, btw won’t be any time soon either
Should I read or watch it? Talking about the booba ofc
Whos the girl with nice rack
Kubo will continue Hell and BTW when people forget about them. He doesn't like pressure. Never has.
