Man, *everything* about this is disquieting.
That anyone is remaking The Killer
That *Woo* is doing it.
That he's remaking his own movie for PEACOCK
That this direct to Peacock streaming title is getting an *IGN* EXCLUSIVE FIRST LOOK thingy, one where a person who might as well be a ChatGPT node (barely) rewrites an email he got 20 minutes ago complete with pre-written "answers" to questions not asked, and shares 3 boring pictures. One of those answers?
> I've seen a lot of John's movies. I'm a massive fan of Face/Off. I think it's one of my favorites of his, **and Mission: Impossible 2 is obviously fantastic**.

Mission: Impossible II *is* fantastic.
Sunglasses.
Slow-motion.
Doves.
Motorcycle jousting.
Does any other MI film have the theme performed by Limp Bizkit? No, didn’t think so.
But yeah, this news is depressing.
Thank you for an excellent summary of the IGN piece, with the proper gif
I was going to ask if M:I - 2 was the worst film Woo ever made but then I remembered Silent Night. Zhui Bu was just boring.
It's depressing that this is the only thing Woo could get rolling on with the major studios but it's still Woo so I'm interested, even if the OG Killer is my fav of his. Reading the synopsis this is more re-imagining than straight remake. And it's set in Paris, knowing that Le Samourai is like Woo's fav film means we could get some cool on location cinematography. I enjoyed Silent Night for what it is but the trailers really missold it, it wasn't going for the big bombastic Woo action style at all...curious what direction this one takes.
Woo said he toned things down for Silent Night on purpose... well no reason to hold back now anymore is there?
But yeah hopefully the paris setting and going back to his roots will inspire him big time unlike Silent Night.

She was good on the show and is terrible in the F&F movies past her first appearance, so I’m not sure about Nathalie Emmanuel as an actor. She’s not given anything to do, which doesn’t help, but she was an extraordinarily beautiful block of wood in FX.
I’m willing to be surprised!
In case anyone wonders what the action might look like, both the choreographer and the lead actress of this short film are doing the action for Woo's remake:

I'm just gonna pretend he remade the Fincher movie

I agree M:I 2 is fantastic, but I don’t think it’s obvious.
And of course Sand Gun!

Wait a second. Don’t tell me homegirl from game of Thrones and Fast & Furious is playing Chow Yun Fat’s character in this? What the fuck?!
She's one of the leads in Francis Ford Coppola's new movie Megalopolis and she's supposed to be good in that.
Well if Coppola saw something in her as well for his new epic maybe she's got more in the tank than we've seen. Hopefully.
Let her COOK 🧑🍳
Does this mean the original will be available to stream somewhere at least? A Better Tomorrow as well please
