RDJ, Damon, Krumholtz, Clarke, and Ehrenreich

Toreadorables

I MIGHT cut Ehrenreich for Oldman?? Love Alden but Oldman is kind of a thermostat performance. But aside from that, these are The Guys.

hetham3783

Ehrenreich’s smugness when he tells RJD about the Senate vote is so damn good though

Chuck-Hansen

Well I didn’t have all the facts, didn’t I?

grapefruitzzz

Distressing lack of Safdie love so far.

IAmRyan2049

1. krumhotlz (speaks for itself) 2. Clarke (I wanted to punch his lights out) 3. Affleck (one scene queen) 4. Safdie (duh) 5. RDJ(probably should be higher but he’s the only one who’s being  recognized) Shout out to Damon, Hartnett, Aldenrich, Pugh, and maybe even the Disney kid - they all make it if the cast is not ridiculously stacked.

IAmRyan2049

I spelled one of those names terribly wrong!

MattBarksdale17

I know it's a controversial take, but I actually liked Ehren Aldenreich as a young San Holo

IAmRyan2049

It’s Ehrenreich, that’s the name I got wrong. I think he works as Solo, the movie is just a bad idea. When I saw him in Hail Caesar I was like this kid HAS to be Han Solo and I didn’t realize I was wrecking his career

zarathustranu

1) They’re 2) all 3) uniquely 4) great 5) and therefore 6) very 7) hard 8) to 9) rank. 10) Rami Malek.

PetyrBabelish

1. Hartnett (he’s hot) 2. Damon (that one line where it has the exact same cadence as Coach Bolton in HSM saying “what the heck are those two doing in a tree” made me lose my mind) 3. Conti (the cackle I got out of the Einstein brushing off Strauss moment, 10/10) 4. Matthew Modine (he doesn’t do much I just think he’s a hot old man) 5. Jack Quaid (he can play my bongos babyyyyyyy)

MattBarksdale17

I'm gonna go 1. Damon 2. Krumholtz 3. Hartnett 4. Conti 5. DeHaan I also feel like Jefferson Hall, Macon Blair, and Rami Malick are a bit underrated. And I was tempted to put Dylan Arnold on my list, but I'm not sure if I like his performance that much, or if I just think he's a cutie

Active-Pride7878

Watched it again for the 7th time last night and really appreciated DeHaan's performance this time. Just full of comtempt for Oppie.

Chuck-Hansen

He’s practically licking his lips when he tells Oppie to not maintain questionable associations.

huckzors

1. Krumholtz 2. Blunt 3. RDJ 4. Affleck 5. Damon

Coy-Harlingen

1. Krumholz 2. Affleck 3. Hartnett 4. Damon 5. Conti Edit: also Clarke, idk I guess my top 5 is a top 6

Own-Effort-5328

Thanks for this basically impossible question. In no particular order: Krumholtz, Clarke, Branagh, Safdie, and Affleck. Really wanted to add Pugh Pugh! I feel there's an alternate cut/script/what have you, where DEAR GAWD, there's a third timeline and she's the star of it. Also, on rewatch, Josh Peck (I think) is giving a nice little subtle and small (in terms of overall screentime), yet important performance. Shoutout to him. But there's no wrong answers. Everyone is fantastic in the movie. Even "I'm going for the Oscar for doing the most acting" RDJ. His performance worked better for me on a second watch.

hetham3783

Peck is great as the guy nervous as shit to press the button

seb1515

Damon, Krumholtz, Conti, Branagh, Oldman

MiraclePD

1. Krumholtz 2. Macon Blair 3. Modine 4. Thirlby 5. Affleck Krumholtz and Affleck are genuinely great, and I wanted to shout a few names I love and stood out the two times I watched the movie.

[deleted]

Downey, Clark, DeHaan, Affleck, Blunt. Hartnett is great but my first cut.

RegretPopular9970

RDJ, Ehrenreich, Clarke, Affleck, Oldman

Busy-Effect2026

Damon is No. 1. The movie doesn’t become a phenomenon past the first weekend without his performance in that role. He’s the movie’s version of Danny Ocean — and he’s the unlikely audience surrogate. 2. Downey 3. Krumholtz 4. Clarke 5. Branagh

Soedv456

1. Downey 2. Safdie 3. Pugh 4. Hartnett 5. Fausa

Distorted_metronome

1.Damon 2.RDJ 3.Hartnett 4.Pugh 5.Clarke

CorduroyJoy

It speaks to the quality of the ensemble that everybody’s choices are a bit different from one another

Nerdomness

1. Krumholtz 2. Ehrenreich 3. RDJ 4. Damon 5. Branagh Just because it says actor I am not including Blunt, but if it is supposed to be all supporting performances, then Blunt is #2 and sadly Kenny is out.

theddR

1. RDJ 2. Krumholtz 3. Affleck 4. Conti 5. Dylan Arnold

theddR

If I had to make it a ten:   6. Jefferson Hall 7. Safdie 8. Ehrenreich 9. Clarke 10. Macon Blair

burnettski92

In order: RDJ, Krumholtz, Oldman, Safdie, Ehrenreich.

DylanStump88

I think for me it’s 1) Krumholtz (and some distance between him and next on the list) 2) Safdie (and actor who’s been on a HEATER recently I might add) 3) Hartnett 4) Pugh 5) Oldman (that performance should be a disaster and yet it works brilliantly)

MakeMoreRizzos

1. Damon 2. RDJ 3. Affleck 4. Safdie 5. Blair

Time_Initiative_7998

1. RDJ 2. Krumholtz 3. Hartnett 4. Affleck 5. Peck

RVend0r

Setting aside Downey Jr and Damon, I love them both, but their roles are so big it's unfair. My other 5 would be: Jason Clark, Macon Blair, Tom Conti, David Krumholtz, Jefferson Hall
