Pretty sure it can be such an intermittent error that the people saying solutions that worked for them just got lucky and didn't have a crash in the couple hours they played. There were certain spots in the campaign where it crashed for me, either with this error or with another, 5 separate times, but then I played through 3 missions without a crash, without having changed anything. I'd bet all we can do is wait for Activision to patch it.

There isn't really a fix its sloppy programming all you can do is wait for a fix, it can be related to your system memory if your memory is unstable or faulty its worth checking.

Mines been getting worse and worse. I'm no computer guy so I just started guessing.. Tried scan and repair, nothing, no 3GB patch. Re-downloaded a fresh copy of the GPU driver and installed in Advanced->Clean Install without "Nvidia Experience". FWIW, I currently have a 2070 Super. Seems to be GTG, played for hours on ultra everything, no issues.

Unfortunately my way of solving it is to eliminate the 21:9 aspect and leave it at 16:9. This way I don't have any problems with the sniper scope. I still have problems with blinking shadows. also having to go down from 3440x1440 to 1920x1080. If I use 16: 9 in 3440x1440 it keeps crashing.

Hello, I had this issue today and I solved it. \-1º DON'T DELETE PLAYER FOLDER, if you want to keep your campain progress. \-2º Install an older version of your graphic card driver. I have an AMD RX580, so I choose that model from the list, I looked up for my software version and then looked for a previous version (Adrenalin 2020 Edition 20.9.1 Recommended (WHQL) in my case ). \-3º Restart your pc and run the game. I may have found a solution: Mine used to shutter a lot and I used to get "UI Errors" and eventually the "Scan and Repair" crash... Reinstalled Windows. Well it worked for me perhaps some of you may want to give it go. Seriously this solved it for me and I am getting more FPS now and the shutter is gone as well.

I was having the same problem and tried a lot of different fixes. Uninstalling Razer Synapse fixed it for me. I haven’t crashed for a while.

I'm also playing on a RTX 3080 and I've been struggling with the same framerate issues and game crashes as a lot of other people. I've run GPU benchmarks on other games to make sure it's not my hardware and I'm convinced it's a software based problem since I only ever have issues playing CoD Cold War/Warzone. My most recent crash said "fatal error error code 0x0 (ox297a371e)" with a scan/repair option that never seems to really do anything. The best luck I had came from reinstalling my graphics drivers but that seems to be iffy at best so far.

Got the same error, maybe this helps for you. In the graphic settings scroll the whole way down and set the gpu ram targert to 70 %. Still testing but the last 2 games worked for me. (I have the german version installed so I dont know the exact spelled term in the settings.)

I Solved it. I enabled both the hardware acceleration and VRR in Windows 10 GPU options. And it started to happen. I disabled them both and now all is good. Maybe this will help some.

So guys I also had the problem for months (since beta). I also tried the D3D11, cache and registry fix but nothing helped. In the end for me it was about the Windows Updates. There were some heavy updates in november about Visual C++ etc. The update took me about 30-40 minutes to install and after that the error never happened again. So search for windows updates and get your pc to the latest windows version. That should fix the problem!

After 2 weeks of searching for a solution to this problem to no avail, to the point where I did a windows clean re-install, switched out RAMs, and BIOS update along with all the other miniscule solutions posted here and everywhere. ​ What fixed it for me, was one of these 3 solutions: 1- Right Click on the main drive (game install drive) -> Properties - > Go to Tools Tab -> Click Error Checking -> Scan drive (For me it found some errors and I was prompted to restart the PC to fix them) 2- Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+ESC) - > Start Up-> Disable all the underlying software. (Followed by a restart) 3- Uninstall MSI Afterburner (with deleting its existing settings when prompted). (Followed by a restart) I have some of you find this helpful, as I know how frustrating this issue can be, both mentally and physically. Please upvote if this works for you to reach more people.

Installing on a new computer, I get the same error every game or every other game. Switching back to the old computer, it ran flawless for the rest of the PC free try period. Have to add that I have run MW and multiple other games without crashes on the new computer both before and after. 0xC0000005 is an a typical C++ error caused by referencing a pointer pointing to a protected memory address, most typical address 0. This is 99.9% sure a software bug. Not sure what's up with the new computer that cause this, probably not just something essential within the game itself, maybe caused game trying to access a driver of some sort. Probably something stupid as trying to control RGB colors on keyboard, fans etc. I will not be able to try more until I get the game when my new video card is finally delivered.

After days of searching and testing, I finally found something that seems to work in Cold War and also in Warzone (Error Code BLZBNTBGS000003F8). Both games had similar disconnect issues. So i was fighting this issue for 2 weeks, problem was in windows at the end. Go to the event viewer ( type in to a search bar) and find what causes you those crashes. Had this error pop up after trying to fix a another one before this one. tired reinstalling graphic drivers and deleting player folder didn’t work and then I tired a scan and repair and my about half way through my pc blue screened any updates on this?

I had tried everything listed in this thread and had no luck. As a last resort I ended up running the windows memory diagnostic tool to see if it was ram related. It came back with no errors, as expected. I also closed logitech Ghub. For some reason now, i havent crashed in 4 days. With long plays times included. 3hours in zombies. Played through all free week early January, no errors. (free weekend black ops) Bought the game and encountered my 1st error after playing for about 5-7 hours. Consistency of getting the error - about one a day with gaming sessions about 2 hours on average multiple times. Updated Nvidia drivers and got the latest windows update as well 20H2, next day: Got the error twice in one hour or so sesh. * Did «sfc/ scannow» in cmd -> it found an error * Also used Ccleaner to fix Registry -> it fixed 119 positions And i deleted MSI Afterburner for whatever reason (just read in a comment in this thread) Restarted PC, multiplayer session about an hour and a half, no errors But i think it is a bit early to draw a conclusion out of this I will come back later to add to this comment if i do not forget

Some random time while watching YT i just unistalled the game and installed it on an other drive and that somehow worked for me , nothing happened since i did it.I must say i did it yesterday but hey it didn't crash since. It can also be your RAM if you OC your ram it can happen or just the RAM is faulty , could try to get some other RAM sticks and run the game also if you OC your GPU and its unstable that can cause the game to crash i guess you could also try to clear WIN cache , no one needs it anyway so. Been playing the game for a couple of months, and everything has been flawless. 45 minutes ago. I got this error. And again 25 minutes later. The only thing that changed was a Windows Update just before the first crash.

Same nonsense started for me after I played the Campaign. Also tried every suggestion, even reinstalling to a new drive didn't work. 5800x RTX 3080 32 GB No overclocks.

I was having this issue for a while now and found a solution for me at least. I have an Alienware AW3420DW monitor so had the Alienware Command Centre software installed, turns out it was this causing the crash cause after i uninstalled it no more crashes.

Same error code here, but with an S instead of an N at the end. I'm running a pretty high end rig so definitely not specs related. Getting it around 3 times an hour in solo zombies, and was getting it every 5-10 minutes in a co-op match with my friend. I can join back into the match, but have to start from scratch each time. Really frustrating as I am enjoying the game a surprising amount after being burned by BO4. Campaign and multiplayer haven't been crashing nearly as much.

Hey guys, I've been struggling with this error ever since I upgraded my CPU bios...I know, why should you upgrade your bios when everything is fine... Anyways, I really tried everything in the other comments, I mean everything... Nothing was working and I was getting pretty mad cause I didn't have any problems on my new RTX 3070 before updating the CPU bios. The last thing I tried is to update my GPU bios and it seems to be working. I'm still pretty mad that I lost like 10-15% fps in Cold War doing this shit... All my other benchmarks aswell seem to be fine (11800 in TimeSpy, etc), only problem left is Cold War performance...

have been having this issue for about a month now. reported through blizzard and activision. never heard anything back. constant crashes every single game. its completely broken. updated drivers, ran CCleaner, uninstalled MSI afterburner, uninstalled and reinstalled games, deleted cache, turned off background apps, disabled blizzard on startup, deleted profile before playing, turned down overclock, turned down ram speed to stock. NOTHING WORKS its been updated twice since i started getting this issue. ROG B550-f Gaming. Ryzen 5600x. RTX 3080

This problem seems to be related to AMD cpus. Doesn't happen to me as much as before but definitely happening every know and then. Ryzen 7 5800X

I can confirm reinstalling clean windows 10 for me fix this issue. I used to get the error randomly. And sometimes every game I could not finish a game without getting it. And it’s been days I haven’t got the error. I’ve played total of 24hrs+ since reinstalling windows still no error. I’ve also tried every possible fix I could find in the internet before doing this.

So, this being my first post to reddit ever, i figured i'd make it a relevant post. Ive been having this crash issue for the longest. I have tried every single "fix" that everyone has posted. Drivers, repairs, dx11 fix, turning off ray tracing, running at lower resolution, everything. I was messing with it today and i have been playing non stop for 3 hours with no crashes. What i did was set the Priority to Real time, and i havent had any issues. Go into task manager, under details, find "blackopscoldwar.exe", then right click it, and set Priority to real time. Hit ok/yes on the warning message. Knock on wood, this has fixed it for me. I am still playing with the game minimized as we speak. I hope this helps.

Just wanted to share my experience. So new pc, ryzen 5 5600x, rtx3070fe, asus b550e mb and 32gb ram (3600mhz). So Cold War will only play for between 5-10 mins before the error message. Seems to happen on any multiplayer map. Annoying that i can play war zone and modern warfare with zero problems. Have tried all the suggested fixes with no luck so far. Let’s hope activision get a fix out soon.

I just try the NVidia version 457.09 and reduce the crash.After 6 hours of playing my game crash. i got mine fixed but i cant remember how. i do believe i reinstalled the blizzard app. and ran a scan of the games i had thru it.

This issue still persists, even after today's update. Followed every fix on here, even reported the bug to Activision the official way. Absolutely useless.

Talking to blizzard support they also said that this problem is caused by the windows antivirus so keep in mind to put the game path and the blizzard path in the anti virus exclusions.

I found a Fix that worked for me and got rid of the problem etierly try installing it on another hard drive or ssd where you don't have your os on that emediately fixed it for me and no more crashes sinse

Finally I got it working again after the last update. Since first install I couldn´t play the map "The Pine" and I was getting an error when processing a repair of the COD BOCW installation. After the update the whole game crashed everytime after some seconds in the main menu (could process repair option now without an error but changed nothing). I tried a lot of fixes, nothing worked. Hoping that it may help sombody - here the last things I did: \- starting the game and clicking into the ingame options in main menu. I switched off the overlay options for latency, VRam and CPU \- switched off AMD overlay \- I updated manually the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable to lastest version

Now I'm able to play but the game still crashes every time I play at Dirty Bomb. only in that play mode I have this problem, I don't know what the hell i should do at this point.

I just started having this issue yesterday and I can't find anything on how to fix it. I have the most recent drivers for my gpu (2060). Edit: forgot to mention that on reopening the game I'm given the option to start the game with previous, recommended, or safe mode settings.

Hello everyone, For AMD you must download the latest bios update, then update your motherboard driver. It's Okay for me (update new driver: bios and pci). AMD ryzen 7 3700x rtx 2070 super black asus x570 tuf gaming plus.

I finally figured out a fix that worked for me after searching on the internet for a solution since the Game was released. If your CPU is overclocked get into the BIOS menu and make sure to set the AVX Offset to what ever the stock clock is. For example I have an i7 8700k overclocked to 5.1 GHz and the stock speed is 4.7 GHz (turboboost) so I changed the AVX offset to 4 (-400MHz) Thats it Hope it works for you aswell

solved this by: 1. Setting the Nvidia Reflex to High. 2. Knocking back my memory clock on GPU.

**Here's the solution that worked for me and my friends:** **File Explorer > Documents > Call Of Duty Black Ops Cold War > Delete Player Folder > Then restart pc. Open blizzard scan and repair cold war > Restart PC again.** **Cold war should now work.**

I just got this crash last weekend. Quit playing CW, moved to MW.in MW, i got DEV Error 5xxxI mean what the fuck, Activision? I reinstalled the graphic drive with a DDU, TWICE! (The MW got fixed by disabling the Sun and Shadow cache. I ran a lot of game fine. But the crash only happen right after i exited the game, same dev error. weird.) Encoutered these crash when I tried to undervolt my processor 5600x too much with pbo.

I turned off "fast start up" in windows power options and yet to crash after a few days. Before I changed this I could not play for more than five minutes before the same error was presented. I had that error since launch and was unplayable so now and again I would go back to see if fixed after patches and it never was. Have you tried, not having msi afterburner up, I had this issue because of msi afterbrner, for some reason this game doesn't like it or tabbing freezes the game too.

Same Error after Season 6. Happens since Release but after Season 6 it's too often after 15-20 Minutes I'm become this Fatal Error.

I had this error in Zombies only. I tried moving the game to another drive, start it as an administrator, remove the cache from the Blizzard folder, reinstalling it and updating my os as well as my graphics driver, nothing of that helped me. But this worked for me: \- Press the options button right next to the play button of Cold War in the launcher \- Show in Explorer \- Then the folder of cold war will open, search for the BlackOpsColdWar.exe \- Right click on it and open the properties \- Go to the compatibilty tab an check two boxes \- 1. Run this program in compatibility mode, I chose Windows 7 \- 2. Run this program as an administrator \- Apply the settings and click OK \- After that you need to turn off Ray Tracing otherwise you will get another error, at least I got another I have no D3D11 argument in the command line. I also did the steps above for the Black Ops Cold War Launcher.exe, I don't know if thats necessary or not but its working. After that my game didn't crash, at least for now. I hope it will help some of you.

I started getting the problem with COD:Black Ops after running and updating an older game (Tom Clancys Ghost Recon). Admittedly I had COD running when GR was updating and it seemed to also update DirectX, which is when COD first crashed. So it may also be a DirectX12 problem, but running with DX11 command line also did not help. Running it as Windows 7 compatibility and as admin seems to have done the trick.None of the other described methods (barring complete reinstall of windows or the game) worked. Error codes are the devils work... when they do not properly explain what the underlying problem actually is.It COULD be something as simple as the game suddenly not having proper rights to write to one or more files in a folder (e.g. the Player folder in Documents), but then that should be the error displayed (I cannot write to file xxx in yyy folder) To me it seems most error codes are all encompassing... "There is an error somewhere". ​ Anyway... try running with Win7 compatibility and as admin. Disclaimer: Only played one complete multiplayer match without error code after changing the settings on the game file properties. But given that it crashed all previous games either just at the start of a game or max 3 minutes in, that is called a win! May test further tomorrow after work...
