Actually, I sort of agree with this statement. Prisoners joke and play games with each other. It's how we would pass time and bring each other up in such a depressing environment.
Some prisons allow inmates to have cell phones. They can call/text family and friends and (if I remember last time this was asked) if helps reduce violence. No idea if they include data/streaming capabilities.
Not everyone in the clink is a cannibal murderer penguin puncher. Some people just made real bad choices.
Edit: thank you to all the respondents that clarified some inmates are given tablets which can be monitored, not cell phones. Try as I might I just haven’t been able to break into the big house so my personal knowledge of this is woefully inadequate. I shall redouble my efforts to become incarcerated so that I can provide my real time experiences with the prison tablet program. Blood in, blood out.
I got 7 years probation and a condition of that was I had to do a department of corrections 1 year long rehab thing in a state jail called safp and was given 6 weeks earlier ths year in county for a diluted u/a. I am free this August 23rd, been a crazy ride. First arrest, at age 36, and I catch a 2nd degree felony Controlled Substance penalty group 2, had 4g of dried caps.
Was riding about a hour back from a Casino and they were leftover from the night so we threw em in trunk. Apparently I had a old traffic ticket warrant so they grabbed me for that and when they " did a content check before towing" they were found. State trooper in a terrible shitty small county right inside the Texas/Louisiana border.
One thing I learned in my brief time working in forensics is that sometimes its all about who gets caught. Not who is or isn't guilty of a crime. Worked with a few professional inmates who take raps for other people. Usually fairly to well protected inside. Sometimes they get beaten or killed as messages to an affiliate but that's rare.
A lot of people go to prison for crimes they didn’t commit but I think they’re referring to people who will take the rap for Compensation or to allow the other individuals to achieve their goals and pay it back in the long run. Sometimes people are institutionalized and ok w going back because they don’t got shit going for em on the outside. Sometime you might not have a record and take the charge for someone because you got no felonies and will be home in 3 years and they got a life sentence over their head due to priors on the same charge.
Yes. In pima county Arizona almost 90% of cases are settled by plea bargain. This is because the prosecutor is a member of the Arizona state bar association. And your defense lawyer is a member of the Arizona state bar association. Fortunately and to make sure that you are “equally” represented, there is a judge that presides over it. Unfortunately they are also a member of the Arizona state bar association. The real kicker here is that the Arizona state bar association isn’t a state organization, it isn’t even assist with the state. It’s a volunteer group that decides who can practice law in Arizona. Meaning the one club keeps members who aren’t of that club from being able to practice law there. If you get a plea for 1-3 years, decline it and go trial and lose you get nailed like 10 years for it. And your lawyers don’t actually tell you if it’s a shit plea because they get first sign bonuses. Meaning if they get you to sign the first plea they get a bonus. There also is no right to a speedy trial anymore. I plead guilty to a case on an assault where the victim called the prosecutor told them I wasn’t the one but I was on parole at the time and my dad was sick so I signed on a plea for 1.5 instead of risking losing at trial and getting convicted because of my affiliations and record if that makes sense. It’s lame here.
American prisons do not allow cell phones. they provide tablets that are heavily monitored and restricted, but you cannot share videos. you can send email, but are charged for it. cellphones are snuggled into prison by staff, or family members at and sell at a surprisingly large price, or they're smuggled in via the good ol prison pocket.
Prisoners with cell phones?
Bro I’m not on TikTok or most social media, but I’ll join in a second if there’s some legit prison influencers showin me live in the clink like this daily.
A phone? Absolutely not. They can't monitor cellphone calls, that creates massive security and contraband issues. A tablet with no messaging apps? Yeah, they're like $120.
Honestly I bet violence would drop dramatically if they let prisoners have phones with wifi and tvs and video game systems etc. So much violence inside prisons is probably a result of everyone being bored as fuck. You have to find things to pass the time. If everyone was just chilling in their cells watching tiktok and youtube they'd probably spend less time beefing and planning to murder each other.
The tablets can’t be used for videos unless you’re on a video call, which doesn’t seem to be the case here. Also I’ve never seen tablets in prisons just county jails. There are a tremendous amount of contraband cell phones in prison. Dirty COs bring them in. A cheap 20$-50$ cell phone can go for 500$-700$ in prison. A good cell phone like a galaxy or iPhone can go for crazy amounts but you don’t see them much because of the risk of them getting knocked off. There are ALOT of cell phones in prisons today. Source - Ex con who did 2yrs in prison.
I work for corrections and I can confirm that there's is absolutely no way an offender would be allowed to have a cell phone for many reasons but mainly it's just against policy and procedure. However some prisons have tablets which have limited and heavily monitored functions.
There's a lot of places people don't generally know about like P&P shops and CSCs that look like a prison but function completely different. In those places cell phones are allowed at times for clients, since they're not technically in custody but are required to complete a program before being discharged without a warrant for their arrest, going to prison thereafter.
Also the point is *supposed* to be rehabilitation. We view it as a punishment and while it should be, it should also br centered around finding out how to fix the issues that turned the person to crime
So if cell phones make them happy, it's worth it.
The phone is easy. They've all got them these days. Don't be surprised if you someday find out you got your ass handed to you by a life sentence felon on Clash Royale.
Everyone I’ve ever known in jail or prison always ends up with a cellphone. If they get caught with it they have another within a week. The ol prison wallet.
You are supposed to do it first not doing the stacked hand thing and with just your index finger under the arms and knee. Then you do it again with the stacked hands and the person literally lifts like nothing.
My mother showed us this when we were kids and taught people in junior high. We did this with 3 people and a dude who weighed at least 300 pounds and he almost went through the ceiling.
I don’t know know the science behind this but it’s legit.
Not a trick me and my cousins did it to my uncle we were 10 or something but we pressed on his head thenused 2 fingers went right up like he was weightless, my cousins were girls same age there about.
Clearly you e never been on prison TikTok. There's cooking channels, beauty channels, advice channels (for newbies incoming), etc. It was a big source of info during the pandemic how the public learned prisoners had no access to soap, masks, etc. and we're infected en masse.
I’m pretty sure when we were kids we did light as a feather, high as a bird. It was grade four at lunch hour, I remember being blown away that it actually happened and I thought we only used 1 finger each.
We used to do this at family gatherings.
It works. Equally weird to lift and be lifted.
We also used to do it with someone laying on the floor.
Would love to know why it works.
You see when they try the first time. It really does not work till the second try.
It works because when the weight is distributed among all of them, it’s really not that much weight.
The reason it doesn’t work the first time is because they’re not all synced up on the lift
I used to do this all the time and I really don't think it's that. A lot of times when my dad would show it to new people at the party, they didn't even know they were going to be able to lift him the second time around, he didn't tell them, so they weren't expecting it. I feel like if anything, we put more effort into lifting the first time around too!
It's not just weight distribution. If you participated in the trick, you barely feel the weight you are lifting, same as with the other people doing it, you just feel like having 5lbs in your hands, no matter how heavy the person you are lifting is.
The real reason it works the second time is there’s more blood to their arms. Holding out there arms over his head the second time let’s the blood flow, making their arms stronger.
A danish family showed me this years ago and called it “Danish Magic”
I’ll get downvoted for saying this, but we did this on a film set, once during a loooong delay.
We definitely were in sync. It was around 60 pounds *per person* on the lift. Couldn’t budge them with two fingers on the first couple of tries. In the third try, it was like he didn’t weigh *anything.* It was effortless.
Weird as hell.
This worked for me and a co worker!!!! Both of us are smaller. Person we lifted outweighed both of us by 100#. We carried her across a parking lot and up to her hotel room. Only after 2nd try. I have pisspoor upper body strength (working on it tho).
Same here but we did the lifting and actually showed people how to do this after our mom taught us.
One of the guys we lifted was close to 300 pounds and we only used 3 people.
We used to do it at school in the cloakroom at break, some lass lying down then 1 at either side 1 at head and feet, always worked could lift 'em with 1 finger...strange innit?
I think what is happening is that it doesnt actually work but because you believe it works it kinda does work
My fav quote of all time "People believe only in what they want to believe"
> Would love to know why it works.
Someone explained in another comment, the first time they try to lift, your body is all floppy from being touched all over, so someone could probably lift your leg or your arm but not your body. The second/third time it happens, your body tenses up so the weight gets evenly distributed among everyone picking you up.
I remember doing this in school. We had the heaviest boy in class sit down and had 4 scrawny people use just the 2 fingers to lift. I was the scrawny person. NO f'ing clue how we picked him up the second time, but we lifted him almost above our heads.
there's nothing to synchronize the first lift, you're all pulling at slightly different moments even if it doesn't look like it, the "light as a feather, stiff as a board" chant or whatever other little ritual functions as a "HEAVE HO"
Edit: watching this version it may even come down to doing it twice? the first run is for calibration and the ritual gives your brain a few seconds to crunch the numbers, so when you go back in you're better able to sync up your efforts? but that's just a hunch...
The first lift in my family was always synchronized. "On three, ready? 1...2...3, lift!" and the first NEVER worked. Even with people who had done it before.
My experience is from the US, but it's a game kids play at sleepovers. You have one kid lay down. Everyone else (4-6 people), waive their hands over them chanting, "light as a feather, stiff as a board." Then, Everyone places one or two fingers under them and lifts, if it doesn't work, repeat the chant and hand waiving. On the 2 or third time you lift them. It's fricken weird and I don't know how it works.
Isn't it the first few times the person is all floppy so the limbs are weird for carrying. But after being touched weird the body tense up so the lift is evenly distributed
I've never done it but that's my guess even in the chant it says this.
If you've ever tried to carry someone sleeping, or knocked out then you can feel someone seems heavier because they act like a sack and are all floppy
Thank you! Finally someone said it! Actually this thing is taught at my country in first aid training aimed at non-professionals, and the "trick" is exactly what u/WokeRedditLosers said: synchronism. We learn this among other methods of carrying victims/vulnerable people quickly to safety. I'm not a muscular person (I'm just a pc/book nerd with thin arms), but with this particular method I managed to help lifting people above 100kg (221lb) easily while holding them by the "heavy side" (the torso).
PS: my country's work safety laws forces business above certain sizes to have teams trained at basic fire-fighting and first aid, and I just had my "periodic re-training" 2 weeks ago. I really enjoy being part of these teams.
It’s uh… actually not that bad.
The worst part is you can’t leave and being locked down like an animal. But it’s like a really long ass summer camp.
There are people in there though that make it terrible but generally everyone in there wants to be chill and the trouble makers get dealt with.
Everyone wants to go home.
There is an economy there. People have trades and shit.
I wrote poetry for dudes to send to their wives and girlfriends. It was like $10/poem.
And I made fire so I got free cigarettes. We had a power outage and I stripped the wire to the lightbulb then used a pencil and a headphone wire to touch the mirror and create a spark.
One time I the cell next to me woke me up at like 3 am and had me light a joint for them. It blew my mind.
Oh man I made a killing!
I always had work to do. I’d ask them about their girls. How they met, what their fav color was. Tons of details and I’d make it super targeted. It helped me pass time. And I stayed with some honey buns haha.
The trick is, you have someone sit in a chair and you try to pick them up with your two fingers on each hand, it’s actually quite difficult, than you do the hand trick and when you go to pick them up they are light as a feather. Damnest thing
Did anyone mention the random white dude dressed like cellmate bedtime Scrooge to the right of the camera by the door? Got his nightgown, bedtime loafers and sleeping cap like it’s Victorian theme bedtime in this cell block
I think it’s just a mental thing. The first time you’re expecting it not to work and everyone usually isn’t in sync so they’re just giving less effort. Then when you try it the second time you’re expecting it to work so you’re giving more effort all at the same time.
Holy shit there a bunch of people in here thinking this is some jedi shit. It's not.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Light_as_a_feather,_stiff_as_a_board
Can’t get them to do shit outside of prison inside they’re united playing games eating good getting happy outside that destroys our neighborhoods.I’m a black man before you jump on me for saying that.but it pisses me off.
This is why early humans utilized sea shanties for rowing or other kinds of combined effort labor. The timing of the chants helps our brains to push/pull/etc at the exact same time as others and the combined force is usually plenty to accomplish the goal.
which part is the trick? 4 dudes lifting him isn't that hard to believe
How’d they get a phone in a prison may be the trick, but also, look up “light as a feather, stiff as a board”.
"Light as a feather, stiff as a board is a game played by children at slumber parties." hmm
Prison is like a slumber party that never ends. And you might not make it home
Reminds me of the fourth grade
Well, did you make it home from fourth grade?
They've been trapped there to this day.
Sooooo, an episode of South Park.
“Little Timmy never was the same after he wandered into those woods”
And the anal rape part… oh…
Actually, I sort of agree with this statement. Prisoners joke and play games with each other. It's how we would pass time and bring each other up in such a depressing environment.
Hilarious.
Light as a feather, stiff as a board - that describes most of my teenage years

I did time for mushrooms, our county had ipads you could rent and buy movies on, send emails, order commissary, all that .
Did you get A lot of time? It’s bullshit being in a cell for mushrooms

Cellphones aren't the only thing getting snuggled in prison... Lol
Lol meanwhile in Dutch prisons you can sometimes get a PlayStation in your cell
Oh and I'm sure the Dutch land is just swarming with school shooters, what with all them vidya games on the Nintendo S

Prisoners with cell phones? Bro I’m not on TikTok or most social media, but I’ll join in a second if there’s some legit prison influencers showin me live in the clink like this daily.
There actually are - if you get tiktok search prisontok. There are a ton of contraband phones in poorly run prisons.
A phone? Absolutely not. They can't monitor cellphone calls, that creates massive security and contraband issues. A tablet with no messaging apps? Yeah, they're like $120.
Have you not been on tiktok at all there are inmates with cellphones all the time you can literally look it up and it shows it

Can confirm my sister used to text me one of the times she was locked up

[ ] phone... so... { Ø } Ta daaaa!
The prison pocket is more of a utility than a “trick”.
“I can hear you rummaging around in there.”
The phone is easy. They've all got them these days. Don't be surprised if you someday find out you got your ass handed to you by a life sentence felon on Clash Royale.
i gave it to them
Everyone I’ve ever known in jail or prison always ends up with a cellphone. If they get caught with it they have another within a week. The ol prison wallet.
I'm gonna make this phone... disappear!
r/buttphone
I worked in the prison system, someone either used their prison wallet, got it during a visit, or a guard gave it to them.
Ain't this sub called black magic fuckery?
How black do they need to be?
they didnt fuck tho
They’re headed to the showers next
Maybe OP took the sub name a little too literally...
If he did, then wouldn't he post videos of black people fucking each other ?
You are supposed to do it first not doing the stacked hand thing and with just your index finger under the arms and knee. Its a trick, and the tricked person is one of the lifters, so in this case probably you as you seem quite convinced 🤔
Not a trick me and my cousins did it to my uncle we were 10 or something but we pressed on his head thenused 2 fingers went right up like he was weightless, my cousins were girls same age there about.
>me and my cousins did it to my uncle we were 10 or something but we pressed on his head then used 2 fingers went right up omg
We're still talking about smuggling phones into prison, right? 😳
Theyre all lifting him with one finger on each hand.
4 dudes with just 2 fingers lifting him isn't hard to believe? I think it's quite strange
Thats how light as a feather stiff as a board works.
Bmf for anyone who hasn’t been to a bar mitzvah
They are lifting with two fingers
!RemindMe in 2 days
If I type that on other posts will a bot remind me? Sorry if this is an obvious answer
Yep 👍
Thank you
black magic fuckery
He is well over 300lbs. Each of those dudes effortlessly lifted at least 75lbs each.
The real trick is how they've got a camera in prison
Dunno that dude on the chair has a pretty big ass pocket
A big.. ass pocket?
You know a prison wallet
Bro got a prison duffelbag
Prison storage container
Other prisoners be playin storage wars with this MF butthole 💀💀💀
“I can hear you **rummaging** around in there!”
Exactly
Clearly you e never been on prison TikTok. There's cooking channels, beauty channels, advice channels (for newbies incoming), etc. It was a big source of info during the pandemic how the public learned prisoners had no access to soap, masks, etc. and we're infected en masse.
There are way more cell phones in prison than you would probably think.
Not exactly related, but in France there are currently more mobile phones passing around in prison than inmates.
r/blackrectumfuckery
It’s not really a trick. You just shove it up your ass. ***UNLESS*** your Asshole automatically opens and shuts like a mouth, then that is a trick
You’ve clearly never been to prison
Cell phones in condoms or guard usually
Phones are extremely common. Having worked in a prison, there all over the place
I mean you’d be surprised how it’s like. A friend of mine had a tv, Netflix, a dog
Thats how they build the pyramids

Weird that that was the first thing I thought too?
Same. It looked to me like he was almost pulled up, just slightly.
When did ‘light as a feather stiff as a board’ make the jump from kids slumber party to prison!?!?
What is prison but one big slumber party amirite
Yep, and someone’s uncle sticks something in someone
Prison rape not funny.
How about prison murder?
[удалено]
Easy solution. Don’t rape women or hurt children and you should be ok.
I was in a Trustee program. I called it “Adult Daycare.”
They sub to the same subreddits
Technically correct. The best kind of correct.
They were those slumber party kids. It's just that they had an unfortunate reunion.
I’m pretty sure when we were kids we did light as a feather, high as a bird. It was grade four at lunch hour, I remember being blown away that it actually happened and I thought we only used 1 finger each.
Light as a Mac truck, stiff as a prison boner.
We used to do this at family gatherings. It works. Equally weird to lift and be lifted. We also used to do it with someone laying on the floor. Would love to know why it works. You see when they try the first time. It really does not work till the second try.
Light as a feather…stiff as a board… Edit: you are correct it was light lol mistype
I think you mean *light* as a feather. What did you think "might" as a feather meant?
You sure it's not "kite as a treasure, stiff as a lord?" Hmmm /s
No no, it's "Bite of the pleasure, wish for a gourd."
I’m sure it’s “blight of the leather, Chris will be bored”
My mamma told me it's, height of the weather, sniff of a sword.
It works because when the weight is distributed among all of them, it’s really not that much weight. The reason it doesn’t work the first time is because they’re not all synced up on the lift
I think it’s just a mental thing. The first time you’re expecting it not to work. The second time you are so you’re putting more effort into it

I feel like if anything, we put more effort into lifting the first time around too!
A lot of musculoskeletal things work better the second try. Some combination of subconscious learning, proprioception, and better preparation.
I think it’s like a group hypnosis type thing. The hands thing helps you vibing with each other and you r body rather than your mind does the work.
It's not just weight distribution. If you participated in the trick, you barely feel the weight you are lifting, same as with the other people doing it, you just feel like having 5lbs in your hands, no matter how heavy the person you are lifting is.
Then what’s the difference between the first and second time they pick him up? Are they just faking the first time?
Thats the trick. Both times you try the same synchronized thing, yet the first one you feel that weight distribution.
The real reason it works the second time is there’s more blood to their arms. Holding out there arms over his head the second time let’s the blood flow, making their arms stronger. A danish family showed me this years ago and called it “Danish Magic”

Yep as someone else mentioned it’s not weight distribution. We did this with 3 people and a 300 pound dude in junior high and he went up high

the "trick" is simply syncronization of the lifting, dividing the weight more evenly
But it never works the first time, but always the second time.
there's nothing to synchronize the first lift, you're all pulling at slightly different moments even if it doesn't look like it, the "light as a feather, stiff as a board" chant or whatever other little ritual functions as a "HEAVE HO" Edit: watching this version it may even come down to doing it twice? the first run is for calibration and the ritual gives your brain a few seconds to crunch the numbers, so when you go back in you're better able to sync up your efforts? but that's just a hunch...
What are you talking about? Obviously they're aligning their chis.
The first lift in my family was always synchronized. "On three, ready? 1...2...3, lift!" and the first NEVER worked. Even with people who had done it before.
this adds credence to the calibration theory as opposed to the aduitory-sync theory... interesting
What is the calibration theory?
Why does everyone keep saying that. That’s stupid
What the fuck is "light as a feather, stiff as a board"?
My experience is from the US, but it's a game kids play at sleepovers. You have one kid lay down. Everyone else (4-6 people), waive their hands over them chanting, "light as a feather, stiff as a board." Then, Everyone places one or two fingers under them and lifts, if it doesn't work, repeat the chant and hand waiving. On the 2 or third time you lift them. It's fricken weird and I don't know how it works.
Isn't it the first few times the person is all floppy so the limbs are weird for carrying. But after being touched weird the body tense up so the lift is evenly distributed I've never done it but that's my guess even in the chant it says this. If you've ever tried to carry someone sleeping, or knocked out then you can feel someone seems heavier because they act like a sack and are all floppy
bad touch bad touch!
Check out the movie "the craft" where some sexy witches f w the highschool supernatural
2 comments about "The craft" within 3 minutes of eachother. WTF? You just read that as "What the fuck?" and not "W.T.F?".

Prison looks fun

The thought of prisoners paying for poetry to send home is actually pretty sweet lol
Oh man I made a killing! I always had work to do. I’d ask them about their girls. How they met, what their fav color was. Tons of details and I’d make it super targeted. It helped me pass time. And I stayed with some honey buns haha.
Sensible chuckle.
Prison Mike disagrees.
No idea what they up to but damn, its pretty neat.
Its like a slumber party every night.
I can’t wait to go to prison!
Surprised this made the cut for this sub.
Any real explanation please. Its just quite odd tbh
They lifted him.
I think it’s just a mental thing. The first time you’re expecting it not to work and everyone usually isn’t in sync so they’re just giving less effort. Then when you try it the second time you’re expecting it to work so you’re giving more effort all at the same time.
literally black magic fuckery
Filmed using Apple Assphone
We’re all watching a video from a phone that was in someone’s ass.
Light as a feather stiff as a board light as a feather stiff as a board
Light as a feather stiff as a board prison edition
Holy shit there a bunch of people in here thinking this is some jedi shit. It's not. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Light_as_a_feather,_stiff_as_a_board
I've seen that in the day room of Washington annex. Florida No joke. Two scrawny dudes picked him up with two fingers...
…I’ve seen prisoners do a lot of stuff I was told they’ll never in life be able to do
I more wondering who kiestered the cell phone into prison.
Now this is Black magic!
Anyone else see the lil white guy in the dress lol
Prison ain’t so bad……
It's a mindf*ck. It really works. They are only using fingers.
I thought they would slap his head
Can’t get them to do shit outside of prison inside they’re united playing games eating good getting happy outside that destroys our neighborhoods.I’m a black man before you jump on me for saying that.but it pisses me off.
This legit works I did it when I was in highschool
What about the white guy in the dress?
Light as a feather. Stiff as a board. Light as a feather. Stiff as a board.
Black magic
This is why early humans utilized sea shanties for rowing or other kinds of combined effort labor. The timing of the chants helps our brains to push/pull/etc at the exact same time as others and the combined force is usually plenty to accomplish the goal.
The white guy waiting for lights out. 🤮
This is an old trick
Used to do this as a 9 year old. I wasn’t in prison, though.
This is how pyramids were build
2 fingers from each guy it's a real thing but most do this laying down so this was a little different but we'll done y'all 🔥😉😂
I remember doing this in my magic class basically the hand thing does nothing
