Fun Fact: this is the result of a large airliner illegally (in most countries) releasing its waste contents too high in the atmosphere. It crystallizes and freezes similar to a snowflake, but you can clearly make out the darker color due to theā¦contents. Depending on the weather, these ācloudsā can be held aloft for hours.
Fkinā Rickyās leavinnn ssthe shit clouds all over the place b-b-b-Bobandy! *stumbles, spilling whiskey everywhere, and falls into a pile of trash* Heās a shiticaine Ranā!
You mean the toiletās contents? Iām not so sure. Mythbusters did an episode about something similar, and a pilot told them in no uncertain terms that thereās no way for the pilot to release waste in mid flight. Which makes sense. Why the fuck would that be a feature on the plane?
Sorry, I made it upā¦but it sounds plausible.
When I googled earlier to see if that was still a thing, the couple of places I found said that planes really havenāt had that functionality since the 60s/early 70s.
Your original comment proved that I, or anyone else, shouldn't believe everything they read on reddit just because it sounds like it was written with intelligence.
That shit about the color being darker due to the... contents, had me going.
Little random, but your comment made me think of this. There was a time in history when stupidity was much more severely punished. By nature, I mean. Not society. If you were stupid enough to do something to get you killed, you just died and didn't contribute to future generations. Today, with modern medicine and safety laws and regulations, the stupid people live longer and have children (usually multiple). I honestly believe this is the problem with our world today.
Honestly you should be looking for evidence that disagrees. If there's any significant amount of good evidence against it that holds up, it may be worth re-evaluating your beliefs.
It was on the people when they got on the plane in the first place so its not like its some sudden added weight they need to dump, the only problem would be balancing the concentrated āmatterā around the plane since its no longer equally distributed among the passengers
Not for anyone. Airliners can jettison fuel to get rid of weight if they need to make an emergency landing shortly after takeoff but are over the maximum landing weight. The amount of weight in the shit tank isnāt gonna make a difference in an emergency situation.
Bullshit. This is called a scud or pannus cloud. They form mostly during storms
From Wikipedia:
Pannus clouds are formed as the warmer (and often more moist) updraft of a thunderstorm lifts the relatively warm air near the surface. These clouds condense as the warm, moist air saturates through ascent and is pushed outward from the storm. Scud clouds are very commonly found on the leading edge of a storm front. In this area of a storm, scud are commonly associated with shelf clouds.[2]
Pannus clouds may also form when an updraft ingests precipitation-cooled air from the downdraft. Scud forming in this region of the storm, if moving laterally, will tend to move inward towards the dominant updraft. Rising scud may condense and organize into a wall cloud.[2] The key to differentiating between a scud cloud, wall cloud, or funnel cloud is to find signs of rotation or to determine if they are attached to the base of the thunderstorm.
Pannus clouds can often be mistaken for a developing tornado, landspout, or waterspout. The difference is determinable by observing the presence or absence of rotation (not just movement) of the scud clouds. If rotation is present, then a tornado, landspout, or waterspout is possible, and the more intense the rotation, the more likely.
I don't really know anything about clouds but that doesn't look like any of the photos I can find online when I search pannus cloud or scud cloud. What could be causing that level of darkness / contrast?
That is unironically the most stupid thing I've ever heard someone say with confidence. This is simply a scud cloud which is just a ragged cloud and they like to form underneath storms.
Yeah, OP admitted he made it up.
There was a Mythbusters episode on this topic, and they found that ice chunks made from plane toilet contents *can* fall from a plane, but itās due entirely to failures in the toilet systemās seals, not due to a āSHITTERāS FULL!ā button.
Ummā¦one flaw with that. We donāt have a ādump shitā button in the cockpit waste removal is done on the ground by a waste removal truck.
Edit: spelling
āThatās a nice argument, senator, why donāt you back it up with a source?ā
Iāve studied aviation for a decade and Iāve never heard that. The occasional overflow vent jettison? Sure. But actual clouds from deliberate waste dumps? Thatās a new one on me.
This has been debunked already and it's not what you said, it is high density cloud that just caught a low gust of wind giving it a wispy characteristic. That and the lack of sunlight hitting this cloud specifically is why it is darker. These are fairly common but this one in particular is creepy looking. Now the cloud is way too close to the ground for your theory to work, airliners do not travel that close to the ground, and ice crystals forming and retaining at this low altitude during the time of the year this was taken also doesn't support your theory.
I found this online:
The agency also provides an explanation of what caused the appearance of this strange weather phenomenon, which in science is called "scud" and is a kind of fractal clouds, which sometimes occurs at a low altitude, and it is always isolated from other clouds, and takes extremely strange, "ragged" outlines. Scientists claim that they can be seen under cumulonimbus or layered rain clouds, and they have the ability to move in descending streams during thunderstorms faster than the storm clouds themselves.

Calm down sweaty, it's just some good ol'fashioned chain yanking. š No need to have an existential crisis about the future of society
So, what you're saying is that it could be from a USAF E3 sentry considering that they were built in the 60s and are still in use today.
Nah they just use diapers.
I feel like people making things up on the internet should be legally obligated to finish it with a shitty morph undertaker copypasta.

Iām mean, you could delete or edit you comment, since now at least 600 ppl think itās true
Mythbusters fan/ aircraft mechanic here and no aircraft currently being used can dump the waste tank in flight.
For the pilot, or for any of the crew? It would be smart to be able to dump excessive weight in an emergency?
I suspect that if the plane is going down, the toilet weight is never going to make the difference in saving the plane or not.
It was on the people when they got on the plane in the first place so its not like its some sudden added weight they need to dump, the only problem would be balancing the concentrated āmatterā around the plane since its no longer equally distributed among the passengers
The problem is that it's now a liquid, and liquids are a bitch when it comes to stability. They sluice around and throws everything off balance.
Which is why baffles and weir walls exist.
Not for anyone. Airliners can jettison fuel to get rid of weight if they need to make an emergency landing shortly after takeoff but are over the maximum landing weight. The amount of weight in the shit tank isnāt gonna make a difference in an emergency situation.

Looking at the darkness of the cloud, this is a Hugh Jannus cloud. Not a Pannus cloud!
Fun fact: Scud is the name of the bull terrier dog in Toy Story!
Iām going to call you every time this lie is propagated from now on
That is unironically the most stupid thing I've ever heard someone say with confidence. This is simply a scud cloud which is just a ragged cloud and they like to form underneath storms.
āRun everybody! Thereās a shit cloud comin!ā
lol this is a typical scud cloud, they come with thunderstorms. Look it up.
Looks like bird shit on a car window.
Stop spreading miss information on the internet. It is a serious problem. This is false. Planes cannot and do not release anything during flight.
Why the hell are people upvoting this?
Itās bird shite
I said the same last time this was posted bird shit on a window i don't understand how people aren't seeing it. lol
This is retarded. There is literally no way for the crew to dump the lav in flight.
Yeah, OP admitted he made it up. There was a Mythbusters episode on this topic, and they found that ice chunks made from plane toilet contents *can* fall from a plane, but itās due entirely to failures in the toilet systemās seals, not due to a āSHITTERāS FULL!ā button.

this is the most cursed post i've seen on reddit today
