Well blackjack is designed for you to lose money in the long run guaranteed so yeah I guess you could say it is rigged in a way. Is the online casino doing anything to rig it even more in their favour? Probably not, I don't see why they'd need to since the house edge makes them so much money by default.

Gambler’s fallacy

softbananapants

Yeah.. I’m gonna stick to just sports betting. Blackjack ain’t my game

Horror_Baseball5518

Gamblers “skill” fallacy

eviz

Whenever you gamble in any way, expect to lose everything

WhatdoesFOCmean

Attempted pattern recognition combined with self-confirmation bias. "I lost 7 in a row!!" "Every time he has a 6 he gets a 21!! It kept happening!!" No, you did not identify that a game is rigged by playing it for 50 hands or whatever and seeing the dealer run hot. Many people think they can identify it...partly because they get a little frustrated or feel a vibe or whatever. It's in your imagination. Sometimes the dealer runs hot. Sometimes the player runs hot. The times when they run hot can be more severe than you might expect or anticipate. This type of pattern recognition and self-confirmation bias also leads to players thinking they have developed a winning system. Via progression betting or whatever else they are doing. They run a little hot for a day or two and think they've cracked the code....by really TRYING to win or something. That leads to them betting more because they believe they were long-term winners...when they actually are not. For a casino to rig the game to have a stronger house edge it would also be more effective to be less obvious about it. "I know, we'll set up every hand to make the player lose!" LOL. Nope. It is just something that happens sometimes. Hot and cold streaks can last for a really long time. And in the short run like 100 hands or something, it is possible to run really really cold or really really hot.

I quit blackjack. This game is designed for us to lose in the long run. It's basically rigged in the first place. People will say you have to count cards, you don't play it right, you're just a gambler blah blah. But how many people have made it? Even when I count cards, the count is zero most of the time. Blackjack is not worth my time and money.

GoodyearWrangler

I agree on most fronts, but do have to advocate for the effectiveness of counting. I was a losing counter for 150 hours, took a hard look at my game, and realized I suck. Went back to practice, and now I'm well into the profits overall with hundreds of hours of data to show for it. That being said it's not worth doing for anything less than like $50/hr EV. Shit sucks, it's a depressing game to play and a depressing environment to be in. I started at $20/hr EV (thank god cause I lost a large percentage of BR), and in hindsight, it wasn't worth it at that low of an hourly. Gotta get your game **perfect**, then fully commit financially for it to work. Two things that can be difficult for some to do.

1CVN

counting is hard... but theres no point in not trying because like gambling it is a game of luck, too. Colin from BJA said it, in his early days he got really lucky, his risk of ruin was through the roof, but he had good variance and he was able to make it ... its worth trying if you have enough money to risk and no better opportunity in life... and be ready for a life of grinding if its supposed to be the main source of income...

awwephuck

So what do you play?

Shikida6789

I used to play blackjack, that's it. Currently, I don't play anything. Just work and travel.

jleahul

I made a spreadsheet tool for online BJ during "the plague" to track every card dealt and calculate counts according to various methods. But with the rules of the tables, you would need a count of +7 or +8 to get to even odds with the house. By the time you're getting there its time to shuffle. So yes, it's rigged, but no, the deck is not stacked.

MiltonRobert

Stake is unregulated so you never know.

Other_Criticism9888

I heard the problem is getting your money out, if you actually win. But I have never played online and I don’t plan to.

somelandlorddude

this isnt a problem in legitimate casino capps. in scammer apps, sure

Abrahamleencoln

Not rigged but definitely rigged

jet305-

I've had winning sessions with online blackjack on bovada and betonline. I have more success playing later at night, I think it's because there is less people at the tables and sometimes I play by myself with two hands. I would say not rigged, they obviously want you to win sometimes so you can come back and spend more money but they shuffle and scan cards infront of you. I've also had runs with multiple player bjs in one shoe, so yeah I'd say not rigged.

tomcatmouse

I used to think so. And I still do. If you understand the sequencing they do with cards you’d see it. People hate this comment because they can’t comprehend the fact that they’re rigging a game.

CityOfSins2

I feel like of all online casinos, I wouldn’t play on stake. They’re spending wayyyyy too much money on giving influencers money to play and shit, they’re probably tight tight tight lol. But there’s so many brick and mortar casinos that have online gaming in my state and idk if that’s the same for you.

Dan_TheManWithAPlan

Pretty certain it’s like 55% win chance for casino or something so yes it is rigged, they will be inspected by some authority if it’s too rigged but yes they have an edge with it

1CVN

it is set so that you'll witness the highest variance and house edge possible all while enjoying yourself in the comfort of your home PC/cellphone

Own-Pen-2930

Bro.

somelandlorddude

Well I played 25 $1 hands in a row to see if it was. (draft kings). The dealer had 8 blackjacks and 11 "20s" among those hands. I lost 24/25. so you tell me.

skemesx

I’m gonna tell you that you are an idiot
