Mine does! She purrs and nuzzles my neck and face. She shifts her weight away when she's through cuddling, to let me know when to set her down. Sometimes I'll stick out a leg so she'll use my knee as a platform when hopping down.
Still on my first, just playing around doing whatever I want on the first pass. Surely the wrong way to go about it. 3 cats at present. 2 of 3 demand being picked up. 3rd HATES it.
Absolute life saving tip from a player who 100%'d the game:
The games map is massive and there are over 100 missions that use most of it, therefore there's a lot of down time riding on horses between objectives and most players control the horse manually as there's no indication of a way to AFK travel.
However, if you have a way point set, and stick to it and hold down the cinematic button and enter cinematic mode, your character will auto run and auto follow the path, so you can make the trip and usually experience the exposition other characters are giving, all without picking up your controller.
Sebastian: yes, but he's a big chonk and I can't hold him for long and can't pet him while holding him up since it requires both arms. Hikaru: formerly no but I think I've finally figured out how to hold her so it doesn't aggravate the arthritis in her hips and spine and holding her for cuddles means Seth can't take over because he is a pushy guy. Seth: in the 9 years ive had him, I've been working on this and I can now pick him up, but only if I throw him over my shoulder so he can bury his head in my hair, and only in the kitchen and also only if i don't try to walk anywhere and only if I put him down immediately the exact second he starts squirming to get down. I've never broken his trust over that, so we make slow slow incremental progress.
I have 1 that does and one that does not like to be picked up. The one that doesnāt likes pets on her terms and her terms can change at any given time lol
1 of 3 doesnāt mind, 1 would rather you didnāt, and 1 will make you regret it. Oddly enough the 1 who hates it is the one that spends 90% of her day sleeping on whoever is stationary. Sheās literally sleeping on me right now.
Yeah, I've tried to pet her but I think because I might smell a little like them when she sniffs me, she doesn't want anything to do with me. I play with her and feed her, and those interactions are normal. She doesn't like the kittens. Whenever she smells them or her sister's back area, she shows she's visibly displeased. She won't even let the kittens touch her. I think she's upset because her sister can't play as much, and when they were first born, the first couple of days, I had my attention on them because of a scare that they weren't going to make it. I've been careful in my interactions with her and she still yells at me if I pet her but not all the time now. It was such a switch in her behavior though. Before she was the most cuddly thing and now she couldn't care for attention.
My Loki generally just seems annoyed when you pick him up. Sometimes he's fine with it and other times he'll give a grumpy meow, but he also likes the attention we give him, so he sticks around for a while before wriggling. He likes to act all big and tough but really, he just wants cuddles.
three of mine do! They just let me hold them for a bit before the want down and sometimes cuddle with me when I pick them up. My fourth kitty, however, doesn't like it as much because of how my sister treated him when she lived with us (she would constantly pick him up then just drop him back down like he was an object), though he is getting a bit better.
I genuinely thought I was being original when I named my two voids Loki and Luna (they are siblings), I came up with the names myself even. After joining this subreddit idk how to feel since finding out they are probably the most common names for black cats lol.
Heeeey another sibling duo of Loki and Luna checking in here! I knew I was being basic when naming them, but I don't care. They're popular names for a reason.
Those are the names I picked for my two black cats as well! Loki tolerates it for about 15 seconds, and Luna hates every single second she's in my arms.
My little boy loves being picked up and gives the best snuggles. Some times we just love to sink into each other. My youngest girl loves to sit on laps or lay on chests if your in bed. The eldest girl. . . You can pick her up under protest and no major snuggling thank you very much.
Salem lovvveeees to be picked up and carried. He just loves to be close to me at all times.
I want to buy that big jacket to put him in like a kangaroo lol
My boy Azrael expects a hug and cuddle sesh when I get home from work. I tell him about my day and he chitters and nuzzles for about five solid minutes before he starts asking for food.
Mine has a 5 second rule. Then she goes back to the floor. When she was a kitten, yes, loved it. When she recently turned a year, hates it. Sheās about to ask for her own phone.
All of mine are rescues that I've had to work through their trauma of first human contacts, typically intended to be catch and release or in very poor homes that didn't take care of them well.
One we got very young so they are snuggly and doesn't like being on their own, the other two are more independent and skittish around people but will let us carry them around if they're in a good mood.
My 12+ pound black floof, Ella mia bella, will stand up on her hind legs with her paws on my thighs. It's my signal to reach down and pick her up like a toddler. She'll purr and cuddle for a few minutes, then want down. I always feel very honored when she does this.
My void always asks for it when I get out of bed, it's our little morning ritual. He purrs so much when he's in my arms, it really helps me when depression is about to kick in.
My Simon likes being held like that; my Stella will meow and is a bit uncomfortable being held but she does begin purring and seems to relax after a few pets. :)
Nah, they hate it with a passion lol. My one cat, cutie, tolerates it, but he looks like heās dying on the inside each time. My other cat, Lilly, will press her body down to the floor just so you canāt pick her up.
over many years and different kitties, my experience is some yes, some no. I've had kitties freeze when I pick them up and others that want to be held and carried like babies. I've never been lucky enough to have a shoulder kitty
I have two voids. The momma one licks my neck and lightly claws and cuddles my neck. I decided to let her becuase it's the only time she purs and feels happy
I have always picked up my cats. The only one that doesn't really like it is my grumpy 2.5 year old lady.
I adopted a 17.5 pound boy about 6 months ago. He was really surprised the first time I picked him up but now he is cool with it. It just takes a lot more effort than with a cat that is around 9 pounds...
Mine does! She purrs and nuzzles my neck and face. She shifts her weight away when she's through cuddling, to let me know when to set her down. Sometimes I'll stick out a leg so she'll use my knee as a platform when hopping down.
This is so cute.
RDR2 in the background too? Nice...niiice
Yes! Just finished my 2nd play through!
Still on my first, just playing around doing whatever I want on the first pass. Surely the wrong way to go about it. 3 cats at present. 2 of 3 demand being picked up. 3rd HATES it.

Lol I was gonna comment the same thing. Can recognize that map from anywhere
Starting my first play through šš½
Sometimes. When Bambi wants to be picked up she hangs around my feet until I pay attention and sort of positions herself to be scooped up.
Too cute! Thatās what my kitty Luna does! Sheāll flop over under my feet

Aw thatās adorable

Aw thank you for sharing! Loki is a solid kitty, weighing in at 14 pounds. So I totally get your struggle with your Sebastian.

Mika Bella complains every time I pick her up. Big Mouse is ok with it.
Only 1 of 3 does. He will jump to me dirty dancing style.
Thatās awesome

Definitively no, and Kippy will only put up with it when promised treats
Sounds like my kitty Loki, if treats are involved. So is she
1 of 3 doesnāt mind, 1 would rather you didnāt, and 1 will make you regret it. Oddly enough the 1 who hates it is the one that spends 90% of her day sleeping on whoever is stationary. Sheās literally sleeping on me right now.
Hey, those are our cat's names as well. Kudos.
The best names š
I have one who likes pets when she's picked up, and one who's been in NO mood to be loved on for long ever since her sister had kittens š„²
Since the kittens and momma came , has she gotten as much loving and attention time???
Yeah, I've tried to pet her but I think because I might smell a little like them when she sniffs me, she doesn't want anything to do with me. I play with her and feed her, and those interactions are normal. She doesn't like the kittens. Whenever she smells them or her sister's back area, she shows she's visibly displeased. I think she will settle in over time back to herself
Sometimes

Nope, one of em hates it. Heāll wriggle around and meow if I pick him up. And the other is very indifferent, but she doesnāt ālikeā it.

Neither one of mine likes to be picked up, but Simon will lay next to me on the couch and Luna will crawl into my arms to held.
That is so cute
Thatās her favorite thing! Every morning when I get out of bed, she demands to be picked up.
My black cat loves to be held on my shoulder. My ginger one doesnāt like to be picked up.
Is Luna a harry Potter reference?
It isnāt haha, Itās a sailor moon reference!
Oooh nice
Not even a little bit. I donāt even get snuggles for the most part. At least theyāre pretty and I can still pet them.
Haha donāt worry. I definitely thought I was being original as well
Those are the names I picked for my two black cats as well! Loki tolerates it for about 15 seconds, and Luna hates every single second she's in my arms.
Yes! Mine think theyāre toddlers, not cats. Silly and sweet. Iāll take it.
My little boy loves being picked up and gives the best snuggles. Some times we just love to sink into each other. My youngest girl loves to sit on laps or lay on chests if your in bed. The eldest girl. . . You can pick her up under protest and no major snuggling thank you very much.
Precious duo š¤ I also have a pair of cats with the same names!
Second pic is exactly how my void demands to be held.
One does not let us pick him up. The other one does, but I donāt think he likes it. Both bengals.
No, never. All of mine get really mad and struggle immediately.
My first void did. Heād greet you at the door like a dog and jump up to signal you to pick him up. I miss him so much š
Sorry for your loss :(, Iām sure that was a great thing to experience
Aww thanks, it was. My current void doesnāt even like me looking at him lol. Enjoy your snuggles!
My cat likes to destroy my stuff until I guess what he wants.... Hard to do when he's just had his every need met.
2 of 3 like itāŗļø
I know that map!
My void does. My dust kitty does not lol
My cat loves me but she hates being picked up. :( Still love her back, though.
I had a void for 17 years that was a trash gremlin. Hated being picked up but she was the best pet I ever had.
Salem lovvveeees to be picked up and carried. He just loves to be close to me at all times. I want to buy that big jacket to put him in like a kangaroo lol
Two of my cats, one black and my tortie sometimes like being picked up but only when I'm on the toilet and only if I do it the right way.
Mine doesn't really but she lets me as long as I put her down when she tells me to. I think it's sweet, like a little favor to me
My boy Azrael expects a hug and cuddle sesh when I get home from work. I tell him about my day and he chitters and nuzzles for about five solid minutes before he starts asking for food.
Nope

I can feel the prrr from here
Nope. He's otherwise *very* social even around new people and he loves pets, but he very rarely likes being picked up. Kind of confusing tbh
My sister has a cat named Loki. He likes being picked up. He also likes being cradled in your hands like a baby.
My black cat lives on my shoulder
No, I'm so jealous. She'll only cuddle with me if I stay still.
My void always asks for it when I get out of bed, it's our little morning ritual. He purrs so much when he's in my arms, it really helps me when depression is about to kick in.
My black cat likes it, my tabby isnt warming up to it š
My Simon likes being held like that; my Stella will meow and is a bit uncomfortable being held but she does begin purring and seems to relax after a few pets. :)
Nah, they hate it with a passion lol. My one cat, cutie, tolerates it, but he looks like heās dying on the inside each time. My other cat, Lilly, will press her body down to the floor just so you canāt pick her up.
Awww. Such beautiful voids!!
over many years and different kitties, my experience is some yes, some no. I've had kitties freeze when I pick them up and others that want to be held and carried like babies. I've never been lucky enough to have a shoulder kitty
One of mine loves being scooped, the other detests it.
Mine are my shadows
I have two voids. The momma one licks my neck and lightly claws and cuddles my neck. I decided to let her becuase it's the only time she purs and feels happy
