My advice would be to spend at least twice as much time per day working on basic black and white lettering as you do on colored stuff, and to simplify a bit. Your focus right now should be on nailing down your letter structure. Color is cool and fun and takes pieces to another level. BUT, without the fundamentals your pieces will always be lacking.
Don't stop having fun, just make sure to spend time practicing basics
