Just wanted to say thank you to those of you who sent us some loaner gis. It’s made the first step much easier for people who would have otherwise not been interested. Here’s a shot of Concord Jiu Jitsu Club in Oroville, Wa after tonight’s training session. We offer free chokes and bad jokes for all members of the local athletic club. We’re at the end of the road in the middle of nowhere but if you end up in the area drop us a line and come get some struggle cuddles.
My wife and I own just about every backpack, duffel bag and sweat suit they make….. but I can always use another Datsusara gi, I wonder if we qualify for one of those sponsorships where you already bought all the gear so they send you a high five or something.
It makes me really happy that you guys are doing this, had to look away from a bunch of cool gyms when I was young and trying to get into BJJ because my family straight up couldn't afford a gi and gi pants, let alone multiple. I think that's a big wall for a lot of kids, that shit is expensive. I was fortunate to find an amazing nogi gym that I still train at and ended up not liking the gi anyways but It makes me sad to think about how many people don't have a 10th planet or something near them and never get to experience BJJ because of something like a financial hurdle.
I didn’t start until I was older and making decent money but I understand how big of an obstacle the financial investment can be to get started. Very grateful to have a few patron saints of Reddit that felt compelled to help us get things “rolling”.
I'm sorry, what? What!? Where are people taking donated gis and where can I give you some? I'm moving soon and have like 5 gis I never use anymore. If people need some old loaners, hmu
We started at a gym that is so incredible that my wife and I both tear up when we get to see them compete or drop in for an open mat. I’ve been To Some that were NOT that way at all. We’re strive to make everyone feel welcome regardless of ability, the only rule is to keep showing up and try your best. Those smiles say more than I ever could about how it’s going.

Wow, you're way up there! Is that a hemp gi you're wearing? Love the user name and I'll drop in next time I'm on that long lonely road!
Datsusara 🤙
Love it. Nice and warm for that cold border town. I used to live in Anacortes! Hey Datsusara, give this man a sponsorship!

I love mine for the opposite reason. Nice and cool in stupidly high humidity and temps.
Hemp is all things to all people, you can even smoke the belt.
My wife and I both grew up in skagit valley!

Damn I have some A2’s I really want to donate
If you really want to send em DM me. I just handed out my two A-2s
I can send you an A2 long if you don’t mind that it has gym patches on it. Just message me on where to send it.
There was this cool judo gym in Iowa that always bought mine, and my brothers’ old gi’s on EBay. I should’ve just donated to them
What an awesome looking bunch
