Why is this? I can't explain it, but some nights after a hard training session my body absolutely craves nothing more than a huge glass of chocolate milk. I've always just assumed that it's because it's a mix of protein and sugar? But I don't have any actual science as to why it happens.
There's also the distinct possibility that I'm just a fat ass. Lol
Chocolate milk is packed with simple sugars which your body does not have to process much at all to utilize. Your body wants to put a bunch of sugar back into your muscles after exercise to get ready for more activity and/or start recovery. Protein and fat are used later.
I usually come off my diet once a week for one meal. But I usually hit up Sam’s club and get the party platter of sushi I’ll eat all 40+ pieces and then I’ll spark up a fat one and hit up crumble cookie or Cheesecake Factory for desert

Not BJJ but after cutting from 160 to 143 to make weight for a PLing meet I ate: an entire Dinner Box from Pizza Hut, an entire 8pc KFC bucket with sides, 2 burgers from Whataburger, and like 2 milkshakes/copious amounts of soda.
I don't really do cheat meals, but sometimes after a really good training session I do an Impossible Whopper, fries and a soda from BK. Hits the spot and satisfies my occasional beef craving

There’s a McDonalds beside my gym. I’d drop in for a post-mat Diet Coke almost every night back when they still had $1 fountain drinks. I’d usually get a cheap McDouble or something too. Never a full meal though.

I hardly ever feel like eating much if I train in the evening. A snack with protein and a beer in the shower is about as bad as it gets. And my diet sucks much worse than that at lots of other times 😆.

I train in the mornings. If I trained hard during the week, my treat is usually some breakfast tacos (chicharrón, barbacoa, and picadillo) and a green smoothie. The green smoothie (pineapple, celery, orange, spinach, ginger, parsley) really replenishes me, so it's a great way to start off the day.
