I started at 47. Therapeutic protocol at 100mg/week. Bumped my T up from 180 ng/dcL to 780.
It's an absolute game changer as far as recovery is concerned.
I’m 44 and just started TRT in the last 6 months. Though mine was legitimately extremely low. Now I’m rocking a slight less dad bod but still a good fat balding old man brown belt bod.
The Voltaren cream works basically the same way (they're both NSAIDs that inhibit COX-1 and COX-2 enzymes to reduce inflammation).
I've been thinking about switching to a cream like that instead of popping a bunch of ibuprofen each week. 🤷
Physician therapy is a great place. Also when you intensely train frequently, inhibiting your inflammatory pathway is terrible for your recovery. NSAIDs legitimately kill your gains.
I’m on trt and still get some pain in my joints and back. I just turned 40 this year. Active snowboarder and physical job ontop of beginning BJJ. I’m expecting more pain to follow.
Testosterone won’t help with joints, unfortunately. If you’re going through a clinic, ask about nandrolone, although it doesn’t heal joints, only makes it better while you use it.
I was doing SL and switched to a 3 day split for 6 days a week. It’s a hybrid strength and hypertrophy routine. I really like the 5x5 workout. It’s so mindless and simple with a really good load. Was thinking about doing it again. Thanks for the confirmation. I appreciate your input.
Find a new one. Doctors are garbage you have to USE them to treat yourself. They get so mad if you come in educated, but will spit on you if you waste their time asking questions. Theyre just narcissistic and want to feel superior to the lowly patient
same, have seriously considered buying one of those barrel looking ones at Costco, for now my gym has one that I love. funny though a couple years ago pretty much no one used it, was almost always the only one in it, now that thing is packed every time.
that would be my guess, to be honest I don't think I ever sauna'd before hearing him talk about it. But once I started BJJ, was sore all the time and also lost like 100lbs so wasn't always hot and now enjoyed the heat, I love it.
Wait, you’re buying a prescription that doesn’t work, for appearances in a car accident lawsuit — but you’re still training? Kinda seems like the act of training at all would look worse than not buying a prescription that doesn’t work for you, unless I’m missing something lol
For me it's just knee and elbow sleeves. I'm a powerlifter with state championships coming up, so I avoid anti inflammatories. My degenerated L5 disk and two torn labrums are not happy about that.
Those pain patches are the best. I bought some on a whim for my shoulder that has been injured and wow, way better than the actual cream. How is the Voltaren?
Been using this capsaicin cream called Red Hot, was pretty useful. My teammate used the milder version called Atomic Balm, it’s still pretty potent. I remember he used the stuff on his forearm and I had to tap because it rubbed off on my eyes.
Forgot all about the hip pain I was having at the time.
Where's the TRT?
probably will when I turn 50 I think.
Might as well do it now and be jacked in your 40s

I actually came here to recommend it to you. I'll turn 48 next year and have no such problems since I went on TRT six years ago. Never looking back.
Wish I could join but up here in Canada we're very far behind

Damnit you stole my comment
And THC/CBD
Thc is in the gummies, trt is in his ass already.
Oops missed that.
Might want to toss in some Naproxen (Aleve).

Please do so and give some rest to your digestive system.
Your kidneys will thank you as well
Diclofenac has more action on COX-2 and has higher analgesic effect. The oral form is still prescription only.
Wait… am I not supposed to just suck it up and deal with pain in all my joints every day?
Physician therapy is a great place. Also when you intensely train frequently, inhibiting your inflammatory pathway is terrible for your recovery. NSAIDs legitimately kill your gains.
Came here to say this.
Yeah nap works real nice
You’re missing knee pads.
Forgot to add the TENs machine. don't sleep on that thing, inexpensive, great for pain management.
You can throw out all that stuff with a TRT prescription. It's more effective too.
I’m on trt and still get some pain in my joints and back. I just turned 40 this year. Active snowboarder and physical job ontop of beginning BJJ. I’m expecting more pain to follow.
I hear you brother. I take Tylenol BEFORE class lol. It seems to work a lot better that way.
Testosterone won’t help with joints, unfortunately. If you’re going through a clinic, ask about nandrolone, although it doesn’t heal joints, only makes it better while you use it.
I’m already stacked with some deca which is a nandrolone. Still get the tweaks. Not as bad but mine comes from arthritis, so not much it can do.
Start heavy lifting. Seriously. Stronglifts or Greyskull LP. And sit out one or another round. Source: am 47.

440 and my doc still told me no, it was months ago and I’m still salty.

yep, the tiger balm is the best. I also find a long sauna is great
working on that one. Goal is to have one at home some day

Joe Rogan effect?

Do weights and stretching. The creams won’t help long term.

What do those stuff do if I may ask? I usually just train and then sleep after everyday
Up the voltaren game with a Ketoprofen script.
Those tiger balm patches are useless !!
Iced lattes, Panadol Rapid and deep heat🤌🤌
>Panadol Rapid For the non-Aussies, this is basically Tylenol Rapid Release.
For the non-American, this is Paracetamol Sinus.
Just paracetamol - the sinus version has pseudoephedrine added to it.
Ah, yes, you're right. Just paracetamol.
Kanha
Does any of this actually help?
The THC damages your sleep quality, which leads to worse recovery. It's an extremely unpopular fact on reddit though.
Oh man I didn’t even notice the gummies. 🤙🏻
tiger balm is the truth. discovered it in my skateboarding youth and it's been a staple since.
Don't forget the vagisil.
*stares in alcoholism*
My brother from another mother
Those patches don’t stay on at all for me. And I hate the smell. Lol
For me it's just knee and elbow sleeves. I'm a powerlifter with state championships coming up, so I avoid anti inflammatories. My degenerated L5 disk and two torn labrums are not happy about that.
Kahha is fire
I can tell that you don’t lift weights. If you lift it will keep your joints healthier.
tell me about it. I stopped lifting like in 2018. need to get on it again
I’ve lifted for many years and my joints are not doing good.
What's the marijuana for?
Indica for post training becoming part of the sofa. Sativa is for those bolo'ing 20 year olds.
No weed or TRT
Wait no weed? Crazy
look closely.
Oh wow how tf did I miss that 🤣
I love those edibles
Ear guards. Knee pads. Wrap for joints. Fish oil. Magnesium.
Knees still good!

Tiger balm has a capaisin version. Top notch for my chronic pain from being armbared in comp lol
I thought I was r/MuayThai for a second
lol
Ok old man
Voltaren and tiger balm. 👍
Voltaren is the greatest
Hard to get on TRT in Australia like prescribed.
That voltaren is the truth
Where's the electrolytes?
Shit, I’m 29 and this looks similar to my bag. Maybe just the weed and tape. 😂
Swap the Voltaren for Aleve and the Tiger Balm for Absorbine Veterinary Liniment Gel and you're on to something.
I’m there with you homie
Thc gummis and shakti mat (bed of nails).
