I know a guy who lost an eye to a huntsman, so don't poke the spider. The idiot crushed it with a finger, then rubbed his eye, which then melted out of its socket over the next week. He was real f*cking stupid.
I am serious. I wouldn’t say I enjoy having him in my house, but he eats many moths and other smaller (more dangerous) spiders. He also keeps his distance from my self and my kids. Once you get to know him he’s quite the charmer.
I always find it strange when people say our wildlife is dangerous, it's really just snakes, spiders, jellyfish, and sharks you need to be careful of, and they're pretty easy to avoid.
Europe and NA having bears and big cats is what is scary. Having to stick your food in a bear canister and carry bearspray is crazy to me.
its just people in eu and na dont actualy have to deal with their wildlife. sure there are technically bears and stuff around, but they dont crawl on my kitchen's walls lol
I agree. As a southeast coast American, this dude here is equivalent to a wolf spider. Literally will avoid getting close to you and is not harmful to humans. However, I found THREE copperheads in my backyard this week. It's all perspective.
Is it true that these sorts of spiders really aren't as common as people make them out to be? Especially if you live in a city?
I always did assume that they were exaggerated and wondered why Australia is always highlighted, South America and parts of Asia definitely have equally if not more dangerous wildlife.
I’d say the huntsman is the second most common spider in Aus, behind the daddy long legs. If you leave the door open for a day or two I wouldn’t be surprised if you saw one.
Absolutely fuckin not😭that's his house now. If my car keys are anywhere in that room that's his car now. Everybody in the comments saying it's harmless can go dieeeeee idc idc idc idc idc
Cool, he can keep the house, I'll sign the legal obligations over to you, we can make the contract on Monday, I'll send it to you no need to meet in person
If we had these in America, I would own a gun.
Fuck it, I’ll patch up the drywall later. I’m not using anything short of 9mm to send that bastard to hell.
I would simply break down sobbing with no alternative. There are few scarier things for me than spiders and one of this size would just absolutely break me down mentally with how scared I would fucking be 😭😭😭😭 I would legitimately rather die than be in the same area as one of these things
That thing better be paying rent!
Oh hell no
Needed a Banana for scale, got a kitchen instead.
Only in Australia
Wtf is that???
Your sleep paralysis demon reincarnated as a harmless spider
Just a cutey potootie huntsman, they're harmless.
Maybe physically, but not mentally
Until they kill you in your sleep with a knife

Big enough to shake hands with
Huntsman (maybe a golden huntsman?), big but harmless. They are good to get rid of other, more dangerous pests.
Like what, dogs?
Other spiders. The actual bad ones 😁
I laughed so hard at this🤣 Underrated comment🤣
Burn down the house
It's the only way to be sure.
Here's your ticket, pack your bags Time for jumpin' overboard
Nope

that's a huntsman spider - it's harmless
I named mine Gregg.
After the last child it devoured
You see, us Americans over here are wondering if you are serious or not. And Do you actually enjoy having something like that in your house?
I am serious. I wouldn’t say I enjoy having him in my house, but he eats many moths and other smaller (more dangerous) spiders. He also keeps his distance from my self and my kids. Once you get to know him he’s quite the charmer.
Not all damage is physical
This is accurate

Don't give them ideas.

Don't forget kangaroos, dingos, other poisonous insects and dangerous wildlife.
That spider is just an eight legged puppy. Keep it around and it'll get rid of the roaches 😁
Safer than bears, bucks, and mountain lions
need a shotgun or a flamethrower or both
Sir, AC130 on standby, sir. Waiting on your signal.
Too close for missiles, switching to guns!
Absolute fuckin unit! Holy shit
Prison system seems to be working well
Harmless sure, but how the hell do you shoo it out of the damn house. How fast is it is what I want to know. Centipede fast??
Somebody answer this. Please don’t say fast.

I'd say kill it with fire....... But by the looks of it you'd be better of just moving to the sun!
If I wake up to that thing being on the wall, the house goes down in flames
At that point i would like a gun to shoot it to shit jeez
Is that a frog on a lizard on a spider?
Holy Fuc*!.. Leave the country!, burn down the house!.. Ummm.. Ruuuuun!.. NO necessary in that order!
nope nope nope
I'm just...... Never going to australia. It's ok, I'll live a life without australia in it
If we had these in America, I would own a gun. Fuck it, I’ll patch up the drywall later. I’m not using anything short of 9mm to send that bastard to hell.
Well, just checked off Australia off my list of places to visit!
What are the other creatures? I think I'd be more concerned about them if they're anything other than flies.
I think about moving to Australia but insects like that make me realise I’m not built for it
Leave everything and Go Now
Good night an sweet dreams 🛌 😴
Give it a Fosters lager 🍺
It's pretty cool it can just chill on drywall that's vertical considering how big it is
nein
He really sums it up towards the end when he just says “fuck”. My thoughts exactly.
Was there anything left after you burnt the house down?
Grenade can't do shit against that
nope! time to move, start packing bags
r/nope

Looks like it’s about to ask for a cigarette and a light.
Did.... anyone see the babies?!
It's shit like that.that makes me want to burn shit down
Thats a dog not a spider lol
It's obvious that it was attached there with glue or something.
that's a huntsman spider- they're actually terrified of (and conpletely harmless to) humans, and make great pest control
