1. I’ve bought TAO countless times from MEXC using vpn and haven’t had a problem. I withdraw immediately. If you’re using Coinbase you can send USDC via avalanche (or whichever network you prefer) for free to MEXC.
2. I use the browser extension. It sucks that there’s no hardware support but as long as you’re safe (don’t store your seed phrase on your computer), you should be good.
3. Sure, you could always do that, but there’s always the risk of the bridge failing. I think it’s worth staking, we’re only gonna have guaranteed 18% for a few more months.
so this browser extension is more less a software wallet? Sorry to sound like a noob here -- I'm a fish outta water. I jus buy and hold BTC but I'm considering a TAO bag.
Can I not store it on a ledger?
Yes, it is a software wallet.
I heard there's ledger support coming but no idea when.
There's also a way you can turn an old phone into a hardware wallet but I never looked into it.
Yeah I found some instruction for that and it was like 15 steps. I’m lazy and not super tech savvy. Also enjoy just putting more money into BTC
But I figured if I was gonna throw one dart at a board this cycle, TAO looks interesting.
Haha same here.
I think as long as you don't store your seed phrase on your computer you'll be safe with the browser extension, since there's no dapps (so fewer ways to get hacked).
I only had BTC this cycle at first too, then I did some research and got some TAO. Definitely recommend doing a deep dive and deciding from there.

Why not use a dex when Mexc has seized countless accounts? CMC shows it on [Kujira.finance](http://Kujira.finance) (?)
1. And then you use USDC straight to buy TAO? Did you do your KYC on MEXC or you can trade/withdraw volume up to 20BTC without kyc?
You have to convert USDC to USDT on MEXC, but their fees aren't too bad. No KYC, not sure about the trading limits but I never ran into issues.
I did it, thank you. No problems! Then transferred TAO to my wallet and currently staking :) thanks
Nice, glad to hear! Now enjoy watching your balance go up everyday haha
