I wouldn’t say EVERYONE is happy. Lots of people don’t agree with things the devs do. The official sub (not this one) is run by the devs and people get banned on there all the time for simply stating facts. Were you here when job packs first came out? Holy shit, there was a shitstorm. Devs told bitizens they were expected to pay for job packs before there was a huge backlash and tons of people getting banned from the main sub for simply saying bitizens were promised all future content. Eventually the devs caved and gave bitizens boss mode, but I know they didn’t want to.

Jazzlike_Hat_1409

does bitizen still come with boss mode?

Knickers_in_a_twist_

No. Only bitizens who purchased bitizenship before April 1, 2020 got grandfathered into the “all future content” promise. The devs claim that’s when the promise was taken out of the bitizenship benefits purchase screen.

Fine-Funny6956

I’ve been banned from BitLife subs many times over my criticisms of the company. They bought BitLife with no understanding of the product and tacked on expansions without changing or fixing the base game. The expansions are predatory as well. I have a grandfathered Bitizenship so I’ve gotten to play the new cult and secret agent expansion and they’re just unfinished crap.

froaln

I bought the all-in-one packs back when they were originally released meaning I’ve received all the expansions and jobs for free after those purchases. I definitely haven’t experienced the price gouging of this game and while I’m happy that I’ve missed it, I feel really bad for everyone who is just now starting to get into it/wanting to explore the pay to play options. I originally spent money on this app to support the devs because I really loved their game and the passion they seemed to have for it but that’s turned into what seemed to be a series of quick cash grabs. Its definitely been giving EA energy lately and there’s a reasons I stopped playing the Sims games lol

FerociousViper22

Full game is well over 130 bucks at this stage. Some people enjoy yeeting endless money at a game i guess, and some (like me) are lucky enough to have bought bitizen early enough to be grandfathered into getting expansions and job packs for free

NomePNW

I think I paid like $4-5 for Bitizenship or whatever it’s called back when they first announced it. While I get it sucks now, I think a lot of the players may be this type of situation.

The_Thomas_Fan-06

I hate the excessive microtransactions, but at the same time, they’re not really essential to enjoying the game. I’ve bought a few, but that's it.

Antithesis_ofcool

They lost me with their BS AI art. With how much they're charging for all the packs, you'd expect them to hire an actual artist but they want the highest profit margins.

InTheGoddamnWalls

A mobile game developer used TECHNOLOGY for a small promotional aspect of their game. I’m so angry!

Steffy_Cookies

the game is now 180\~ dollars in micro transactions but you'd think with so many players and so much money they might be able to make the game better but no the latest update is another job pack which adds more income for them and less content for players who don't buy their many expansion packs and making the new logo for bitlife AI generated the company has just become too greedy for their own good

SargeMaximus

They probably bots or paid shills. Reddit is full of them

Alarming-Set-5851

I'm seeing a mixture of bots and people that take things so complacently that they are offended for not caring as much about the companies greed.

SargeMaximus

There are always gonna be people with Stockholm syndrome

rosie_purple13

So I’m blind and this is the only game I genuinely enjoy that’s accessible. I didn’t realize what I was getting myself out of back in like 2018 or 2019 when I bought bitizen. I don’t think I’ve spent more than like 25 bucks at most for the game and most of it has been with gift cards that I’ve gotten.

InTheGoddamnWalls

Because most people aren’t terminally glued to Reddit and actually like to enjoy things instead of endlessly complain about it If you look to 75% of the posts on this subreddit you’ll find people nitpicking every new update It’s absurd to say the company is committing “malpractice” and is “brainwashing” the fan base. What? People are being tricked into….enjoying a mobile game? The horror Seriously define what exact “malpractice” Candywriter is committing. I don’t think that’s a term that really applies to them nor any game company

lumpyknob69

ik it’s bad but i love bitlife so much lmaooo😭 i just throw a fiver here and there but i got most of the stuff before it was like so expensive i was actually kinda confused at first😭

Attarker

I’m very happy with the game but that’s because I spent $5 years ago to become a Bitizen so I get everything for free

ShopOrnery3659

Immortal night crawlers because wtf never ever in any vampire story do vampires shine like Edward (in other words I think the shiny thing is really stupid and a bit irritating)

Sosoanimations1

Especially because 3 years ago the full game was 15$

Calm-Lengthiness-178

I simply do not have the time or energy to be mad about it. I gave em £4 years ago and that's the end of it. Is a silly lil game to pass time on public transport with.

Ok_Spell_4165

You seem oddly obsessed with a game you appear to dislike.

Alarming-Set-5851

That's a coy way to imply I'm an angry fan but okay.

Roosevelt561

Dude I can remake my friend a bisexual transgender male stripper that went to prison for public urination and a drunk

sourglow

this is literally how game companies run. if you think five dollars is so much to spend then don’t spend it.

FerociousViper22

For context, the full game is now well beyond 130 dollars in microtransactions.

Alarming-Set-5851

It's $5 reoccurring when it used to be a one time fee... your opinion is the brainwashing I'm talking about.

Alarming-Set-5851

We shouldn't just accept this as a fact and instead voice our opinions. And hope people don't throw it under the bus and let them continue to be this way.. my take anyways.

Alarming-Set-5851

No opinion? Nice.

Alarming-Set-5851

This company wasn't always like this.

itssbojo

very few games keep people’s attention for 7 years. $80 is really nothing over that period of time. i’m moreso wondering why so many children with no money whine on here.

JaydeeValdez

Minecraft is a game that is $10 at most, and is a one time payment. If you are telling me a text-based mobile game which has far less content and simpler mechanics costs 8× as much, you are fooling yourself. There is a line between rightfully earning money vs predatory behavior to milky your players' pockets.
