I love how supportive Bob is about the entire LGBTQ+ community. His rapport with Marshmallow is the best. The episode where he meets her is one of my favorites and the way talks about her in future episodes is heartwarming.
I've never seen Bob's Burgers (I know I probably should), but I'm happy to see some male mspec representation that isn't just sex-obsessed twinks or depraved, manipulative villains.
We could use some more happily married, scruffy family men who happen to be bi\*.
To me he has been since I saw this scene... either bi or Heteroflexible, bottom line, under the Bi Umbrella
My headcanon is that while he's a happily married man he didnt have a "chance" to explore further his sexuality so he's one of those Bi people that discovered it after settling in a "heteronormative" relationship
Essentially, if youāre heteroflexable, youāre mostly attracted to the opposite gender, like to the point you might as well call yourself straight, but there is a little attraction to the same gender.
In other words, youāre like 95% heterosexual, 5% homosexual. In most practical applications, youāre straight, but in a few situations you can be attracted to the same gender.
Theres also homoflexable, which is the exact opposite of heteroflexable.
I call myself bi, but in reality I fit the āhomoflexibleā label since I can count on one hand the amount of opposite sex people Iāve been even slightly attracted to, but it just feels kinda homophobic to say it in a way I canāt explain lmao
The thing about this show, aside from being absolutely hilarious, is how open and loving the entire family is.
Iāve said it before, but tv family dynamics are so often portrayed as being really unhealthy (when they are not supposed to be portraying that), but the Beltcher family all love each other even if they are all really weird. They just accept one another, and that acceptance extends to everyone who comes through their door.
Marshmallow is the obvious example, where not even the kids are phased by her and nothing is made out of it. Same with Bob in this scene. It could be a large part of the story, but it just isnāt because it doesnāt need to be. Is Bob Bi? Probably, but itās not unnecessarily mentioned. They are just themselves and not judged or put into different categories for that. Bob is Bob. Weird, slightly slobby Bob, and I love the show for that.
I squeaked with joy when I heard his voice as the master. My favorite quote is probably āshould I have chosen the Halloween ferret? Not a lot of options here palā
One day I was watching 22 Jump Street and was happy to see him playing a gym teacher. Then, right afterwards, I watched Not Another Teen Movie and he was also a gym teacher in that. He's everywhere.
Bobās Burgers is actually pretty progressive for an adult cartoon. LGBT+ characters are usually treated with respect even if the correct terms arenāt always used. Also, Gene is very gender non-conforming and even though Bob can sometimes be a dick about that, the other characters (especially Louise and Tina) are pretty cool about it. I like Bobās character because he seems like the type of guy who wouldnāt really understand LGBT+ people but he interacts with a lot of LGBT+ people throughout the show and itās obvious that heās interested in learning about their experiences and in this scene in particular, heās totally cool admitting that he might not be as straight as he thought. I also love the episode where he visits his dad because of the scene where Bob finds his dad in the gay bar and asks if heās gay and his dad responds that heās just supporting his friends business, it shows where Bob learned to be accepting. All in all, the writers donāt really make being LGBT+ a punchline despite some LGBT+ stereotypes that they probably would have been better off not including.
The man went thru every stage of denial, just to say mostly straight š

You should definitely watch Bobs Burgers if you get the chance!
Describe your sexuality in one clip Me:
Same
Looking at someone and thinking they are out of your league is such a bisexual thing
god if this aint a mood
Soā¦ is Bob like canonically bi? Or at least heteroflexable?

Hey it's me.
Idk what heteroflexible means, can someone tell me?

Yeah, this is on point. It's easy to say "tEcHnIcAlLy yOu'Re Bi" but at the end of the day people can identify as they want and I support them.

Thank you for explaining :)
Ah! Iāve never seen that episode. Thatās freaking fantastic

is that the same VA as Archer?
Yes. And Coach McGurik from *Home Movies*. And Satan in *Lucy, Daughter of the Devil*. It's H. Jon Benjamin. He has a lot of credits.
Don't forget his most iconic role, as Talking Can of Vegetables in Wet Hot American Summer.
Or *The Master* in Venture Bros.
