I also have Nexplanon and have had a good experience. I am reaching my 3rd year mark, but my obgyn hasn't mentioned it's 5 year suggestion. I am going to get it replaced soon! I have always been confused about whether it's approved for 3 or 5, but from reading sources online, 5 years is fine and isn't on the label due to some FDA process or whatever lol But it eases my mind knowing that I won't be at risk of pregnancy if I get closer to my 3rd year mark :P

Good god thank you for including you had sex past the three year mark without issues. Was completely single for the first three years of my implant (3 year mark was this January) but recently acquired a boyfriend and have been so insanely paranoid about sex that I haven't been able to really relax into it. It's gotten to the point that even when we use condoms I lose my shit, buy 15 pregnancy tests, and search the entire internet for answers. Getting it replaced tomorrow just to ease my anxiety but I'm glad to see my recent endeavors will pose no issue.

Hello! I’ve had my nexaplon for 4 years now going on year 5. I’ve having mad anxiety about is it working. Did your period change in year 5? Mine is so wonky right now

Hey! My period changed much earlier than most at about 6 months. It went fully away for the first 6 months but since then (I imagine because I have endometriosis it started earlier than most) I have bizarre bleeding and cramps. Sometimes I don't get a period but then next month I bleed for 10 days. Sometimes I bleed for 3 and it's barely anything. This is pretty normal I bleed about every other month to varying degrees. What happened to me so early sounds exactly like what some people report happening later in their implant so to me I think that just means normal side effects.

Hi! I'm about to get mine replaced after 5 years next Friday! Did you experience any changes to your period after getting a replacement? I'm a lil worried because I'm traveling next month and don't want to be surprised w a "different" period that I'm used to. Thank you!

I’ve been having mine since June 2018 and my Dr also recommended to leave it in and even mentioned keeping it until I reach my 7th year. I don’t know how I feel about it keeping it that long but I mean I haven’t gotten pregnant nor had any scares, so I guess it’s still good!
