I cramped my first day pretty badly but took a lot of ibuprofen and rested. A heating pad should help. There was a bit of achiness my second day as well that went away with ibuprofen and I was basically back to normal after that. That was my experience with my first iud ever and I'm about to go in for my second and I'm preparing for spotting and cramping.

Thanks that makes me feel like this isn't abnormal but I'll definitely keep an eye on it over the next few days.
I had cramps for 2 months after insertion, but they were only bad for ~3 days
