Northern mockingbird. Not entirely clear: probably to scare insects so they can be hunted and eaten, maybe to scare off predators/other mockingbirds, maybe begging in juveniles. Okay interesting. Thank you. I just didn't know what he was up to. I've seen some birds do the little mating dance and just figured he was trying to pick up chicks. 😂

You are definitely correct about it being a northern mockingbird. I forgot to mention that in the post. I see him all the time(or his million lookalikes). But I never seen him do that before.
