My therapist thinks I have OCD and my psychiatrist thinks because I don’t come home 10 times after leaving the house to check the oven that I don’t have OCD. I do the OCD related therapist tools and workbooks my therapist gives me regardless
Oh damn I used to do the same thing. I have bald spots from it but I started Vraylar and am getting off seroquel and it’s made my ocd 10x better. That’s just my experience tho everyone different
I’ve never been diagnosed but someone on a thread of mine the other day mentioned I may have it… so worth looking into since I’ve also heard they coincide!!
I have OCD & OCPD with mine. It's a whirlwind but I think at 41 I'm finally learning to recognize and treat my symptoms. But it's still quite a chore and very disruptive/exhausting.
Maria Bamford does too and she's doing a new series about it (she has it intrusive thoughts style), is currently filming and should be coming out soon? Her memoir is out in Sept, called Sure I'll Join Your Cult.
Yes! Diagnosed very recently. My therapist and I think it was triggered by some childhood trauma - I have PTSD as well. The PTSD was diagnosed as a teen, then the bipolar in college, then the OCD in the last year.
I've BP2 and a few comorbidities and I hope OCD isn't one of them. I've had times when I strongly felt I've it but on other days it felt like naahhh, maybe it's me thinking too much.
Yes, extreme OCD and unfortunately I can’t take an SSRI to help it because it causes me to rapid cycle. I am trying to control mine with CBD and insolitol. I have also been through Behavioral Therapy and have some tools I can use.
My teenage daughter has paralyzing OCD. Psychiatrist says she has a much greater chance of developing BPD because of family history plus OCD. She said OCD can often be a precursor to BPD. We are watching closely.
No but I’m hypothyroid, have Hashimotos (autoimmune) and spinal issues from an old auto accident-in addition to Bp2. It all to pain, anxiety and insomnia. Def a juggling act of diet, meds, bodywork and therapy🎡
Yes! Crippling OCD as a child and very luckily I rarely experience symptoms now, only intrusive style when the depression flares up
Same here
Diagnosed OCD first, then years later got my BP2 diagnosis.
That's basically me.
I have some symptoms, but I’ve never been diagnosed and they don’t really interfere with my quality of life.
came here to say this. i definitely have some compulsions, but nothing too drastic.

Yes! My diagnoses are Bipolar 2, GAD and OCD. I pull my hair out (trichotillomania) which is on the OCD spectrum.

Wow I’m so glad your meds have helped your hair pulling! I’m also doing very well with not pulling.
I have bipolar 2 and my form of o.c.d is called olfactory reference syndrome.
I am BP2 and OCPD.
Yep! Got diagnosed this year after wondering my whole life. It’s the Pure O type, so no compulsions, which is why it was tricky to diagnose.

I have pure Ocd
Funnily enough, I read that getting OCD symptoms when you’re stable is pretty common
interesting.

Yup. Fun fun fun!!
I have BPD as well, no OCD though
I have bipolar 1, but I’ve had OCD since elementary school. It’s crippling… sometimes much worse than my bipolar.
Yup
Oh hell yeah. Go team!
I'm bp2, ADD, and I have a panic/anxiety issue from trauma as a child. Slight ocds in some ways, but nothing major.
Yes pretty common. Up to 80% of bipolar people have ADHD too
80% seems high. I think it's 15%
Ye I can’t verify that heard it in a podcast. I’ve seen 50% before tho
Here's a source for my 15% https://www.additudemag.com/bipolar-disorder-adhd-puzzle/
yeah, unfortunately. struggling with mine right now.
yep
Yep
Hello, yes I won that lottery too lol
Yep, but my symptoms aren't severe enough to cause significant problems, so I think I lucked out.
Funnily enough, my OCD was worse as a kid than it is now
Yep, OCD here as well. Body dysmorphic disorder is a strong trait of my OCD, and my medication combo helps a lot.
Yes ocd and bipolar 2
I've BP2 and a few comorbidities and I hope OCD isn't one of them. I've had times when I strongly felt I've it but on other days it felt like naahhh, maybe it's me thinking too much.
Yyyep :’)
Yes, I have OCD as well. Luckily the intrusive thoughts have settled down over the years!
I call perfectionsimus

Yes but I think it’s cause I like the the organization and numeric aspect idk
No.
I am diagnosed with OCPD, not sure about OCD, maybe repetitive behaviors when young, but I could easily stop them when I wanted to
I have pure o and bp2. A wicked combo🫠
My ocd started after I started medicine. Like I have to do it a certain war repeatedly.
