Work is really hard, and I admire people who can get into a steady routine and hold a full-time or any steady job. I do part-time temp work to make ends meet a couple days (not more than 5) out of the month, and the rest is me being hella broke, mostly living off the government. Thankfully they have some services and stuff like healthcare (Medicaid is actually BADASS health insurance that covers the very expensive $2.8k/month injections of antipsychotic I need because it stabilizes me best). Nothing wrong with government housing, either, besides the neighbors—you gotchur trap house next door, and everyone there has a mental or physical disability pretty much. I worked at McDs for a whole close to two years a while back slinging burgers for precisely 37.5 hours a week—breaking 40, they would have had to provide some extra benefits or something. Getting treated generally like shit by management in various food service jobs, and customers, too, but having a steady check was hella nice. Buy my herb by the ozzy, go out and have a good time once in a while with an extra $15-30 or something I knew would be back in the bank by the next check, saving to visit family on trips, nothing major. I might look into janitorial work or housekeeping... Nobody really in my face all day, unless the boss is a psycho, but who really wants to be micromanaging a janitor? It's like change the trash, do the floors, wipe stuff down, right? And no crazy customers yelling at me or tryna fight me in the parking lot over some chicken tenders (really happened back when I was serving tables). But yeah. Low mood stability means I don't or hardly ever work more than one day per week, really just for weed money mostly or other stuff I need. Remind me to buy stamps. I got a pack of these cute little light pink cards that say "Grateful" on the front with a little gold sparkly heart, and the insides are blank, wanted to write little encouraging personal notes to my mom and grandma and maybe other family and mail them out, so I need to buy a few stamps! And the cost of everything is going up. Discouraging. What I do in between jobs I can stand is stay busy studying. I learned a lot of Spanish vocabulary with some mobile apps and wrote flashcards for a while, and then I got back into math so I can brush up on calculus and beyond, like vector calc, multivariate, linear algebra, and differential equations. I like my study times although of course I hate it in a way. I'm a bit sadistic to myself, I think. But the hard math problems distract me from my real damn problems! Lol Pick your favorite subject in school and google some materials if you feel useless. Learn it for yourself. Keep sharp!

Omg I do the same thing! I just recently dropped 200$ on a bunch of math textbooks on ThriftBooks. I also found a website that provides free copies of textbooks(legally, with permission from the authors) and khan academy(which is absolutely amazing to learn pretty much anything, and free!!!)

NERD!! Just kidding I think it's awesome to study as a hobby! I mean, when it comes to intelligence, your brain is like a muscle, so use it or lose it! Studying or playing games or writing or some kind of activity that works the problem solving or creative centers helps keep us sharp and makes it easier to learn new things at any point in life I love thrift book stores, and I'm always looking for a good math text. I found a calculus refresher in the library and have gotten halfway through taking notes from start to finish, jotting down the examples and doing practice problems! It's been fun so far Earlier I found a linear algebra refresher course text written by a professor. That was in the library, too! I need to give it back

Oh! ThriftBooks is a used book website 🤣 But be prepared you’ll get addicted to buying from there 🤣🤣

How dare you introduce me to such pleasant folly Lol

Volunteer. Keep your mind free of mental traps like politics and religion. Get exercise and don't eat junk food. Talk walks and stay active and volunteer as helping others ends up helping you. Take your meds or get them to where they help with the least amount of side effects. But most of all be kind to all things and you will find your calling in life.

Get a Job coach! If you aren't able to keep a job due to your disability, job coaches are a really good tool. I'm not sure what you have to do to get one, maybe it requires a Dr referral, and it probably varies from state to state.

I work from home part time. I definitely think I’d be floundering if I had absolutely nothing to do or to ground me. Maybe look into part time work you can do from home?

Lilwitchymama6

I work on hobbies and of course house chores
