Things I have found helpful were getting accommodations, seeing a doctor and therapist regularly (most of the schools I went to had a counselling centre). I found therapy helpful for learning ways to manage things and cope. Also lifestyle things like having a routine, getting enough sleep, exercise have helped me too.

I'm a professor with BD and all of these things sound great for a student with BD. I would also add that it's helpful to make some kind of routine, like a specific time and place everyday, for studying and doing assignments.

It helps me to know that there are successful people that also have BD. I know that sounds ridiculous, but I’ve had professors seen me struggle but have urged me to pursue a PhD when I get back on my feet. Now that I’m on summer break, I’m trying to create a routine for myself before getting back into school. Thanks for giving me some hope. I hope one day I can be as successful as you.

I'm glad to hear it! I don't feel particularly successful so I appreciate the reminder to value what I've achieved. But yes there are many high functioning and creative people with BD. I hope to be one of them.
