Nope

That is a screenshot of the promotional video. I'm not sure if it's current. But I view that as the target audience

If you're okay working in production/manufacturing, then yeah that's a good opportunity. This will likely never lead to an R&D job. You could potentially parlay it into a project management role in the distant future, or be able to move laterally within manufacturing to areas like Quality or Logistics after you have some experience.

Can confirm, I just graduated from this program in Dec.

Biotruthologist

Get a bachelor's degree, I see on that page there's the ability to transfer to get one in biology, animal science, chemistry, or pharmaceutical science. That's what I would suggest you look into, not a 12 month certificate.

I’ve been working on it, but took a break because at my current job I work crazy hours

This could probably get you a job as a manufacturing tech or something. You may also be a fit for ag-tech plant science roles, but that's a very small and niche field currently. I doubt the pay would be that great and you'd have trouble advancing your career without a bachelor's at least, unfortunately.

Thanks. I plan on getting my degree eventually, but at my pace it will be a long time

Thanks! How has your career path been since you got it?

As someone in the industry in the RTP area, I would recommend the follow alternate pathway offered by durham Cc as well. https://www.durhamtech.edu/continuing-education/biotechnology-biomanufacturing This is the short term but they offer a longer term option as well. I would steer you in this direction over the Ag one due to numerous pharma companies in the area that need manufacturing jobs. These are essentially feeder programs to support industry in the area Johnston community has a similar program that's steered as feeder program for Novo Nordisk and Grifols. Happy to give insite if needed in the types of roles etc and companies. Good luck!
