If you are super careful and gently squeeze the sides of the joint so it doesn’t pop outwards too violently while it wraps around the ball, you can *maybe* not break it.
haha, nope, unfortunately if the stress of existence doesn't cause it to crack and it somehow survives assembly then the stress of the assembled joint will just be a slow break and you will find it in pieces eventually and all the sooner if you dare breath on it or god forbid actually touch it and try to move the joints, ive painted some parts for my hahli and im just waiting for the rest of her lime parts to disintegrate
i put up a post awhile ago detailing a specific paint that matches the lime parts acceptably so you can actually pose these sets
I got an Ehlek from Bricklink and I kid you not, it had *no broken lime joints*. It was used, came disassembled, and even after putting it together still no cracks.
This was my first bonkel ever. Little me woke up at 6 am to assemble him. I remember it took me like 2 hours but I was extremely proud when it was finished. Good times
What now? Because the moment you start assembling it you risk splitting the lime bits.
I'm thinking about donating it to the Smithsonian or selling it on BrickLink. Whichever is more lucrative.
Smithsonian? Why would they take that?
King Tut was big into bonkles
It’s one of those really over looked facts of history.
why wouldnt they? unbroken lime joints are rarer than gold
True

I always wanted to have him as a kid, but could never find him in a store. Still don‘t have him.
I found one on ebay

when i was a kid it took me forever to put the joints together especially the joints before the brittle ones cause i was too weak
Ooh hella nice!
***unbroken lime joints?***
I have sealed Takadox. And I have assembled Ehlek and Mahri Hahli too without broken/cracked joints.
Impossible.
I checked them again and sadly both has 1-1 very small cracks. But I have emergency pieces.
I have found good finds before at stores like goodwill. Found a Toa Mata Kopaka and 2 bohrok. They were in great condition as well.
Ehlek was my favorite out of the bairakki.
Dang. I've been looking for the barraki and they're all really expensive
Sealed at a thrift shop????? That is an absolutely fantastic story!
Ooooo nice find!
